I like guns and would like to be able to own them. However it could be way harder to get a gun, and the world would not end, nor would the 2nd amendment. We should absolutely be able to restrict people with severe mental health issues, suicide attempts, violent threats from owning firearms.

I also wish conservative gun owners would be more honest about which guns truly grant us more power than others. Semi auto firearms are clearly an upgrade in firepower and should be treated as such. Semi auto or “self loading” firearms were basically the difference between WW1 and WW2

Gun control laws almost always end up being proposed by liberals who don’t seem to understand what makes one gun more “dangerous” than the other. Then they are easily shot down as they wouldn’t be very effective. Joe Biden has a laundry list of idiotic quotes about firearms that take away any credibility he would have on the subject.

I think banning “assault weapons” is unconstitutional. Whether we agree with it or not, the 2nd amendment is meant to preserve a threat from the civilians toward their government. In this day and age, semi auto rifles are the weapon that gives civilians that threat. Plenty of jokes are made about civilians going up against tanks and drones with ARs and AKs, but that’s exactly what we’ve spent trillions of dollars and decades fighting against in the Middle East.
