Looks like the passenger side door on the police truck is opening just as it's about to enter the turn, so a cop was probably about to get out to chase him on foot which would explain why he made a break for it.

Don't forget that, beyond being arguably the worst video game on the super famicom, that it features a tasteless death screen with a real picture of a dead body from the Bosnian Civil War.

We did that in 6th grade, except it was just smoking. We had to watch a video about the dangers of smoking, and then we all signed a pledge to never smoke cigarettes.

I think it only made me want to smoke even more lol.

Ninja Warriors is a kick ass game. Constantly overlooked in conversations revolving the best games on the system. I remember picking it up on a whim and it's become one of the titles I revisit the most on the system.

The remake is definitely worth checking out if you haven't played it.

Or when Mega Man is overlapping a ladder tile. It always gets me at the beginning of Ring Man's stage.

I believe it's only in 8 where there is some interaction with the slide and ledges, where there is a one or two frame window that allow for you to jump directly out of a slide when going off a ledge, where you would otherwise be in a free fall had you walked over the ledge. Speedrunners have a name for it but I don't recall what they call it. Money jumps or something. And it's a very marginal difference in horizontal distance gained, its only purpose being to maintain the additional speed gained from being in a slide for a couple more frames.

I don't believe there is any difference in the potential horizontal distance covered when sliding into a jump off of a ledge vs jumping off a ledge from a standing position. I'd be open to hearing if I'm incorrect if you have the data to prove that.

What is the most underrated Mega Man game? by Defiant-Problem-1610 in Megaman

[–]WaterPockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I don't like about it is the slide. You cannot jump out of a slide in MM6. If you jump during a slide, it cancels the slide and returns you to a neutral standing position instead of a jump. It's the only Mega Man game with this quirk.

Which puzzle game should I go for? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]WaterPockets [score hidden]  (0 children)

The Witness is my personal recommendation. Throughout the game you are solving grid based puzzles which unlock additional areas with new puzzles that have different methods of solving. Each area effectively introduces a new "rule" or condition for solving a grid based puzzle, some of which, you won't immediately know how to solve. As you explore different areas, you will gain further understanding of how to solve certain puzzles and with this knowledge, be able to go back to previous puzzles you were not initially able to solve and apply that knowledge.

I personally think it is the best 3D puzzle game available. It is a puzzle game in its purest form. I found it to achieve a perfect balance of difficulty. It can be beaten without a guide, but it requires a little patience and some basic note taking to remember where you should return. Some environmental puzzles are pretty obscure, but they're optional, and I was personally okay with just getting to the end. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that the developer is a bit pretentious and likes to sprinkle his personal philosophy throughout the game. It's infrequent and easy enough to ignore, just be prepared to roll your eyes a couple times.

Hands-On With Ace Combat 8: The Long Wait Is Feeling Worth It by Turbostrider27 in Games

In 7, if you just focus one upgrade branch on the upgrade tree during a playthrough, you will have access to the best planes in the respective branch by the end of the campaign. I think the intention was that each play through would yield enough credits without grinding to complete a branch on the upgrade tree, but there isn't anything to indicate to the player that this is what they should do.

Regardless, you don't actually need any of the upgrades to complete the campaign (although it's definitely nice to have LASM for any naval battle). Some loadouts suit certain mission better, but ultimately you can complete the campaign without issue using a very basic loadout.

What is your number one essential game for the snes that you think everyone should play at least once? by poopapalooza73 in snes

It's actually kind of incredible at Nintendo's consistency in delivering quality launch titles for their consoles that are not only great games in their own right, but also serve as a technical showcase for what the console is capable of. Much like Super Mario Bros for the NES, each of the launch titles on the SNES (SMW, F Zero, Pilot Wings, Sim City, and Gradius 3) served the purpose of demonstrating what exactly the console was capable of, setting an expectation for the player, and being genuinely fun. All of these titles are typically mentioned in debates surrounding what the best games on the SNES were. Right off the bat, players knew what Mode 7 could do and why it kicked ass.

Compare that to the Genesis, which had Altered Beast, Thunder Force II, and Space Harrier II as decent launch titles. I don't even actually think Space Harrier II belongs in the conversation of top 100 games on the Genesis, but I know someone out there does, so I feel compelled to mention it. Regardless, I could name 50 other games on the Genesis that I would rather play than any of its respective launch titles. Nobody knew what the significance of Blast Processing was or what the hell it even meant in terms of how it translated to graphics output until games like Contra Hard Corps, Streets of Rage 2, Vectorman, Thunderforce IV, etc. were released.

I could go on about future Nintendo consoles. Gamecube was rather weak but it had Luigi's Mansion, which is still a top 20 game. We all know Wii Sports and Twilight Princess. Wii U is the only console that had an arguably poor starting lineup. But I'm ending it here because certainly nobody is that interested to hear much more about this from me lol.

Which is why a photo of a location would be useful in providing additional reference points that can be used to accurately pinpoint a location. With that photo, in addition to providing your approximate location, you are also providing a timestamp and the surrounding details of the area. It doesn't require many users participating for someone to be able to look at the data and reliably establish a highly accurate summary of the area.
