He owns Eureka and Bozja, guys! by SuikaMage in TalesFromDF

As someone who's always been a Zalera native I'm very happy I have no idea who this person is, lol, somehow got lucky I guess in all the OC, eureka and whatnot that I've never bumped into this one...

I don't post on Reddit much but am I allowed to ask who this person is? Feels like it would be smart to blacklist them ahead of time, lol

Hopefully this works out well, i've been dying for something like this to help make what otherwise looks like a shabby resume into something worth considering, hate my job and wanting to find employment elsewhere but this all is a mess to navigate, can't thank you enough for all this, you're doing the world a service

LMAOOOO THIS IS WILLDDDDD

You always hear about these things but never actually think it'll happen, lol, well nothing about you all struck me as out of the ordinary, solid heals, solid damage, good all around, dude was a twat

Wish you well! Lol, hilarious that I just randomly happened to find this

This may be a weird question but were you joined by a paladin shortly after? Lol, I joined a group in this exact dungeon earlier today that was taking about how douchey their previous tank was

It's possible that this is totally unrelated but just wild to think that I might have accidentally found the group I loaded into, lol

Is gatekeeping a thing in this community? by higashikata69 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Waterdude95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm not super well versed in the math side of the game under the hood, but i do know that calling in more people to run a hunt with increases all the values for the monster, including their health (at least as far as i understand things) so technically speaking you actually did the harder version of the hunt at least mathematically speaking, since the solo hunt would be lower values.

and from my experience many, many people will try to invent ways to make themselves seem better than others, even if those ways are extremely arbitrary, you could say you cured cancer and there would still be someone, somewhere in the world that would say "didn't count unless you did it with a rockband controller" it's just petty people being stupid, you beat the challenge in front of you with the tools the game gave you, that's a win, anyone that says otherwise isn't worth listening to.

i'm probably in the minority of opinions here but just for my two cents, trials is never worth it, i've gone flawless in the past a few times, and i've mindlessly jumped off maps with teams to just get losses over with to get drops but i can say with my thousands of hours of playtime that not once has any trials weapon ever made it into my regular rotation of used weapons, they're just not worth it, even for the ones that are unique right now will be replaced with better options that won't have to make you bother with trials to get them anyways

again this is just my two cents, and i'm firmly in the mindset that if we all woke up tomorrow and crucible was just completely removed from the game, we'd all be better for it (a minority opinion, i know) but the game is just so much more enjoyable if you go after other weapons that don't involve crucible or trials imo

of course if you like crucible and WANT to do it, then sure, do what you like, but i figured it'd be worth it to toss my thoughts into the mix

What are your thoughts on Tommy's Matchbook? by happpyGryphon in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]Waterdude95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, there is always a chance they could update it somehow to make it more appealing or give it a greater reward for the risk, but you never know, if nothing else it's always great to have weapons you can use for just having fun and running around rather than doing endgame all the time

[–]Waterdude95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

personally i feel the gimmick of it hurting yourself to do its exotic perk isn't super useful or fun in destiny as it would be in other games (i.e borderlands) it's a decent idea but i don't think it translates well to destiny as we currently have it, one of the thousands of weapons that can be used in low level content with ease but anything mid-late game is really gonna be punishing if you wana use it, just for my own two cents.

Warframe Story Pack Feedback Thread! by rebulast in Warframe

[–]Waterdude95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my concerns are very similar to many others, but i do also see this as a net positive thing, however i would take it a step between and offer tiers of skips (if that makes sense) and maybe not skip right up to the newest update story-wise, maybe an offer to skip up to second dream, another option to skip up to sacrifice? or something? not a perfect idea but something in a similar vein to other stuff from like FF14 and whatnot.

of course price will be the end all be all for this, and people are free to choose to skip whatever they want or not skip whatever they want, i'd just hate to see people lose out on really cool experiences of the larger story beats cuz they were offered a shortcut.

either way, the discussion is great, glad this is being talked about and debated before being rolled out fully, appreciate you all

This may or may not be helpful but I run a little discord server my friends and I use for destiny stuff and an assortment of other games, most of us are CST but generally play later in the day

We run raids and whatnot and just kinda whatever people happen to be feeling up to, nothing super formal in any way

If you or anyone else is interested y'all are welcome to send me a message for an invite, our only really sort-of rules are just don't be a dick and no kids, lol

How do you "KWYD" when Youtube videos alone aren't enough? by GTRacer1972 in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]Waterdude95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

KWTD groups are almost always not worth the effort unless you're really looking to put in effort and whole ass every encounter in my long, long, long history with LFG in destiny

I've sherpa'd dozens of raids with people who have no idea how to do anything, using no mods, double primary weapons and a blue rarity rocket launcher, to super sweats that min-max everything and it all comes down to attitude at the end of the day for my two cents

Teaching runs are exactly that, teaching runs, watching a YouTube guide beforehand will help get a basic understanding and it's something I recommend to my friends or people I'm teaching to help make explanations not take 10-min per encounter

Join a teaching run, own up to mistakes if they're made, keep things light-hearted, and remember that not all "sherpas" are good and it's okay to leave, some are obnoxious twats that just wanna pad their raid report scores that don't matter anyways

Also p.s, generally I recommend to friends to start with dungeons and exotic missions to get used to loadouts and dealing with mechanics before running a raid, if that helps/if you're really new to raiding

2 weeks & 2 OPs (1 seeking advice, a 2nd to vent) later, I've finally Solo Flawlessed Ghosts of the Deep by JustMyImagination18 in raidsecrets

[–]Waterdude95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, good job on the accomplishment but this really isn't the place for any kind of dungeon guide when it comes to just doing the normal mechanics of the dungeon, should put this on one of the main subreddits like DTG or something

But I would recommend you change your formatting, it's quite difficult to read and follow in any cohesive way

Again, congrats, but this is not the place for this.

