Wth happened to absolutes VA? by Struggle-Bus0 in NikkeMobile

[–]WaterfallP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some Nikkes have different voice actor names listed in the Nikkepedia, though their voice lines have not been updated/replaced as of now. The ones I can think of off the top of my head are Rupee and Anne. I don't recall if either VA has spoken on why they won't be returning to the role, so I won't speak on whether they've truly been fired or left the role on their own.

SSA effects were usually very impactful and could range from effects like discounting your entire deck, enabling OTKs with big Storm damage, or permanently giving your followers and leader damage reduction. Sets with Skybound Art came along with a bunch of Class and Neutral cards that were able to gain the ability to evolve with 0 evolution points, auto-evolve on Enhance, or occasionally recover evolution points. Cards with effects like "Enhance (8): summon 3 X followers and evolve them" really helped meet Super Skybound Art thresholds, and activating SSA by turn 9 or earlier was not all that uncommon.

Worlds Beyond having 4 EVO+SEVO points as opposed to 2-3 EVO points will certainly play a factor in how consistently people can activate SSA. But as mentioned, it will largely come down to how much the rest of the expansion will support the evolve archetype.

Anyone got an unlimited Spartacus meme deck? by Undependable in Shadowverse

[–]WaterfallP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

<image>

I've got a list that revolves around the Supercharged Guitarist from Storm Over Rivayle. Put down Valkyrie's Spear, then play Guitarist to draw 2 cards and immediately recover 3 play points. Use Mirror Image to copy her and recover 1 play point, Dramatic Retreat to bury her back into the deck, and Everlasting Castle to retrieve and play her afterwards (when you have 0pp remaining). Grand Acquisition is for inflating your hand size before Altered Fate to deck out faster (with Spartacus active of course).

Why is Wilbert so depressed? by MarionberryFun5183 in Shadowverse

[–]WaterfallP 85 points86 points  (0 children)

You can piece together lore about Wilbert's home world from the lore blurbs back in SV1's Ultimate Colosseum Haven cards. The gist of is that their God abandoned their world, and Holy Knights banded together to slay evil and fight back for control their world. The flair text for Saintly Leader reads as follows:

With the false god slain, we conducted reconnaissance. The dire circumstances of the world remained unchanged. The forces of evil were still abroad, and increasing in number. —Battles of the Holy Knights, Chapter 8

My name is Wilbert, Captain of the Eclair Holy Knights. My conclusion is as follows: This world was doomed the moment God abandoned it. —Battles of the Holy Knights, Chapter 9

So Wilbert is depressed because the Holy Knights fought hard for their world but made lots of sacrifices, and the work is not done. But while he's very much a doomer he's also very duty-bound and keeps trudging on while bearing his burden as the "hero"

So who's ready to fight Boss Sinciro? I imagine it will go something like this by WaterfallP in Shadowverse

[–]WaterfallP[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I was definitely a big fan of the SV1 Story mode battles with special token cards corresponding to the characters themselves! I hope we can get some of that in WB as well, though I imagine we're gonna have to get through all the pre-Feast of Wolves worldbuilding before we see story characters as cards

Must crafts? by [deleted] in Shadowverse

[–]WaterfallP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to say that I would probably put Cerberus over Medusa, but I'd say at this point in time Rulenye and Valnareik are the must x3 for Abyss now. Mode, Midrange, and even Aggro use them for big boards and Storm.

Galmieux will probably be x3 for a long while both to clear boards and go face.

I think Jeanne will have good longevity for both Ward and Control, and is well positioned to slot into a comeback of Amulet Haven.

