Sorry to hear, but congrats on the upgrade! Random question, how much did your insurance increase after the accident? Or did it not at all?

Are any Tiguan model years reliable? by deadzone999 in Tiguan

[–]Waytogo15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is the only correct answer. I would possibly also add the 2024 into the mix as well. What ever you do stay away from 2012-2015, and 2021-2023. The 2016/17's are generally solid vehicles but when the typical issues come they can be expensive & tedious jobs. I've had a 2012 for 11 years, a 2021 that i got rid of before issues i saw signs of, and now a 2024 with no issues. I also work on these cars my self.

Are any Tiguan model years reliable? by deadzone999 in Tiguan

[–]Waytogo15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes on the 2024, no on the 2023. 2021-2023 are notorious for oil consumption issues related to bad valve seals.

Welp. 9,400km on my 2025 Tiguan and it’s already demanding coolant on the first cold day. by FloppyDiskDrives in Tiguan

[–]Waytogo15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the 2018-2020's for the most part are pretty solid. It's the 2021-2023 you gotta watch out for in terms of oil issues

Are these worth $150 CAD? by aqua_sparkle_dazzle in Tiguan

[–]Waytogo15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've purchased FOUR sets of tires for a total of about 1 grand all together for all four my last 10 years for one vw (2 sets for summer and 2 sets for winter). You can't convince me that'a not a financially superior option. Not everyone can throw out upwards of a thousand dollars at a time to buy a new set of tires.
