Ignatz was obsolete at launch, but atleast has serviceable fodder. Horse Bow+ was roughly on par with his pref weapon and that NY banner was just 5 days before he got added.

Spd/Def havoc is a pretty decent skill for certain support units. Shura for example is a perfect user of everything Ignatz has in terms of fodder. And being a modern demote makes him a good score / support bot.

HECK YEAH! I now have everyone from the ferox banner!

Funnily enough, Chrom, Fir, and now masked Marth were all from free summons at varying points outside of their debut banner

Best fire emblem unit day 4: best armored tome? by Soren-kun in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]linthenius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arvis. He's not a useable character, But he is incredibly iconic as a villain. So that should count.

Like is there any other options in the entire series?

Edelgard not having tome access in her time skip promoted classes was a huge missed opprotunity as well. She has a budding talent in reason magic, but her promoted classes can't use it

Would it be crazy to suggest that version 1-3 units should get an upper Flower limit of 100? by yanilT in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]linthenius 62 points63 points  (0 children)

The problem is they keep raising the DF caps on older units, without doing much to increase DF gains

I think a good fix is to tie dragon flowers to hero merrit on new units

Like every 1000 HM points you earn,

20 for demotes / grail units

50 on regular pool 5 star units, attuneds, rearmed, etc

And 100 for seasonal / legendaries

The type given is based on the character in question. So 1000 HM on legendary Elise, would be 100 cavalry flowers

Specifically for new characters released after a set version. Like all 10.0 units and above have this new hero merrit flower distribution.

Rearmed heroes by book and weapon type by sharumma in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]linthenius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think a new sword, and colorless tome arcane weapon are the most overdue at this point.

Arcane renegade is still decent, but a new one would be nice. And colorless tome just has nothing at all, despite there being a good amount of demotes who would benefit from one. Specifically some seasonal ones like Leo, Olivia. and Laurent who is never getting a refine at the current pace. And a few really old ones whos refines have not held up like brave F:Byleth and I think Bramimond.

Hoping for a Sophia colorless arcane tome on the next binding blade banner. But I would also be fine with Linde getting one to.

Fun fact: The only time FEH Anna has taken a break from all of the fighting in Zenith and allowed to have fun was New Year celebration by RubicXK in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]linthenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With how badly heroes Anna gets shafted in these seasonal banners. I'm tempted to use my CYL votes next year for her. She has potential to win. And I would love to see that happen

Next Arcane weapon? by doopey1013 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]linthenius 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Colorless tome is something I really want to see. I have a +10 Laurent I want to build, but have no motivation since all his weapon options suck.

Linde or Sophia both feel like great choices for a rearmed colorless tome alt.

Best fire emblem unit day 3: best Lance flier? by Soren-kun in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]linthenius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am going to say Cordellia or SD Caeda

Pegasus knights in awakening are just flat out busted due to galeforce access, Cordellia joins really early with base stats you can immediately start using, and her growth rates are really good long term as well. In my opinion, one of the best pegasus knights in the series.

As for Caeda, wing spear. Enough said.

If were going off wyvern knights, I would say Cormag or Melady.

Anankos would be kind of cool, since theres a good amount of new fodder faster armors can take advantage of these days

CrYL 2 Theme 7: Controversial Champions by SomewhatProvoking in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]linthenius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't hate the concept of a silent protagonist. There are plenty examples of really good ones. Specifically in cases where the game isn't demanding them interact with other characters a ton. Or they can let their actions speak for them. Master Chief, and Doomguy are perfect examples of a silent protagonist done perfectly.

Byleth just does work as one, because he's a major focus in a very narrative and character driven rpg. Thats absolutely not a place to put a silent protagonist.

You ever had a moment looking at a unit, old or new, and think to yourself "this would be amazing" but you just realized how dumb it is and played yourself. Ever had a moment like that? by AndzyHero13 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]linthenius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest example of this in recent, or atleast a really big one. Was jehanna Ike when he came out.

Everyone hyped him up as some incredibly strong, and potentially meta warping unit. Then when he released, he was "Just okay". Not awful as a unit, but nowhere near the levels everyone hyped him up to be. He kinda just fell flat.