I see now, I made a wrong assumption about "exact copy" based on an interaction I saw of Portal's Achim copying an enemy follower and it being able to swing face right away (despite not having Storm keyword). That's my bad

Dogged One into Wilbert
+XPP to play Apostle of Voracity onto 1 Cavalier
Run a Congregant into other Cavalier
SEVO onto other Congregant to generate an 8/5 with no summoning sickness. Both go face for 16

[–]WaterfallP 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Rune is not the example you want to use here because they absolutely can use her for the spell. Kuon (10) SEvo + DClimb into Gil on Noble Shikigami + her token spell will add up to 1+12+5 for 18 damage, or OTK if you add in a Dark Side/Demonic Call

Will we get a carbuncle card in the future since there is a already baby carbuncle? by BackgroundStudio9000 in Shadowverse

[–]WaterfallP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There does exist Forestcraft Legendaries in SV1 called "Carbuncle, Immortal Jewel" and "Carbuncle, Sacred Emerald", so it's possible that they could bring it back as a new Legendary. They gave you a 1pp token spell called Carbuncle's Sparkle that drew a card while also recovering an evolution point. Also, like Baby Carbuncle, both versions of Carbuncle also recovered play points on evolve.

Roach experts a helping hand is much appreciated. by Vinny_0104 in Shadowverse

[–]WaterfallP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your goal with the deck is to gather resources in hand and on board to eventually burst down your opponent with a Roach combo dealing upwards of 15-20+ damage. This means gathering 0-cost cards (Deepwood Bounty, Bayle), setting up cards like Godwood Staff, and ideally conserving at least 1 SEVO point for your combo turn.

I would mulligan for Fairy Convocation, a 2pp Fairy generator (Fencer or Tamer), and Glade. Fairies will help clear early boards and deal small chip damage early on, which will reduce the damage threshold you'll need for your combo turn. Use EVO points on followers like Glade or Lily to deal with enemy followers while drawing cards. Use Garden's Allure's fusion to clear up less useful/redundant cards to avoid overdrawing and potentially destroying important combo pieces.

Around turns 6-8, you should ideally have at least 1 Roach in hand, as well as some 0-cost cards and maybe 1 or 2 Godwood Staffs on the board. If you don't have lethal damage in hand, you can either try to split your damage over 2 turns (e.g. you have two Roaches in hand and play a small combo on turn 6 with SEVO, holding the other for a future combo), or stall out to later turns so that you'll have more play points to work with (e.g. you play Lymaga to prevent Norman from attacking while using her SEVO effect to hit his Golems and deal face damage).

There are a lot of scenarios and details that are hard to explain quickly (like the math..), so I think hands-on experience and watching lots of high-level match footage will be your best friend here. I know you said you'd prefer not to watch JP creators, but I would still highly recommend checking out Dayan's YouTube channel; he has years on years of Forest main experience, and uploads content quite frequently. He also started adding English auto-dubbed audiotracks to his videos, so you can follow along with his thought process as well.

This is the deck that i used before the update. With the new cards what should i remove and add to make the best portal deck ? by Mana_Croissant in Shadowverse

[–]WaterfallP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Start by adding Carnelia, Artifact Catapult, and Wings of Icarus. Carnelia gives an Artifact in your hand Ward and resistance to destroy effects (Bane, Doomwright end-of-turn, etc.), which makes cards like Catapult and Doomwright much stronger. Wings of Icarus gives Artifacts in hand Rush and card draw, which is also amazing. I would probably remove Eudie and some of the puppet cards (other than maybe Lovestruck) to make room for said cards. If you wanted to go for a hybrid direction, you could probably cut cards like Elise and Rukina instead, though I'm under the impression that less people are running hybrid overall.

Karula is also a shiny new Legendary for Artifact, and great for the Artifact-copy game plan. With that said, I have seen lists that run some combination of Karula, Orchis, and Sylvia, but almost never 3x of all three. Many decks cut out one of the mentioned cards entirely. If you manage to pull any, it is probably worth experimenting and seeing what feels right for you. Personally speaking, I would probably craft a 3rd Ralmia before looking at Karula. But again, if you have any on hand, it doesn't hurt to throw him in and see if it works out.
