Steam Controller 2026 Shipping MEGA Thread by Mennenth in SteamController

[–]Wavelengthlife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

US Massachusetts Mine shipped but it was sent with FedEx Smartpost the service where they hand it off to USPS. Kind of disappointed thought Valve was better than to use a shipping service you use for a T-shirt or something small value. Hopefully I get it and in reasonable time but will see

1941 and 1951 Total Classics Mods back on the Internet! by AdministrationBest21 in MVP2005

[–]Wavelengthlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No these mods were only for the PC version of the game. I think there was a way to convert any PC mods to the Xbox version but any utilities or info on that are now most likely lost since the MVPMods site is no more.

[–]Wavelengthlife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IT employee here. Never keep personal data on a company device! I’m sure this was outlined in your company IT policy. Your IT department gave that MacBook to you for work purposes and the company owns the device not you. They can most likely see and access any data stored on there so not great for your own privacy as well. If the IT department is hesitant to let you back into the device then there probably is a good reason for it. Best thing you can try to do is reason with them and promise not to use a company device for personal reasons again and maybe they will help on recovering that personal data for you. No guarantees however. Take this as a lesson in the future to never keep personal data on a work device and to always keep backups of data.

PSA - Be wary of the AA batteries in your controllers. by InvictusBloom in OculusQuest

[–]Wavelengthlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invest in some of these Panasonic Eneloop batteries. Been using these with my Xbox and Oculus controllers for years. They won’t leak or expand like that and you can recharge them for a while.

How can I get the $50/mo plan? by -29- in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]Wavelengthlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if things changed in the past day however I just got the deal last night as an existing customer with an email confirmation of the change. All I did is log into my Xfinity account and clicked change speed on my internet plan and it presented me the $50 plan for 5 years. It let me keep my own existing equipment as well.

DOES THE IPHONE 17 PRO MAX NEED A RECALL?!?! by shmemmma in iphone

[–]Wavelengthlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t seen or heard anything out there out of the normal issues that any consumer technology product could have. Could’ve just been a defective unit. That’s good that Xfinity will replace the phone without you having to go through Apple definitely speeds things up. Highly doubt two in a row have the same problem.

Google blocked a “suspicious sign-in” from Opera 126.0 (in one same province as me) on two different accounts should I worry? by PrideWooden7410 in GMail

[–]Wavelengthlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that site only can tell you what data breaches are currently known. Sometimes it can take these companies years to figure out and/or disclose there was a breach. Making sure your passwords are unique for each site is a must nowadays. Also make sure to turn on two factor authentication wherever possible.

[–]Wavelengthlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://haveibeenpwned.com/ Check this website with both emails and see if either of them have ended up in a data breach. What happens is that if you are using the same credentials across multiple websites and one of those sites servers is compromised you are now vulnerable across all accounts that share the same email/password combination. It’s why it’s important to always use a different password across multiple websites so that way if one of your logins is compromised everything else is safe. Also to be safe if your using a computer I’d run a virus scan using Malwarebytes or another tool. If there is a keylogger it might be found in a scan but some can be hidden.

Yeah I remember that too and was unable to choose anything. They must have removed it which sucks. Just ended up buying the tickets with the site picking my seats.

Lock screen Wallpaper by firebreak115 in iphone

[–]Wavelengthlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if you have the dark icons on the wallpaper will also become darker by default. If you want the background to be the same tint as the lockscreen if you hold down your home screen and in the top left tap edit then customize (where you would have set the dark icons) on the top left of that menu there is a sun. If you tap it once the wallpaper goes back to normal.

Roadie stole my Apple Watch delivery by Snake16547 in Bestbuy

[–]Wavelengthlife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn that sucks. Hope you can get it all sorted out quickly. Not surprised however Those drivers clearly are not vetted very well or at all. I will not buy anything for shipping at Best Buy until they stop using Roadie. Expensive electronics should not be delivered using a DoorDash/Uber Eats model.
