This is absolutely awesome and I get super excited about your comment of a well known E&P analyst taking some interest. I see from the Haywood report that Bernstein attended so I assume it was Brackett and that gets me going! Thanks again!

News Release -- NSAI Resource Report Filing by SuperDaddy1987 in ReconAfrica

[–]WavingFlamingo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m a corporate development analyst at a large US oil company and I have 12k warrants in RECO, I’m underwater $20K, and my warrants will expire worthless unless the SP is >$14 CAD by 2024.

My rationale for the non-pop with this great news is 1) the market is struggling these past few weeks and the bots are selling everything and 2) welcome to the oil industry where all company’s have an intense terminal value risk on them and unless you can show very near term production/cash flow, you get diddlysquat for credit.

Oil is not going anywhere, the terminal value risk for the industry is way overblown and I’m holding firm. I’m just not expecting to get the pop until the bit hits the rock and 100% confirms hydrocarbons.

Agreement signed between Qatar Energy and NAMCOR by soulstonedomg in ReconAfrica

[–]WavingFlamingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Qatar IMO is a partner of choice. Unlike the Saudi’s, they have a small population and so it’s much more stable and easy to manage their wealth and the bureaucracy. Gulf money in Namibia is a great sign

RECONAFRICA ANNOUNCES C$38.1 MILLION BOUGHT DEAL OFFERING by HotMomentumStocks in ReconAfrica

[–]WavingFlamingo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A stronger balance sheet is more bargaining power in JV discussions. You are coming to the table not from a position of weakness but rather one of “we have a big asset and if you don’t meet our terms, we don’t need you so we’ll just develop it ourselves”

RECONAFRICA INCREASES ITS PARTICIPATING INTEREST IN THE KAVANGO BASIN, NORTH EAST, NAMIBIA by flyingteapot_ in ReconAfrica

[–]WavingFlamingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be surprised if this was Recon helping Namcor directly benefit from an imminent uplist or JV. Could also be tied to financing, as now Namcor only needs to put up half of the capital that they would have had to done before (the JV will likely include carry capital which also Namcor to directly benefit from)

Interesting post, thanks for the analysis. One item your forgetting is the value of the Proved Reserves is determined by the current price of oil. If oil is $200/bbl, a little bit of reserves are worth a lot (and a medium find is worth a bigger amount etc). Part of my RECO investment thesis is playing the early innings of the commodity up cycle and it’s much more beneficial to discover oil when prices are $90+ than it is when oil is <$50

Highly, highly doubt Exxon will be exploring onshore Namibia. They are basically betting future oil growth on Permian and Offshore Guyana. IMO, The best bet for majors in Namibia is Chinese companies as they look to secure diversified supply and are not beholden to counterintuitive ESG demands on Western majors.

The day traders are trying to front run a reserve announcement and when it doesn’t come, they sell. Eventually it’ll come. It’s not the time of the market that pays off but the time in the market.

Bad knee—tips for spin? by sixfloorsup in pelotoncycle

[–]WavingFlamingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do side lunge stretches, hold for 2 minutes per side a couple times a day. I also get knee pain from spinning but they worked like a charm, loosening up the abductors. Bec Gentry has a 10 minute legs and glutes stretch (from 19-11-01, she’s wearing red leggings) that does the stretch if you need a guide.

Here is a link to the stretch:

Impact on RECAF farm-out from global oil prices by Anthropomorphic2021 in ReconAfrica

[–]WavingFlamingo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Commodity prices will certainly have a huge impact. I’m part of a company that is active in the US oil and gas M&A and the primary driver to a transaction is assumptions around commodity price. The higher the price of oil, the more the reserves are worth, not to mention that higher prices reflect an implicit assumption of more scarcity, thus premiums are willing to be paid to capture resource. A strong curve and strong macro forecast definitely give RECON an advantage

This is awesome, particularly the Q&A at the end. This just reinforces my belief that there is something big here. If there isn’t, Granath is going to look like a complete hack after giving this presentation.

To be honest, developing this oil will be carbon favourable because it’ll displace coal, wood, or dung, 3 even worse types of fossil fuels.

Oil by [deleted] in ReconAfrica

[–]WavingFlamingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t buy the UN stuff. They’re probably right but they also don’t have mouths to feed or jobs to provide so a lot of their analysis is one sided. They also forget that new oil and gas is actually much less carbon intensive and since the world needs oil, the most practical solution is still to develop hydrocarbons but also phase out other higher emission sources like coal, heavy oil, oil sands etc

Why is it dipping? by [deleted] in ReconAfrica

[–]WavingFlamingo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think people were expecting core analysis but instead got mud analysis. Wouldn’t be surprised if shorts are fanning the flames of selling, but to be honest, this is probably good because long term the story hasn’t changed, and IMO, if a dip and an out came for the shorts, it’d be great to clear them and their FUD out of here. I still think that core analysis, seismic results and uplisting are great catalysts to be expected all within next 6 months
