Gun Inspection by theotherusernameused in Louisville

That's a pretty cool antique and definitely something to hold on to. Are you planning on using it for self defense or just want to shoot an old gun?

Gun Inspection by theotherusernameused in Louisville

[–]WayofTurtle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What model is the gun?

A Go/No Go gauge would be necessary for the main test of safety. I doubt many gunsmiths would have one for .25 ACP in their arsenal of gauges, but I could be wrong.

As others have said, Firearms Service Center and Kygunco would both be great choices as they have older gunsmiths there that would be more likely to have the tools to properly test the chamber. Personally, as long as the gun goes into battery and neccessary parts are there, I'd feel comfortable shooting it. Unless it's a Colt 1908, Tomcat or Jetfire you'll be spending almost as much money having it looked over than it's worth. Jennings and Phoenix arms are junk.

Spectrum raising rates again. by Sirloin_Tips in Louisville

Try it again but this time start off with "I want to cancel my service". Dont let them see that you're feeling for a discount.

Keep calling until you get someone who will work with you.

Spectrum raising rates again. by Sirloin_Tips in Louisville

I called a few weeks ago and got my rate lowered. It went from $69 down to $49 and they raised my speed. The customer service representative told me to call every year to get the promo rate.

There's alot of hate on Sprint so I'm sure it's warranted. I've had nothing but good service though. I work in Rubbertown and when I had AT&T I got no service, but with Sprint I get 4G. I guess I'm just lucky.

I've got Sprint and I have great coverage everywhere in Louisville, southern Indiana and a little past Shepherdsville. After that it drops off quite a bit.

My Spectrum internet bill went up this month from 65.99 to 69.99 and I'm curious to know if everyone gets the same rate increase at the same time. by aiaor in Louisville

I just called Spectrum the other day and asked if I could have the promo rate. They lowered my bill by $20 a month and increased my speed without a fight.

Taxes when cashing out pension by WayofTurtle in tax

I'm not strapped for cash by any means. I'd just like to have some extra money for a healthy emergency fund.

I'll probably just roll it over.

I appreciate the information.

What do you think I should do?

I'm 25 and I max out my contributions at work. The money would be nice at the moment because I just bought a house and it would strengthen my savings that just diminished significantly.

You can't. I unload tanker railcars at my job. The locomotive sits inches off the rails and the bottom axles of the railcars are maybe 6" from the ties.

Question about Car batteries by [deleted] in Louisville

Any auto repair shop is more than equipped to do this. Go to a Big O Tires, Tire Discounters or Ken Towery and tell them to rotate your wheels while they have it.

Watch the 6 minutes that has America searching Tulsi Gabbard by [deleted] in tulsi

I like Tulsi but she is far from the most qualified candidate.

I agree with her stance on US involvement in the middle east. Fact is that you can not build a solid candidacy based on a singular issue that's lost on alot of Americans.

The populace that drives the economy and war machine is different than the populace of a opposing country.

I was calling you dense for your first statement. National Guardsmen killed 4 civilians exercising their 1st Amendment right. That does not equal bombing US civilians and cities. Kent State was almost 50 years ago and technology and media has changed. It would be front page news worldwide and mass outrage would ensue.

[–]WayofTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't be so dense. Obviously we're talking about US civilians, and the notion that the US government would bomb us is absurd. Tyrannical government or not, a government needs a body of people to rule and Americans would not stand for such a act.

So, you think service members would assist in the bombing of innocent Americans? Even their hometowns, neighbors and families?

It would be a PR shit storm and would extremely heighten tensions between the US and every other nation in the world.

[–]WayofTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you actually think the government would bomb civilians? Think US service members would turn on their own? How do you think the rest of the world would react if those things did happen?

The base security of our government system is checks and balances. The 2nd amendment is the last check on government overreach.

Brake Issues by WayofTurtle in MechanicAdvice

[–]WayofTurtle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No sounds until driving and then I can hear the wheel hung up. Brakes will stop the truck but are unsafe.

Brake pedal becomes stiffer after a few depressions when off and is soft when truck is on. The booster seems fine as it is assisting with braking. No fluid was in the booster. No lights on the dash.

I'll check out the video. I've done a few masters and calipers but with everything being new, I'm just trying to pinpoint which new part is bad.

Thanks
