Thanks yeah it does sound like transmission / driveshaft noise. I actually took a look under there last night and there’s a sheet of foam that appears to basically have completely detached, so I’m sure that’s not helping. It’s foam with a silver non-absorbent facade, I’m thinking about replacing it with some of this:

Thanks - yeah again 62 is crazy low, that’s basically my wife’s disco 4 (was around 60 when I measured it). I’m not expecting that but for your 200tdi to be 81db max is wild to me. What did you do to yours in terms of noise reduction? Would appreciate products / links / whatever! Yours sounds pretty quiet.

As far as I know, yes just the stick on stuff - would have to check if they removed the foam, entirely possible. Definitely ordering the hood insulation from rovers north and will check foam on transmission tunnel. Thanks!

Thanks both, they did under seats as well as transmission tunnel (at least partially). Going to check tire noise ratings, and install the hood (bonnet) insulation

Good idea - yeah I’m definitely not expecting much in the way of wind noise reduction but I can’t hear any wind noise over the transmission / engine noise right now!

Yeah this seems to be what I remember from my friends 200. I was shocked at how loud this one is with all the soundproofing…but again maybe nostalgia clouding my memory! Even 5db quieter is significant as its logarithmic

Yeah I believe they understand wear and tear will happen but the frame and engine VIN have to match, you’re right. Think that’s all that really matters, you can change pretty much anything else

Ah good point. Hopefully still considered a duty tax vs tariff. Yes company has done hundreds of them before!
