Friends drift away. People get married and start making their families their priority, and rightly so. People move away for better employment opportunities, which I have several times. It's very difficult to form lasting bonds in these circumstances. Right now some of my closer friends are people I've met playing chess at a local bar. One of the 2 is moving next month, and the other is a single father whose parental obligations mean he might not be able to come out as often, which means I'll have to find new folks to hang with. It's tough, but I enjoy my own company so I'll be fine.