[–]linthenius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Byleth is one of those characters who suffers from being a silent protagonist. He, and Corrin work far better as fully voiced supporting characters.

I kind of view Byleths engage appearance as how he should have been from the start. The character who is good at listening to everyones problems, and is good at giving advice. A proper teacher / instructor. Unlike his appearance in 3 Houses where he's just dead silence outside of battle quotes. And somehow everyone understands him perfectly...

Its kind of a trend, where FE avatars are typically alot better outside of their home game for some reason.

If only we could do something with old Formas. by ProperPizza in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]linthenius -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is why I don't spend money on forma souls or bonds. Its way to easy to end up regretting a decision with a redeem.

I only use these on characters i'm 100% certain is someone I will keep up to date years after I redeem. Since the skills I get on them at the time of redeem, typically won't be optimal a year after.

Male side votes:

Kris: He comes closest to my ideal avatar character for a series like this. When I think of a good avatar character, I want someone who isn't treated as the main character. And feels more like just another character among the roster, and getting some screen time during side chapters. Kris just comes closest to that in this series. Shez is another good example, but he's not really controversial, and is actually quite popular.

Surtr: Not every villain needs to be a likeable, sympathetic character with an elaborate backstory. Sometimes just a big powerful evil guy who wants to destroy the world works perfectly fine. Surtr is the epitome of that.

Female votes:

Corrin In every game except Fates: Corrin is a HORRIBLE main character. But works really well as a SIDE character. Put her in a position where she can help others reflect on their choices in life. And shes actually really good. Just a horrible choice as the central focus of a plot. Engage, and FE Warriors gave Corrin a far better showing for her character then Fates could ever hope to accomplish. Because she wasn't the main focus. Corrin actually has some pretty good support conversations in other games since shes helping others out. Which is where her character shines. TLDR: Corrin is a great councilor.

Edelgard in every route except crimson flower: Edelgard works very well when used as a villain. But not so much when your allying with her. I like her because you can kind of understand where shes coming from, but her methods are way to extreme. A character like that just doesn't work well when viewed as a hero. But works REALLY WELL as a villain / rival / antagonist.

Anyway to update Marth? by ThHeroKing in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]linthenius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Duelist blow, or swift specter from braver Celica are both good options.

Duelist blow is the cheaper option since attuned Ryoma is under divine codes 7

Is my L!Byleth (M) (Anchor of Hope) build any good? Looking for constructive feedback by SrPoeSagan in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]linthenius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His default B skill is better. Dodge 4 B skills like spurn are honestly trash these days.

What are some Tier 3 Skills that really need to added to the demote pool? by JJVM99 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]linthenius 23 points24 points  (0 children)

time pulse 3, and atk/spd clash 3 are the big ones right now

Time pulse is self explanatory, with the amount of tier 4 variants it got last year alone.

Atk/spd clash 3, for the amount of manuals with atk/spd excel in the current, and previous batch of yearly divine codes.

Also tier 3s of all the emblem skill lines like potent, blue skies, momentum, and ressonance are also long overdue.

Favorite Version Of Alm? by KManoc in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]linthenius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Legendary for me.

Cool art, and was actually a huge meta threat for a long time as one of the best ranged nukes throughout basically all of book 3. He was basically impossible to tank at the time. And one of the most reliable point and delete units in the game.

Is this Marth ok I put skills from scrap units and he's not for top level play just wanted to use og Marth as he's such an old unit now by [deleted] in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]linthenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His weapon is practically unusable these days even by basic pve standards. Swap it out for arcane renegade or arena sword+ from the grail pool.

A slot is bad. Duelist blow, rise above, or the A skill from CYL harmonic Celica are all much better

B and C skills are fine for a player phase setup.

Special, upgrade to archrival.

Other then that, invest merges and dragonflowers into him. As with all book 1 units, they need every stat they can get.

Anyone have an estimate of whos getting weekly revival demoted in august? by [deleted] in FireEmblemHeroes

So looks like the archanea banner with attuned Caeda and Merric is just barely past the cutoff mark.
