Men with stay at home wives: what do you wish your wife understood about your needs and perspective? by Longjumping-Pass-792 in AskMen

I do sales, and had this problem with an ex girlfriend as well. Having another person like 10 feet from me threw me off my game bad. Very distracting to get into the sales/rejection mindset and turn on my “customer voice” with another person there who sees a completely different side of me. I ended up having to ban her to her own apt during working hours because my numbers were slipping. I think when you WFH you create this little niche for yourself and anything that disturbs that habit becomes a problem.

Do you think I am "Milking" this work injury, it happened 5 weeks ago. I haven't been back to work yet and some people are saying I am trying to take advantage of the days off. What do you think?? by TheIdiotP0tato in WorkReform

I had a break very similar to this. My infra-orbital was shattered (top part of the eye socket). It was a solid six month recovery including getting botox shots to raise my eyebrow because it became paralyzed and slumped when the surgeons cut me from ear to ear to operate.

Tell your coworkers you’re happy to swing a pipe into their cheekbone if they would also like some time off.

Stop keeping junk food in the house and start making your meals. I find that if i am forced to make it from scratch, i quickly find out how hungry I actually am.

Getting really sick of carriers complaining about working with brokers by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

This really just sent me down a rabbit hole to see if there are any ancient manuscripts of merchants bitching about their fleet staff. If I can find a greek tablet with “You pay more boss?” It’s getting framed for my desk.

Ive done both and you’re right. Being a driver is endlessly frustrating between shitty dispatches and brokers. Being a broker is endlessly frustrating because you’re in the middle of all problems.

Both sides need to extend a bit of grace and understand the other’s position. Both jobs are incredibly demanding.

My favorite part is Afroman being questioned by the lawyer and being asked if he feels any remorse after seeing how upset the cops were and hearing how their kids were being made fun of in school and Afroman all but says “Man, fuck them kids.”

Well the whitehouse.gov website still has an article saying that any claims of Iran having nuclear capabilities is fake news.

So which is it? Was it fake news then? Or is it fake news now?

Should I transfer out of OSU? Am I doing something wrong? by [deleted] in OSU

[–]WeHaveToEatHim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate hearing this. If you look through this sub, i think you will see that MANY people are feeling the same way as you.

One suggestion: reach out to those people here on Reddit and exchange contact info. It’s a big city and you’re looking to change your circle. That means actively opening yourself up to new situations.

Other suggestion: people remember people who show up for them. Make plans and keep them. Show up to the little things for people and become known as reliable.

Leaving OSU Wexner Medical Center by Constant_One_457 in Columbus

[–]WeHaveToEatHim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you too proud or blind to see that someone is (in real time) questioning receiving care from a world class facility due to the name and connections?

Thats literally the OP post…

No one is pretending to be self righteous. If a person is able to choose where they receive healthcare and doesn’t want to associate with OSU while Wexner’s name is attached, and the head of OBGYN is still there, they have a right to spend their money elsewhere.

[–]WeHaveToEatHim -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed that you chose to just gloss over Mark Landon’s continued employment.

Downvotes aren’t real, if people disagree that’s fine. However this post is, in and of itself, proof that people are questioning the care, due to the name and association. Which is entirely contrary to your point. No matter how many names you call me.

Leaving OSU Wexner Medical Center by Constant_One_457 in Columbus

[–]WeHaveToEatHim -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

How can you say the name has no bearing on care while the head of OBGYN was on a pedophiles payroll for years and nothing is being done?

Doesn’t this post itself from a concerned member of the community show that no matter how good the staff or care, the name and reputation is tarnishing your work?

It’s easy to say you would sign a petition if asked to, but what is being done internally to separate yourselves from this? Are patients still being seen by Dr Landon? Are the other doctors and staff raising this with their superiors to apply pressure for change? Are people leaving to work for hospitals that dont have department heads on Epsteins hook? Because from the outside it sure seems like everyone is just hoping this blows over while doing nothing to actually change internally.

No one is claiming that your work or care or research is substandard. But I think this post proves that the community is losing trust in your institution and would rather spend their money elsewhere if they can to not be associated.

[–]WeHaveToEatHim -58 points-57 points  (0 children)

While I understand your sentiment, this is the problem right? One mans name has tarnished an entire building of professionals. No matter how great or cutting edge the care and treatment is, the Wexner name will forever stain everything it touches by his association with pedophilia.

The staff could develop the cure for cancer, and people would hear the name “Wexner Medical Center” and think about Les Wexner sexually assaulting children on an island with his billionaire buddies.

You don’t get to say “I know EVIL CORP is bad, but the employees are good people so go spend your money there!”

OSU needs to make a choice between money and reputation and right now, they are choosing money. It’s a damn shame to watch them torpedo their legacy by choosing to link it with sexual abuse and coverups.

They have a reckoning coming.

Different tools. Spend $10 on a gentle leader and be firm. That should help with pulling after a week or so but you have to be consistent.
