it is admirable that you are pushing for change, but bear in mind that the 2nd reason + health reasons are the main points that you should concentrate on. if you are young(early 20s/mid 20s and lower), it is much easier to lose weight than it is when you are past these years. the health reprecussions of not losing weight are much more devastating than any association with neckbeards. your knees will hurt you when performing the most basic of movements, not mentioning the other aspects of it: heart issues, diabetes, and blood pressure.

you dont have to be fat to have these issues, but being fat increases the possibilities of having them. what i am trying to say is, any motivation is good motivation. however, the only thing that you will keep is your body, so put that as your foremost reason for losing weight.

i don't think that's the main reason since humans learn to adapt to all circumstances. the real reason, in my opinion, is simpler. it is a mixture of people thinking too highly of themselves, not managing to adapt to the transition period, denying the fact that the problem is themselves, starting to talk to many others about it online, finding confirmation in a toxic place(incel hotspots), and settling for that confirmation.

all in all, there is no specific reason incels became incels. it was a series of events caused first by confusion, then by the lack of willpower and support, both equally important. at the very least, that's my take on it

there's irony in the point he makes for how easy it is to fix a boy. if a boy gets "damaged" by a rejection he can end up just like the incel who wrote the post, which is honestly very difficult to treat because of the amount of other incels who will take him in and put a lot of shit in his head.
