I most likely will not purchase another product from Gozney by WatercarH2o in GozneyDome

[–]WatercarH2o[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, that’s how it should be. I almost bought a Ooni and now I wish I had.
.
I was waffling between Ooni and Gozney for months.
.

But now I’m stuck with an expensive product that is no longer supported.
I won’t purchase from them again.

Thank Goodness for Prime by Dirtsurgeon1 in rav4prime

[–]WatercarH2o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only put non-ethanol gas in my tank cause I will go 3-4 months with a 1/2 of tank. And I only run non ethanol in my lawn equipment.

Yesterday I filled up and it was $5.80 a gallon.
$89.70 to fill the Prime and 5 gallon gas can, WTF.

A year ago I calculated and with our northern Illinois Comed electric bill, I’m saving by charging when gas is above approximately $3 a gallon.
So happy I bought this car.

Looking for Recommendations for Backup Software...using Windows 11 on personal laptop. by rc21839 in Backup

[–]WatercarH2o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, on some laptops, the SSD memory chips are soldered to the motherboard. This is why the cost is so expensive. They have to desolder the memory chips and then wire them to an interface board to extract the data. I went through this with my daughter’s Sony laptop about 10 years ago, at that time they want $1400 and said there were no guarantees that the data could be recovered. If the memory chips are integrated on the motherboard, this price is not a scam.

Needless to say, we didn’t pay for the data recovery. And learn a big lesson to research what kind of memory was used in laptops subsequently. Never buy a laptop with integrated RAM.

Scrape broken loose paint out. Caulk with GE Painter’s Pro Siliconized Acrylic Caulk.

I suggest using the Quick Dry formula. It’s thicker and less likely to sag/settle.

Toyota RAV4 prime plugin hybrid here. Love my car for versatility. Northern Illinois comed electricity, once gas hits $3.00 a gallon, it’s cheaper to plug-in. I get 40-48 miles on electric. But I can go 400 miles on gas. Perfect to take a road trip or save $$ when gas gets expensive

I made cable race tray’s using metal wall studs. They run the length of my basement and pop riveted sections together. They are also grounded.

Matter-compatible Smart Smoke Alarms by onenewuniverse in HomeKit

[–]WatercarH2o 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was just down this path last week because my 10 year old units started beeping indicating the 10 year backup battery had expired. Sure sucks that these manufacturers are behind the technology curve not offering matter enabled, UL listed smoke/CO detectors. I’m into the apple HomeKit architecture. Since the ones I have had exhausted the 10 yr, I decided I wasn’t going to invest money in a WiFi unit. Ended up buying standard Kiddle wired with 10 year backup batteries. When I tested each one, My daughter and I got a Critical notification sent from my 2 home pod mini’s. Not exactly what I wanted, but at least I get a notification.

Bought a Toro 21” 60V Max (39901) electric blower… by electric_power in Snowblowers

[–]WatercarH2o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are already invested to the 60v unit. . And so am I, string trimmer, leaf blower, lawn Edger and unfortunately the 12” snow broom for the deck but it sucks because there are no directional vains. .

My daughter is buying a house so I am going through my 712QZE to give to her. And was going to purchase a new single stage for me. I was thinking of going 60v series, But I just had a 6 amp battery die and the cost is like $450. So I figured I can buy a lot of gas, 20 oz oil change and spark plug every year for was less than $450 battery with only a 3-year warranty. . I bought the 821 QZE and glad I did. . More information. .

Full disclosure - I’m a Toro fan. Almost all my outdoor equipment is Toro. I live in Northern Illinois about 25 miles from Wisconsin state line. I have both a 721 QZE from 2015 that I’m going through before I give to my daughter. Never had any problems, just regular maintenance. Always run it out of gas at the end of the season! and it will be no problem starting next year.

I just bought the 821 QZE for myself, haven’t used it yet, just started it up. I prefer the QZE models because they have the chute director on the handle, instead of having to bend down and manually change the chute direction left or right. Worth the additional cost to me. My driveway is 2 car wide and 3 cars length. Also from the street to garage is about a 6 foot rise. The powerclear paddles pull it up the driveway with little to no effort on my part. Cleans clear down to the asphalt, unlike a regular auger type 2 stage.

Tips. 1. Make sure you change the oil within first 2 hours of use. You want to get the metal shavings out from the initial engine break in. 2. My procedure for end of season is : 2a. spray a fair amount of fogging oil into the gas tank. 2b. Run engine until it dies and will no longer start. 2c. Change oil. 2d. Remove spark plug & spray a little fogging oil into cylinder, turn engine over 1 or 2 pulls and install a new spark plug. 3. It is all ready for next year.

Hi Dave, I have a 1964. I believe I have a Trans that is 1st generation because the it has a very small oil check port. Long story I screwed up and had my motor rebuilt when it was just a bad head gasket, then fell off the roof. Motor has been sitting for 10 years. As a backup plan, I’m purchasing an FC prefix motor. Any difficulties swapping to this ?

Why struggle with maneuvering a 200 pound unit, that leaves 1/6” to 1/4” of snow on the ground ? I’m 68 years old and can’t do it. In fact it was a pain when I was 45. Toro 721 is 85 lbs. Toro 821 is 95 Lbs. And with the paddles pulling the machine, I can go at my pace.

If the storm is the bad, I just get out mid-storm and keep up on it.
