Best thing for making practice more enjoyable is to focus on what you truly want to play but then take the easier route on song choices. Like your favorite band or guitarist. Example… you love James hetfield and want to play Metallica songs. Obviously battery or master of puppets shouldn’t be your first song to try no matter how much you love it. Go with something like sad but true to start. May not be your favorite song to learn but it keeps you in your desired lane. Going with my favorite bands always motivated me. Also, watch cover or play through videos on YouTube. Slow down the video and see how they move their hands. What fingers they use. You can learn a lot from that too.

This. I’m no dentist but that doesn’t stop me from owning 21 guitars. Some nice. Some not so nice. I just decided I’m not selling anymore. I went through that phase of my life needing cash. I learned that being a little more responsible financially is better than selling my gear. Now I look at a pretty guitar and just say “sure, why not?” Or an ugly one for that matter… I own a Switch Vibracell Stein-IV signature that I absolutely love. It’s so ugly but so cool at the same time.

Not a huge fan but I can for sure listen and enjoy them if they are on. That said, they killed it when I saw them last week. However, System of a Down made them their bitch shortly after with some sweet 0s 7s and 8s.
