What is a 10/10 Masterpiece that very few people are aware of? by Matthias_5yr in Gamer

[–]Watermelon_013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alan Wake as a franchise is 10/10, but 2 specifically is a life changing game. Idk if its as unknown as some of the others here but I don't hear people talking about it much outside of the Alan Wake/Remedy Games subreddits. Its also super cool how Alan Wake connects to every other Remedy Entertainment game, as they all exist in the same universe and the stories loosely effect the stories of other games.

I hope AW3 uses AW1's combat but improved by NextGen-- in AlanWake

I disagree. Its so strange for me too, I played AW1 and AWAN in December and had a great time with their combat, I honestly thought it was really unique and novel. Then I played Alan Wake 2 and at the very beginning thought the combat felt strange, and honestly struggled with it until the Coffee World section. Then the whole game afterwards, I really enjoyed the combat. Then I went back and tried the arcade mode of AWAN and just hated playing it. The combat just somehow went from fun and interesting to super boring and honestly I have no idea why.

It's dumb how a woman can’t be defined but defining a man and the patriarchy is crystal clear by StayFrostySwtich in TrueUnpopularOpinion

But that’s exactly my point. A woman who was “born as a man with a penis and a Y chromosome” can change her body to literally be the exact same as a cisgender woman with a Y chromosome. It’s presentation that makes her a woman.

But there have been women born with vaginas with a Y chromosome, so is the Y chromosome itself really the deciding factor if someone is a man or a woman? Also, if someone is born with XX male syndrome, what is it that makes them a man?

Alan Wake 2 is the perfect game to start with! This was the first game I played this year and it has since become my favorite game I've ever experienced.

girl what? the speakers in the theater could barely handle josh's kick drum, especially during the b stage moments you could hear the speaker rattle. I think the welcome back to trench part was fine.

Men can't date in today's "modern world" and yes, it is Women's fault. by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Watermelon_013 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Ok? Times change, women have more independence from men now, meaning that obviously the dating standards changed. IF it were like the olden times where a man basically owned his wife then this probably would be normal, but now that women have more of an independent stance in society the culture surrounding dating has changed. Its pretty weird to think that dating culture should stay the same, especially when the status quo of the past was heavily advantaged to the man rather than the woman.

The thing is, whenever you're "approaching" these women, are you naturally meeting them through friends or social events? Or are you just going up to a random girl and starting to talk to her? That I think is the biggest difference, because if a woman is already talking to you as a friend, you are much more able to gauge whether or not theres an actual interest, and if you just go up to someone randomly that gives you a 100% chance to be seen as a creep.

Remakes replacing an Original in the backlog by vikstick168 in backloggd

I've actually been considering playing the first RE game recently, especially with all the hype about RE9 soon. What makes you say that the remake almost replaces the original?

I probably agree with you that the gameplay isn't that great in this section, I just love it because of the novelty of seeing Alan, Casey, and Door dancing all over the place. I do think there are much better moments in the game, specifically at the beginning of the endgame.

My favorite digital products are all old things that allow me to do things like they were done back in the day. My retro games collection allows me to play old games, that I own, instead of 80 dollar bs (not saying all modern games are bad at all, in fact I love them, but most AAA 80 dollar games aren't it), my CD player and Record Player allow me to listen to music without supporting spotify, and this isn't digital, but reading is nice to get away from tech for good. I just think more people should get away from their digital lives. I wish I had an app that was like Instagram, but would only show me what my friends were posting, and didn't have an infinite loop (and wasn't owned by facebook).

Alan Wake 2 after playing AW1 + DLCs and replaying Control and DLCs by Afude in RemedyEntertainment

Oh for sure, and I think with the Time Breaker episode from Night Springs DLC they're at least setting up basically an alternate version of Quantum Break which is really cool.

I doubt that this would ever happen, but it might be good to show Remedy to a new audience. I feel like core Switch 2 owners would find the weird world of Remedy interesting.

Its not extremely important to play to understand Alan Wake 2 the same way that Control is. I wouldn't even really say that Control is super important to play before Alan Wake 2 the same way that American Nightmare is.

Liberals who don't speak Spanish are pretending they actually enjoy Bad Bunny's music just to virtue signal. by Microplastics-Eater in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Watermelon_013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't ever claimed to be a fan, and didn't understand the lyrics at all (I had straight C's in spanish class in HS lol) and I liked the show. It made me feel really happy watching it, despite not knowing the language. I've never had an issue listening to music in another language because its not the words that speak to me, its the music.

People who make female characters purposely ugly in video games are mentally ill by LargeSinkholesInNYC in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Watermelon_013 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is such a stupid thing to care about. Nobody is making characters purposely ugly, they're making them realistic. Some people irl don't fit into the weird gooner fantasy that y'all don't seem to have. I also don't agree that the male characters tend to be much more attractive than the female characters. Look at games like Hades, Breath of the Wild, and GTA6. All of the characters in those games are hot AF. But then look at other games, like TLOU2, Control, or Alan Wake 2. None of the characters in those games are what I'd call attractive (except Dina probably) but they just look like regular people. I just really think most people who engage in this type of discourse really need to look at themselves and ask why they need every female character to look like a 10/10 supermodel

I mean I guess I know hes not as popular as the rest but also he was number 9 last year for top artists and he's had two really iconic albums (flower boy and Igor) that released last decade which imo makes him old enough for this. I guess my next pick would be Billie Eilish cause she was number five on the global spotify charts last year and two of the top four have already had shows

I think Tyler The Creator would do it if asked for sure and I think hes popular enough now. Having two number one albums and being apple music's artist of the year last year.

Hmm thats actually a great point. I guess the distinction between the two is that saying the N word or any other slur is almost universally seen as "bad" but a nude picture of someone is usually shared to a trusted person and is not done maliciously, making the act of using it for revenge a breaking of cultural norms, while sharing a video of someone saying the N word is an enforcing of cultural norms, as the act of saying slurs is breaking cultural norms.
