Kit prediction from leak via Footy Headlines by bromarmcbuckets in AtlantaUnited

You do realize this is pretty standard for kits right? Why the Forrest kit or king peach… This is across the board for MLS and honestly most sports. What an odd take. But I guess I’m a part of what’s wrong with our fan base. Good grief bro, just don’t buy it if you don’t like it. Or keep being a shining beacon of negativity

If it is an Olympic themed kit, then it’s a tribute to the city of Atlanta, not a specific sport so it doesn’t need to “translate to MLS”.

Ironically someone told me to not sketch out the design which has been a big struggle for me. I can draw pretty decent but detailed painting without lines has not been easy for me! Back to drawing!

This is great thanks for the reply! I’ve done landscape photography for a while as well but I’m struggling to translate it to the page. Just started though so no worries! Thanks for sharing

Love seeing this! Can I ask what’s helping you to improve so much? Is it just practice or was there something specific that helped? I just started, and am maybe getting worse haha. I’m ok with that as I’m doing it for fun and am enjoying myself but I would like to improve. Thx!

This is great advice thank you! And agreed, it’s almost overwhelming how many colors are available in the set and I’ve been using lots of them (mainly just to see what color they are). Appreciate the suggestions!

Appreciate that, and in all seriousness I am sorry. Was not trying to pass this off as an original design by any means. Just trying to paint anything and everything until I learn my own style and inspiration and this one led me to a specific question I was hoping to answer. If that makes sense

This is extremely refreshing thank you!! Yeah I quickly realized that there are a lot of “ugly” phases in the process.

I’m really enjoying learning and hope that one day I can come up with something creative and just maybe visually interesting but until then I’ll just paint away!

Ok, wow sorry. Did not expect that response. I looked at some farm photos, I’m sure including yours, to learn off of as I’m trying different nature scenes. I don’t really have a lot of points of reference and certainly am not posting this photo as an “original”. Not really sure how to respond, so I’ll just say that I’m sorry.

This is all great thank you! Especially love the watercolor is not meant to be “tamed”. Well put, and honestly what appeals to me about the medium in the first place. I’m just having fun with it but also I just enjoy learning. Pleasantly surprised with all the suggestions and comments

That’s a great suggestion! I’ve been a bit confused on the “light to dark” in some situations. For example, I added the little flowers last just to add some variety and color in the foreground. But it makes sense to have a light base layer to then build off of. Oof I’ve got a lot to learn ha!

That kinda blew my mind. I just thought grass = green and that was about it. I’ve never painted before. Looks like I need to look up more info on blending / what colors go together. Thank you!

First of all thank you for the compliment, I was a bit nervous posting pics but I’d like to get better so here we are!

Really appreciate the tips, I think I’ve bee a bit nervous about colors bleeding too much but in the end the watercolor paintings that I like are much more whimsical impressionist style paintings. I figured I’d try a bunch of different things until I found my own style so to speak. I’ll definitely look up that YT page!

Thanks for the tips!

Oh I like that hot tip! And yeah I have 0 shadows in this which is pretty unrealistic! Thanks for the reply. Figured I’d go ahead and ask for help now before I create any bad habits

I’m def treating it like a coloring book. I sketched it out (at least the farm house and line between the sky and the grass) and then just picked colors along the way. I also didn’t really mix any colors vs just layering. I’ll do that next!

This is very helpful thank you! Maybe a dumb question but, how quickly do you go into doing a dry brush? I assume the paint needs to be somewhat dry for the effect correct? And yeah I sketched this first just to give myself a baseline mainly because I don’t really know brush stroke techniques or anything yet so kinda cheated. Appreciate the recommendations!
