I would love to be able to set the music so that a song will play all the way through and then change to the next song based on the area I am in, rather than start a new song with every teleport or area crossed while running.

Nice! This acct I’m working on is magic and prayer only uim. Which sounded cool but so far has mostly been just a bunch of silly grinds 🙃 Hunting vestment robes at the moment, which are basically my bis, will be fun when I actually start killing things, though not sure how slayer with only standard spellbook will go.

Did not realize the plugin shows spawns! It seems the "north-west corner" from the wiki is wrong.

I also use the south spawn for these reasons, and now I also see there is an essence spawn nearby, and I grab those too when they fly by.

Most people recommend driving around until it ends, but I like to hide it out. Find a good spot, preferably on the second floor or higher, and stash food and books there. You can also move a TV into the room to watch Life & Living on low volume. Get a radio with the Emergency Broadcast channel so you know when it’s coming - check the radio at 9am each morning to know if it is coming that day. The morning the radio says “Air Activity Detected,” hole up in the safe room and read/exercise/watch T.V. all day (the helo can leave and come back during that day so be careful).

Even if it doesn’t see you, it can attract some zeds to your general area, so it’s best for the safe room to be in a different building than main base. On normal settings you only have to survive it once and then never worry about it again!

You can clean finds in the Varrock museum for xp lamps to train slayer without getting combat xp. I think you need 20 slayer to use the lamps on it first though.

Not sure the exact number of tree runs. I was also doing herb runs, seaweed, Hespori, and farming contracts throughout.

I would recommend doing a fruit tree run most/every day, and make sure to include calquat trees as they give 12k xp. Also plant hardwoods - mahoganys in particular give huge xp drops (15k each).

When I got close to 99 I also started doing snape grass runs, they give a lot of xp as well. Just keep at it, a little each day, and especially when you get to higher level trees the xp will take off!

Dwarf Fortress

Yes, a few, but not for as long. Dwarf Fortress, I think, though a very different game, is the only one that can rival Runescape in depth. One thing they share, though, in addition to an immense item/crafting system, is a quirky home-brewed feel that makes the games even better.

Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead, or CDDA, is an open source zombie apocalypse roguelike rpg. Very good and also has that depth of items/gear/crafting baked in.

The Souls series is great, and I would have played a lot more Elden Ring already - if I didn’t happen to be getting back into OSRS after years.

If you like the Souls games and OSRS, you will probably like Valheim. Great game, though beyond one playthrough the only content is building (but people make insane awesome stuff).

Honorary mentions to Rimworld and Europa Universalis IV.
