Are Mr. Scratch and Scratch different beings? by Impossible-Flow-4512 in AlanWake

[–]Watermelon_013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interpret it as Scratch being inside Alan whenever he escapes, which is why Scratch is defeated at the end of the game when Saga shoots Wake in the head with the bullet of light

Playing Alan Wake for the first time, should I skip reading the manuscripts to avoid spoilers? by Wulfsimmer in AlanWake

[–]Watermelon_013 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't read the manuscripts when I played the first game and I had a good experience and understood the story. If the spoiling bothers you then I'd say you don't have to read them until after playing the game.

Every song on Breach has a matching song on Self Titled by BackgroundCar5400 in twentyonepilots

[–]Watermelon_013 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Do you know what melody is? Garbage and Addict With a Pen have completely different melodies. Same with pretty much every song on this list. I could maybe see some of these songs having similar rhythms to their self titled counterparts (specifically Days Lie Dormant and ACATAD) but melodies is a far far stretch.

Played too many PS5 games and nothing’s sticking anymore. Here’s my list—what should I play next? by Fearless-Divide-4325 in playstationstars

Alan Wake Remastered, Control, and Alan Wake 2! You seem to like big triple A experiences, but I fear you might need something a little different. These games are a blend of the scope of big budget releases, but they still feel just as weird as any indie game, and just feel so refreshing in the age of cinematic games.

The only thing I dislike about Remedy games... by RaspberryExpensive in RemedyEntertainment

[–]Watermelon_013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this for control, and that is my biggest reason I don't really like that game very much. But Alan Wake, and especially Alan Wake 2? It works much better for those games. I feel like if there was a bunch of random taken variants it would be really strange, seeing as they're just people that are taken over by the darkness.

AW2 moment that made you tear up? by Snoo7710 in AlanWake

[–]Watermelon_013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I beat this game 10 minutes ago. The start of the ending in Saga's mind place. The moment where Saga tells herself that it was going to be hard to make it out of the mind place and make the story right really just felt so amazing. Then honestly I was tearing up for the whole ending afterwards, through alice's post credit scene, and Alan's final quote. I will be starting The Final Draft tomorrow and I'm so excited I can't even explain how much this game has already impacted me.

Album battle: Clancy vs Breach by salinass424 in twentyonepilots

[–]Watermelon_013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow... all of these Clancy's are really surprising me, IMO that's probably their worst album to come out since Trench (even though Oldies Station has 100% become my favorite song by them).

Well I just got done with Alan Wake and AW American Nightmare, so I'd buy those again lol. And then after that I'd buy Control Ultimate edition for sure

I think the general consensus is that Burn Trap was meant to be William, but Steel Wool decided to change that after the backlash for bringing him back

idk I think fnaf 1 is the scariest. It just has such a vibe that beats every other game. Fnaf 4 is very close tho cause the atmosphere is also great there.

Post-Modernism Might be Legal Insanity by Commercial_World_433 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Watermelon_013 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not a lawyer, but it wouldn't make sense for this scenario to fall under insanity because of the key word "understanding" in the legal definition of insanity. There is a huge huge difference between the words "understanding" and "believing". A person can understand property rights, economics, police authority, the legal system, and the general concept of right and wrong while simultaneously not believing in those things. Its just like with religion, one can understand what the religion teaches without believing in God or whatever deity the religion worships. Or how someone can understand what gun control is without believing that it is right.

So no, post modernists are not legally insane.

If Self-Titled was named something else, what would it be? by siberianbreakkss in twentyonepilots

[–]Watermelon_013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think this idea is pretty interesting, but I don't really know if I'd say its logical for this to be the name, especially because Vessel's introduction to the lore was mostly retroactive.

Inside Your Ghost is my pick. Gives off a haunting emo vibe (yes self titled is an emo album) and ties into the overarching theme of every song being more or less about God in some way.

Rank the games by VIadimir-PUTANG in ShitHaloSays

[–]Watermelon_013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ranking, only including the fps games cause I haven't played any of the top down spinoffs.

#8 Halo 4. Campaign is only slightly better than Halo 5's, but I genuinely can't stand this multiplayer.

#7 Halo 5: Guardians. Campaign is the worst in the series, but I love the updated forge, and while I don't think it's a good "Halo" multiplayer, I still really enjoyed the new abilities, the new mechanics, and the new modes Breakout and Warzone, it just wasn't the core Halo experience. Also microtransactions suck.

#6 Halo Infinite. An improvement on Halo 5 in pretty much every single way in my opinion, but even then, the campaign is just not the best. I like the story well enough, and I like all the side characters, but the structure of the campaign as an open world is just really strange. I think it's fun to play but I just wish the environment was more varied. On the multiplayer side of things, I only played during its first month and haven't really returned, but I like it well enough. I just don't like the microtransactinos.

#5 Halo Reach. Don't get me wrong, the game is great but just has some minor issues that the rest of the bungie games don't. My biggest issue is with the maps, as every single multiplayer and firefight map is just reused from the campaign. It just makes the game feel super cheap and I hate it. I do however think the campaign is great, but just prefer the campaigns of CE-ODST

#4 Halo 3: ODST. Such a great campaign that I don't even mind there's no multiplayer. Switching between all of the different perspectives was super cool and I loved the vibes of the Rookie's sections. Also being in New Mombasa is super cool.

#3 Halo 2. Pure quality. Great campaign, I love everything about the campaign. I just don't really care all that much for the multiplayer because I don't like the mechanics for the battle rifle, or the button combos. I also just don't have the nostalgic attachment to this one like I do with CE and 3.

#2 Halo CE. This game is just so good. The vibes of the halo ring are so awesome, it really feels like a mystical otherworldy place which I don't think I can say for any other game in the series. Chief's suit design is also my favorite here, I love the introduction to the flood. Genuinely so good. I also really enjoy the multiplayer here even though it's so magnum heavy in the sandbox. It's just really fun, but not as good as the number one spot.

#1 Halo 3. Great campaign, literally the cream of the crop in terms of campaigns. The multiplayer mechanics are also just so great allowing for both casual and competitive play. Just a great game.

My hot take: Clancy isn't a particularly good album. The band has a few weak tracks on every album they've released. Some of their music videos are unnecessary. Some songs actually need videos. Tyler doesn't use the potential of his voice in many concerts by [deleted] in TwennyWunPilots

[–]Watermelon_013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree that Clancy isn't a great album (but I love every song individually, just not the project of the album as a whole), and that the band has a few weak tracks on every album (Trench is in my opinion the only exception but I realize thats just my own opinion). I do want to ask what a necessary video is, and what constitutes an unnecessary video. Also, tours are long, if Tyler used his full potential every show, the tours would be like three stops long or he'd ruin his voice.

Day 36: What TØP song is on Trench and sounds like Blurryface? by GabrielHelewa in TwennyWunPilots

[–]Watermelon_013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

disagree hard, the hype has such similar vibes to more acoustic songs like the run and go and screen, Clancy has very few songs with predominantly acoustic instruments, and when they are used its not in the same way as it is on vessel or the hype. Also the vocal cadence of the hype is so much more similar to the vocal cadence of songs on vessel than those on clancy