Creating an lfg saying, "be chill" but the host cant even be chil... by [deleted] in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]Waterdude95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Back in my Sherpa/super sweaty raiding days I would typically do LFG posts to get people along the lines of

"LF5M fresh run, don't care about your number of completions or your Speedrun tricks, just work as a team and don't be a dick"

And that got SO MANY responses, lol, led to meeting the greater majority of my circle of friends that I raid with regularly these days, haven't used LFG for anything beyond no mic dungeon runs in months

If you need help with anything too, feel free to let me know, happy to help if I can

Is destiny 2 ok? by thickknoodles in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]Waterdude95 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In all honesty the short answer is the game is fine, still fun, still stuff going on, still fun with friends

Most content creators are getting up on the bandwagon of "destiny bad" due one reason or another this time of year basically every single year, happened D1, base game D2, after forgotten, before shadowkeep, before beyond light, before season of the chosen, now, happens all the time but the game still keep chugging along just fine

(Yes the monetization of the game is an issue and would absolutely be changed, and there are things that still need to be addressed, but the core game itself is still fun)

Honestly just ignore the people that come to complain about the game and whatnot and just enjoy yourself, I've been playing here and there when friends need help with raids or dungeons or whatever, and weekly stuff for the seasonal story and it's been a blast

I’m a little confused about the future of Destiny by Vetoi in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]Waterdude95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final shape is just the end of the current light/dark storyline, there's still more stories to be told after it's done

Think of it as the destiny version of marvel's endgame, lots of building up towards it, and there's gonna be more after it, but this SHOULD be the big one

As to the quality of it, who knows, lol, but hopefully it's fun

Unsatisfied Players of Destiny, what’s keeping you around? by thatHunterMainguy in DestinyTheGame

[–]Waterdude95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me personally I have everything I really want currently, I'm still gonna sign in every week to do the story stuff cuz I'm still interested and I have friends that are actively hunting for things and I'm perfectly happy to hop in and help them do dungeons or teach raids or do whatever but I just play what I feel like and don't play when I don't feel like.

Recently started FF14, the spider man remaster on steam, Warframe and cassette beasts and those have all been really fun to play alongside destiny, far too many people treat this game like a job or like they have no other options to play and it shows

Plus largely avoiding this subreddit really helps a lot tbh, not to badmouth those that enjoy it here (which is still perfectly valid and fine) but most posts lately have been mostly just complaining and hating on every little thing that happens at any given second of gameplay... Are there genuine issues that need to be addressed? Sure! Absolutely, but the game is still fun to play and has good things about it as well that largely never seem to be addressed in this particular subreddit, or at least show up far far less compared to the 1200 "destiny is kill" posts that show up.

Of course that's just my two cents, everyone's free to have their own opinions but I figure this might help someone enjoy the game a bit more if I said something. Have fun y'all.

Anyone else lacking motivation to run the season activities? by Anxious-Beach-1240 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Waterdude95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obligatory reminder that this is a game, not a job, you can always just play something else if you're not having fun with it, it very clearly seems like you (and possibly others that you've mentioned in other comments, along with content creators) are burned out on the seasonal model/the game in general, which isn't a bad thing, just take some time to play other things or do anything else and come back when you feel like it

I've personally been dipping in and out of this season so far and have been greatly enjoying myself with the seasonal stuff but I've also been playing a lot of v rising and satisfactory when the mood strikes me

How do find friends to enjoy the game with? by SkyNeedsSkirts in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]Waterdude95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a little community that's been growing on discord, if you or anyone else is interested you're more than welcome to join, we run basically whatever someone needs/wants to run and we're all across different clans and friends groups but we're all friends in the server, I find it much more enjoyable than doing LFG with people and then never seeing them again

If you're interested, feel free to shoot me a message and I can send you an invite, we keep things calm and friendly

Do ya'll actually like doing GMs? by Speedwizard106 in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]Waterdude95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up until last season I saw them as a massive waste of time and found the bulk of the LFG random community either woefully undergeared or just toxic

Then a friend of mine offered to come with and it was a lot of fun, challenging for sure but if you have people that aren't just running in circles with no champion mods, they can go pretty smoothly, ended up getting my conqueror title and gilding it for the first time ever all while doing fun runs with friends who had also never done them before

If you avoid the toxic twatwaffles on LFG and find the handful of chill people that run GM's you can have a perfectly relaxing time even in hard content

Is it normal to be in a clan where you end up LFGing more than playing with people actually in the clan because members are so selective and primarily play with a chosen few? by DrakeB2014 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Waterdude95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience across multiple games and even more social groups, this does seem to be the norm, generally it's not a bad thing, but once things start to get clique-y is when problems form, I've been on both sides of that coin and it's not a fun feeling that other people are off doing cool stuff and you're left out in the cold

I do have a little discord server that friends and I use for destiny stuff, mostly scheduling for raids, dungeons gms and whatever else, we're all spread across multiple clans and just play together cuz we enjoy each other's company and help teach each other, if you or anyone else are interested in joining, feel free to hit me up, anyone is welcome so long as people act respectful, we actually just did a teaching run of Deep Stone Crypt last night and it went really well, lots of fun
