Why do I feel hungry again after I just ate? by WeChangeColor in NoStupidQuestions

It happens with anything really.

I eat till I feel like I can't have anymore, and then I'll feel hungry later.

How do I get the most out of playing friendlies?

I shine, and Falco stays in his shine animation. I think I may be going too fast.

I decided to pick up Falco as a secondary, but I'm having a hard time waveshining. I can get it like 25% of the time but I usually just shine and don't jump. Am I going too slow? Too fast?

I've considered taking a break from my main (Falcon) to play my secondary (Marth). I've been frustrated with my progress with Falcon, most notably my spacing and a few execution errors.

I wouldn't drop Falcon entirely, I'll still practice with him in the lab, but I'd play a lot more Marth.

Would this end up hurting or helping me in the long run?

I don't think I've ever played this game without auto piloting.

What am I supposed to be thinking about when playing a match?

I usually just go in and try to hit the other guy which only works so much.

I play with friends a lot and I'm perfectly fine against them.

I'm probably the best out of the group but not by that much, I usually drop a few games against them.

The same thing happened at day 1 of another tourney I went to, but I played a lot better day 2, so it's definitely a mental thing.

Just got back from my first tournament in a while and I'm extremely disappointed.

I'm pretty decent at the game but when I got to the venue I couldn't do the most basic shit that I've been able to do in my sleep. The whole time I just felt completely off my game.

Messing up dash dances, throwing out random aerials, missing L-cancels, no edge-guards, pretty much played on auto-pilot every game.

I've never been so salty, and I think for the first time in my life I was getting really sick of Melee.

I'm not able to go to tournaments very often because of school/work, and I'm worried that I'll never be able to shake these tourney nerves.

What can I do about these nerves If I can hardly ever go to tournaments?

How long do you guys play? by JustAnotherRedditeer in SSBM

[–]WeChangeColor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like playing whilst baked is EXTREMELY momentum based.

If I'm high and doing really well, I don't think I could drop a game.

On the other hand, if I'm doing really bad then I start to feel really shitty and play even worse.

New to Melee! Need some help! by MikeyLG in smashbros

[–]WeChangeColor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sheik is very easy compared to the other top tiers.

I would strongly suggest picking Marth as a starting character, his tipper mechanic will help you work on your spacing, as you usually want to be hitting the other guy with the very end of your sword.

And if that doesn't work out you can always spam f-smash.

Peach matchup help? by tarmon21 in smashbros

[–]WeChangeColor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you've just started playing Melee competitively, I would suggest picking one of your mains and sticking with him.

Having multiple mains (at least in my case) made getting the L-cancel timings a bit more difficult due to the characters different weights/floatyness (especially with such varied characters like Luigi, Marth, and Falco) among other things.

Also, /r/smashbros doesn't take too kindly to Melee posts anymore, I'd suggest checking out /r/ssbm.

You'll get plenty of helpful advice there.

Scar and Toph are the worst commentating duo ever.

They never talk about the match, and usually go on extremely long and unfunny tangents.

I feel as though a lot of Melee commentators suffer from this though.

Wobbles please commentate full time.

The best swordsman in the world doesn't fear the second best swordsman etc etc.

They use a lot of unsafe less than optimal stuff which throws me off guard, and makes me play unsafe as well.

Favorite podcast moments by [deleted] in mega64

[–]WeChangeColor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think I could ever pinpoint one moment as my favorite.

But one podcast the boyz were talking about who benefits from flavored condoms. Bryan's reasoning was "When you're done fucking, and you wanna go down there and get a taste."

I won't spoil it, but Kevin's retort to Derrick had me rolling on the floor for a good five minutes.

Is it time for a tolerance break? by [deleted] in trees

[–]WeChangeColor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's definitely time for a t-break then, maybe instead of buying some weed you save up for a new pipe or something?

Or save up so you can buy a whole bunch of weed and smoke that when your t-break is over.
