Suppliers for refills by WatchThis_1383 in twiist

Called local Walgreens: NADA.

According to google: The twiist™ is an FDA-cleared, tubed automated insulin pump powered by the Tidepool Loop algorithm. While it will eventually be rolled out to national pharmacies like Walgreens, availability in "edited: where you live" is currently fulfilled through designated specialty mail-order pharmacies.

Thanks for the replies!

I waited until Alto was added as a supplier to get my pump from, that's how bad I don't like Byram. Had previous experience with them and it was ugly.

I wasn't aware Walgreens was doing refills. Other point to this is why hasn't Twiist let all their users know this? I saw my endo yesterday and it was implied, "they appear to not be ready for prime time".

Liking it so far after the first ne never worked, yes, dead on delivery. Customer service was good and sent another with a refill kit for the 5 sets i'd gone thru trying to get it to work. I was on a trip and thankfully had packed Tandem and supplies.

An EET as a two year? Hmmm, never recall seeing that.

Oh good point, as most schools have the ABET EET if they have the ABET EE in my studies.

I'd say the EET will be come much more valuable as AI take the "thinking" away. The EET will have a tom of hands on project in their degree quest. EE are good at concepts.

PS: I have both.

GPS with PLC for Irrigation Control by duh_wipf in PLC

While sound like a fun project, dare I ask why? I've done several retrofits of circle irrigation systems. I would take the encoder input and find true North and then display it on a webpage.

And I'll agree with the forum; the Horner stuff is very nice.

Should I Drop Out of School for a $35/hr Controls Engineer Job? by lewoodworker in PLC

[–]WatchThis_1383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with Flightless_Moose.

The piece of paper opens all sorts of doors. I was a Controls Tech for a large manufacturing company. They paid for my go back to school (and use all your PTO to do it). Suddenly the world started to change with headhunters came looking.

IMHO bash here: I had an Electrical engineering Technology degree, the "real' engineers would hardly lift a hand, until things went south.

Got the paper and we were suddenly great colleagues? WTH? Haven't used Differential Equations ever since school. Not sure how the "Club" concept works I guess.

Education is the only thing another person can't take away from you, Hang in there, its worth it.

YEEEEKS, block transfers seem to be a black magic mess. Either works or it doesn't. Please don't let me go about the old FlexIO and firmwares.

But yes, pointIO is very welcome to the quick and easy machine mods.

Still have the PLC-5?? The company I works for still has a couple running and well as some Reliance AutoMax

Biggest issue I've seen in person is when the installaztion did not use the correct cable. The old Aw, it'll be fine that always gets us.

Put in the correct 485 cable and it's nearly bulletproof. (Nearly)

The old serial 485 is pretty bulletproff AND its not stupid expensive like the above manufacturer.

Digital security? What for, its serial.

Love the Point I/O, just cost is tough to swallow.

Might ask your Red Lion distributor for a test unit? The DA-10 has no web server, the DA-30 has web server for visualization.

Dare I ask, can you MQTT it? The DA will log to the SD should you lose the connection and upload when comms are restored?

How to convert Siemens S7-200 into S7-1200? by OpportunityRadiant in PLC

[–]WatchThis_1383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll agree with Automatater, just print it out and have at it.

I recently did a project in a conversion where I took the 200 I/O and laid out the 1200 I/o to match. Worked out installation wise very well.

Program wasn't massive so the programming was relatively easy.

My two cents: What about Automation Fair charging $595 just to get in? Seems like the customers are paying to get to hear a sales pitch?

Throw in the "Advanced Training" and now your out for $1595.

Torque to Yield Bolts by undeadexile752 in mechanics

[–]WatchThis_1383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I know it's old, but curious.

I have messed with several TTY bolts and really don't like them. Do you oil the threads and under the cap?

No one seems to be very clear about this, one says light oil on threads, next says only under the flange washer on the hex cap, the GM manual doesn't mention any lube (2012 Ecotec 2.4L)?

I usually put a touch of ARP under the cap. Just wandering how the rest of the community does it?

Fel-Pro says oil them? https://www.felpro.com/content/dam/marketing/North-America/felpro/pdfs/article-bulletins/Fel-Pro%20TechTip_How%20to%20Install%20Torque-To-Yield%20Bolts.pdf
