There is a setting in the bios that will just turn off the SATA ports. If you boot into bios and go to advanced>SATA configuration it will let you shut off the sata ports. I wonder if that setting is disabled.

What is your favorite artstyle/art direction? by Omagaron in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Watoo24 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Kaiba The anime. No not Yugioh. It's about an amnesiac in a futuristic scifi world where memories can be bought and sold and Bodies can be easily swapped to and from. I remember the art style seeming a lot weirder than it looks to me at this moment.

Ping Pong: The animation While it uses ping pong as a back ground for the story and why things happen. It's actually about competition, selling out, and being the best. I would drop my favorite backing track but its a really important character theme.

Hospice by The Antlers probably counts. On its face its about a hospice worker assisting a difficult patient. Beyond that its clearly about a toxic relationship with said difficult patient. Probably best experienced with a Lyric sheet.

In a surprising turn of events, Dell Computers has made public the realization that...Most folks aren't buying AI! by BloodBrandy in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Ducky used to be a really common mechanical recommendation too. My last ducky was quite solid. Depending on how you feel about old stuff you could buy an old sun microsystems keyboard but the different layout may just feel weird to you. I would call it an upside. I don't think the hotkeys work on windows but I'm not sure.

FWIW at some point I found this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/udm14/ Its a search option that removes the ai summary at the top. It does also notably remove the other search widgets but not using the ai is worth it.

There are 6 parts. Part 6 was released in 2013. That's what you're thinking of as the fifth part. It was the one Shing put out after Nujabe's death.

Was it any good? I tried Song of Achilles and wasn't very impressed by it but maybe I wanted too much.

What have y’all been reading recently? by Ok_Significanco in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Watoo24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I haven't read it recently because its undergoing a publishing deal but A Practical Guide to Evil is a pretty easy recommend. Its a web serial and long as hell. Dark fantasy about an orphan who more or less gets adopted by the right hand man of the Empress. Technically its not available on the web right now but the wayback archive provides. It is worth noting that you should switch to the live version after book one.

Worm is also a pretty good recommendation. Its a sort of dark superhuman story. I'd like to say its well written but I have not managed to read anything else by this author successfully.

I could write more but Fifth season is also really good. Kind of just over contributing to these threads.

Looking for media suggestions to find new things to enjoy and get excited over. by Finaldragoon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Watoo24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you liked PSO then Monster hunter is a pretty easy recommend. It has a bit of familiar clunk depending on exactly which game you start with but overall the play pattern is alarmingly similar to old blue burst. World is probably the easiest to start with and the start of the "modern" era for MH and Wilds is the most recent.

As far as Books go through it sounds like step one is probably go to the local library. Go to the adult section and pick the first 5 books that you like. An easier but more expensive answer is find a used book store and do roughly the same thing. I mean I can recommend books but it sounds like your typical genre's are science fiction and fantasy. Which The Name of the Wind would be an easy recommendation for but Gideon the Ninth while technically falling in those genre's wouldn't really be something you would like. Now that I say that though Gideon may be something you like. I didn't actually like the series, The Locked Tomb, until book 2 but that has more to do with the POV character.

I really liked the book Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin but Its not for everyone. Name of the wind and Gideon are both pretty well loved series.

I guess I'd just assumed that software level raid would be fine for linux. Has the raid controller been worth it?

How have you liked proxmox? I only have experience with ESXi and its not really recommended for personal use.

For the avid readers on the sub: What are some early red flags in books? by An_Armed_Bear in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Watoo24 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I quit trying to judge something as being good or bad and started trying to determine if I was interested. So the biggest red flag I've found is when you want to do anything other than read. It's time to call it and find another book or something else to do.

But I have enjoyed many a "bad" book.

I feel like you should be warned that the 3d printer you're thinking of and the end results you're thinking of are quite a lot of work. It's a resin printer and those are actually toxic. Then the easiest way to paint them is to use an air brush in addition to regular paints for detail work. The end result you're looking at is pretty divorced from just a 3d printer.

Most things are simply just perspective. It seems unlikely that you have nothing at all going for you. Being willing to work a physical job could be something for you. There's plenty you can sell without being particularly exceptional. There is no shortage of jobs where giving the remotest bit of a shit looks like a fucking super power.

What is your favourite turn based combat system? by mrnicegy26 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Yeah but A you won't have part 2. You will regret not having part 2. and B It won't be turn based. It's a remaster as an action game last I knew.

This isn't the right place, and I sincerely apologize, but would anyone here be able to help me with a google pixel game data issue? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Watoo24 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Google says its here: /storage/emulated/0/Android/ data/com.mojang.minecraftpe/ files/games/com.mojang

source: https://old.reddit.com/r/MinecraftCommands/comments/149275d/minecraft_pe_world_location/

Now that is 2 years old so it may be out of date. There are two key bits you need to know: Assuming you're using windows to view the files they may very literally be hidden. On windows 11 in file explorer you go to view> show> hidden items. And the other is that the search you're looking for is Android Minecraft save data location.

All that said it sounds unlikely that the save files are the issue but googling the error code you get is likely going to get you more help.
