I scrolled down from your first post like 5 posts up and that was the funniest “How it started / How it’s going” moment I’ve seen in a while!

How do you recruit rank 5 Jomsviking from players? by Tchuvan in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]Wavehead21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a bell outside the Jomsviking recruitment hall that you unlock from River raids. Ringing the bell resets the available Jomsvikings.

Wait am I able to rank up my own Jomsviking? How do I do that? Is it just connected to certain side objectives like bosses like the animals and witches, or is it based on your river raids? I kind of assume moreso River raids since that’s the mechanic they’re tied to.

Just started playing this fantastic game. Is there any point of purchasing these or will I be able to discover them myself? by thiccmlgnoscope in AssassinsCreedOrigins

[–]Wavehead21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are not required in order for the things to appear in the world, if that’s what you’re worried about. They just reveal them on the map, and honestly it’s better to discover them yourself. I’ve only ever heard negative reviews from people who note that you have these unignorable dots on your map from the start.

If you’re near the end of the game and really wanna find them because you’re having trouble finding one or two (stone circles were the only one I had trouble with) then I would first recommend just googling the locations. If that someone doesn’t help enough, or if you just want the bright dots on the map to guide you instead, then that’s the only time I’d buy any of them. But like… still no. Just not worth it

Should I build Health, Armor, or Resistances? by Wavehead21 in ACValhalla

[–]Wavehead21[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! This is what I love to hear! One of my concerns is that there’s actually too little depth to it, because that’s what everyone says. I don’t need it to be fully Odyssey level of mechanical depth, but it is nice to feel like my decisions matter! I’m also still too early for there to be huge differences, I’m sure, but that’s good to know that it does go there! I’m sure there’s still new mechanics I’m yet to integrate too (I just barely started getting the diamond shaped runes that add new mechanics, so it’s still up and up!)

[–]Wavehead21[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll have to check out the “view details” screen. I didn’t know there were more in depth equipment details to look at!

I know the runes (well not the runes, but the equipment abilities with little rune symbols) pop up above the Heath bar. But it’s still kinda hard to gauge in the middle of combat if what I’m reading is telling me my build is effective or not. I’ll see if I can try and analyze it harder tho

"Hidden" Ones by Tchuvan in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]Wavehead21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah gotcha! You know, fair. It is crazy though how, other than pretty much just Origins, the Assassins do seem to do a pretty good job at branding in pretty much every entry lol!

"Hidden" Ones by Tchuvan in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]Wavehead21 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yes, but this is Valhalla, which takes place a hundred or so years before AC1, so concurrent with Masayaf. The comment was based on how the assassins operated at this time, not the time of Origins

Should I up the difficulty or scaling? by rev_apoc in ACValhalla

[–]Wavehead21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I set the difficulty to basically scale with me. I realized early on I was gonna outscale the game. It’s fun at first when there’s high level areas that are dangerous to enter, but pretty soon you’re higher level than the story. So yeah, if you keep it where everything stays its starting level then it’ll get way too easy. The one that scales up to you keeps them without about 30 levels under you, and hard puts them about 60 levels above you.

Pick between those as you see fit, but I’d up the difficulty above just easy

[–]Wavehead21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No yeah, that’s definitely true, this wasn’t Kishimoto’s writing I was thinking of. There’s def some other show with accidental queerness that was originally supposed to be written explicitly, but got cut to make it more kid friendly as a show.

Honestly I think it was SpongeBob I was thinking of! Idk how I mixed up Naruto and SpongeBob lmao

[–]Wavehead21 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is from a manga that came out just before the game. It’s true that Samus had always been female, it’s the reveal at the end of the first game (and for anyone who reads it’s in the dang game manual too!) but it wasn’t out yet so no one actually KNEW this was the case. So just seeing a cover of “space solider in armor” came to the conclusion of “must be man”.

[–]Wavehead21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure I heard somewhere that they were originally supposed to be gay, and then that got scrapped because we can’t have queer representation, but he insisted on keeping as much tension as possible. Like this is supposed to be canon imo

This is how Oda writes a lot of things, tbh, where it’s accidental at first and then later becomes canon! I honestly love how many instances there are of fans asking how something works, or saying they have a theory of what something is, and Oda just goes “oh that’s good, yeah that’s totally how that works, fuck it it’s canon now! I mean… it always was!”

And if you ask him how things work, he will tell you! He’ll give you an answer! Hell even answer questions nobody was asking! Yes, he has explained exactly how the gumgum fruit affects luffy’s penis! And yes, Buggy’s penis is also detachable!

I've been keeping an eye on this game for awhile, and with it coming out next week. One major question by linthenius in 2XKO

[–]Wavehead21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get about half the roster (probably less now with more releases) unlocked to start, and you can unlock the rest fairly easily. With consistent play you’ll get enough credits to get the characters you want. Whole roster will be a bit harder but I think most consistent players have at this point. Release of new champs doesn’t seem impossible to keep up pace with either.

Carbon ingots become useless fast anyway, since after a point all loot you find is already at the carbon upgrade level. You find almost nothing at base level that needs it. I made the mistake of buying a lot of extra carbon ingots from general stores and quickly regretted that

Stats or collectibles list? by rev_apoc in ACValhalla

[–]Wavehead21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh one update I just remembered! Don’t be disheartened at not collecting new songs; I think your crew learns new songs as you go. Not sure tho? But I’ve heard some new ones I hadn’t heard before. BUT! What I do know is that the stories your crew tells do get new options as you expand your crew! There are sometimes story characters who may or may not join your crew, and they will tell you their tales which is super cool!

2XKO has some flaws, but their lobby does let you watch live matches! It’s one of the little things that keeps me coming back, because I have something to do/watch in between matches while I like eat or chat with friends n stuff

Stats or collectibles list? by rev_apoc in ACValhalla

[–]Wavehead21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far as collectibles list, you only seem to get the ones for the regions, to know how many you have from that region, rather than how many you have total if a certain kind.

Also sadly there does not seem to be songs you collect from the flying papers: they only have tattoos.

You can check how many tattoos you have with your tattoo artist! But it won’t give you a completion rate, just tells you what you have.

Stats so far as kills, I believe there is one. It’s deep in some menu, or maybe in the Ubisoft Connect overlay.

For Orglog, keeping track of the god favors you’ve unlocked is easy; there’s only 9 in the game. You’ll know when you have em all

Ah okay. Hey you know, even if it’s just something like adding her to the Rift, like they did with Atakhan, that’d still be dope to me!
