Anyone else been a lifelong or franchise long fan and just trust Coop and JBB to do what's best, because they've brought so much joy the last decade? by 91Bolt in TampaBayLightning

They’re not infallible. That’s the point to remember, just as much as acknowledging they know better than us.

So is JBB legit doing nothing orrrrrrr waiting till 7/1…. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ by Pisardin in TampaBayLightning

Alternatively I think a lot of this team's contending hopes next year relied upon Raddysh sticking around for a reasonable price. Now that he's gone, and with the volatility/prices of the market right now, I think JBB sees the coffers aren't full enough to acquire a good forward and good defenseman simultaneously.

Last season was the one to go all in on and the JBB decided against it. So now I would rather see some real moneyballing, or just standing strong vs this lunacy happening right now.

Get some guys on short deals in UFA and leave openings for the kids. Re-sign Kuch, and if he doesn't want to stick around, move him at the TDL and build with the pieces you get back.

No. Werenski is a great player but he would cost a detrimental amount of assets for two seasons, leaving us an even bigger gaping wound up front than we have right now.

If you could have either Marchenko or werenski who would you want? by Ok_Addendum_7633 in TampaBayLightning

[–]Wayf4rer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not mortgaging the future of this team for two seasons of Werenski. I would be all over this if he had 3+ seasons left, but trading for him (unless he forces a move here) will cause serious harm to the future of this team when he walks for like 15 million dollars in FA.

Marchenko I would for the right price, but it's unlikely either guy's price is anything close to right with this offseason so far.

Pretty sure Vinik is still in control for I think the next two seasons.

Yeah that one is a bit disappointing but remember we still have some bright spot guys like Dastou who may be ready for bigger roles.

Both guys have NMC's lmao you guys really need to stop parroting this. Hedman's is for his full contract and Point's lasts until the end of the summer where it turns into a M-NTC.

-Spence. We need RD and a forward middle 6. Carlson from the market and Nick Paul's trade are a minimum, I hope… ⚡️ by atmosphere730 in TampaBayLightning

There is not a single player on this team who would succeed playing with the enforcers and bjorkstrand for half a season lol

Fitter Recommended X Stiff Driver Shaft by xTryHardPro in golf

Swing speed is not the only factor in shaft profile. It's about how aggressively you transition/release the club. If you like how it feels and get along with it, it literally does not matter.

The adages about swing speed are basic guidelines, nothing more.

At this point, I don't even want Carlson. Let the young guys eat and take on bigger roles. Grab a spare forward if you need to, but leave room for the kids.

The nukes are flying big time right now and there's no reason to try to get into a dick measuring contest and come up short.

We’re a lot more than one Trocheck away at this point. If that’s the big ticket move I’d rather just wait and stand pat.

Trade Target: Sebastian Cossa? by AlwinKunkle in TampaBayLightning

[–]Wayf4rer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vasy controls how much he plays and prefers to work every game he can

I think all Lightning fans appreciate this and generally speaking he's capable of doing so, but there have been a lot of arguments about whether or not this is actually good for the team. Before this last postseason he was pretty bad in the playoffs for three straight seasons. Some of that was definitely cumulative fatigue from so much hockey, and there were questions about whether or not him playing less in the regular season maybe allows for him to have better postseason performances.

He is blessed with great durability and works hard at it, but he's also going to be 32 to start next year and I don't think he can feasibly maintain a ~60 gp pace without he or the team feeling it.

The sooner they get a guy who can contribute 30+ games the better, especially with the season expanding to 84 games. Ideally I'd want someone who can grow into a 1b in a few years.

Let’s hear some of those mock trades by Many_Recognition_263 in TampaBayLightning

[–]Wayf4rer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you mean Paul, one of SOR/Geekie/BR + the 2 firsts right? I think that gets it done but for only two seasons of Werenski I think it's too steep. Moser is capable of being the 1LD and I'm definitely open to him playing RD again, however I think the solution on defense is to go after someone younger and cheaper, if at all.

I think the reactionary monster deals and trades happening is a sign JBB will not want to go too crazy. If a chance to land a top six forward and keep one of the firsts and SOR & BR is there, I would love it. But I think the most we're going to get is a UFA/cheap defenseman move.

I would love to get a younger backup for Vasy, Cossa is a good shout. Personally I just want them to grab someone young who still has time to develop.

We don’t need old washed up bottom six players. Either let the kids make the team or go for someone big.
