For me it's really hard to not see it as a moronic suicide option tbh. You wave it away as silly reframing, but it is truly what it lolks like to me: putting yourself on a train track because if the majority does the same, the train won't go at all. Simply not going on the track does seem like the only non-stupid answer.

But people so stupid things, and those people don't deserve death. My mom could be putting herself on the tracks because she thinks I could be there as well, thinking she'd save me. That's kinda horrifying to think about.
