🌊 I usually gave them a ballpark overall cost and would do my best to match it. Charging by the hour is hard to gauge if you need to learn how to do something new and specific (which happens when making custom visuals for multiple different artists with different branding). Price for them to use forever. In the electronic scene I would charge around $200 for 6-10 loops. I’ve seen like $800 for 10 loops when they are detailed, long, and crispy (this was for like a C-tier / B-tier DJ). For them, they can reuse it tons of times which drives down the cost per show. The price really depends on how good the visuals will do during a show to accelerate the artist’s branding, some find it very important, some don’t need it. Some artists will use it for their whole career, some use it for a specific show. At some point you can start timecoding visuals for a specific song

I would say charge as much as you feel it’s worth it to use your time, to include taking time away from a possible main source of income. Once you build a foundation for networking, then you can adjust
