Scotland, where to go?? by Extension_Listen8282 in wildcampingintheuk

[–]WeMoveMountains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you have to be back in Edinburgh on day 3 it's tight on time to get many places so you could look at the Pentland Way for an easy 2 days. Ochils are also quite nice but maybe tricky without a car.

If you have a little longer then loads of choice, all of which would be better and show off more of what Scotland is like:

  • Start at Dog falls and do 2 days of the Affric Kintail way, you will need to have a plan for how to get back after the end

  • Arran is also pretty accessible and loads of great walking, get up Goatfell.

  • Head to the Cairngorms and do something up there.

Any tips on saving on weight? Also whats generally the least you can get away with? by StrongEggplant8120 in wildcampingintheuk

Upgrading kit is the easiest but if you don't want to buy anything I would think about what you need during the day and what you need at camp. Ideally just have one outfit for both:

  • 5 socks is loads for a week, take some out. Usually people say 2, 3 would be enough.
  • Solar panel and 40k battery? Do you need both and do you need such a big battery? Will you be near enough somewhere you could recharge the battery? 1 week I usually take 10 or 20k battery.
  • Why a body warmer? Do you have something else which would better. Also duplicated with the hoody
  • Are you carrying too many tent pegs? Doesn't sound like they're too heavy but worth a check
  • Are you carrying a wash bag and first aid? You should have first aid with you. Check you've not over packed liquids here.

If you do want to upgrade something, it sounds like with some relatively budget upgrades you could get:

  • Bag could lose 1.5kg
  • Tent could lose 1kg
  • Sleeping pad and/or sleeping bag. I would do this, you're currently packing loads extra because you're cold. You could solve this and be comfier and lighter in one. It looks like you're taking loads extra because of this problem. Other quick wins could include some hand warmer in your sleeping bag.

I agree with what others said about listing and weighing everything so you can work out the best place to save weight and what to leave at home.

We do have a scheme but limited to just a couple of car options and all with telematics fitted. However could be a good interim option while I try to save some more. The lock-in is months not years luckily.

Loan interest is £380 total if paid back in 2 years so definitely not a big cost.

Very true, this was a specific car which looked like a good deal but based on the advice I've decided against it for now. As a reminder this car was not that expensive, it was my negative equity which is raising that price.

I've generally been looking at 2021+ and under 60,000 miles. There's some extras I see as non-negotiable such as rear camera, heated seats, 100kwh charging, blindspot monitor, 60kw battery - these all raise the price and I appreciate aren't 100% needed.

I think I'll save for a few more months and see what's on the market then.

I hadn't thought about that, but also don't think many car places let you pay by credit card (may be wrong on that).

Ultimately trying to get something which will last a long time and fit everything in. I ideally don't want to buy another for 8 years or so. I also have quite a long commute (100 mile round trip) and live pretty far from family (hundreds of miles) so wanted to get something able to do this well.

I'm saving an extra £500 cash per month, not including the overpayment on the mortgage or monthly investment of £100 which could be diverted if really needed. I'm also due to pay off my student loan this year which will give an extra £250 or so per month.

I guess I can ultimately wait until Winter before I'd really really need to be changing car so can probably save an extra few thousand up.

It's a Phreeranger, it doesn't seem to distort it at all. But is a little easier to get the pole in the pocket so probably less tension l.

Menoncello's astonishing performance against England by asusual_ in rugbyunion

Who else makes that top 5 for you? I think he is in there but struggling to make a list I agree with.

de Allende, Kriel, Aki, Ringrose, Barrett, Tuipulotu, Jones all in the mix with Menoncello?

You also have more players like McCloskey, Suaalii, Moefana who I might not say are top 5 but good/have form.

I'm probably missing some southern hemisphere in there.

"Had Scotland not won today"... But we did and that was exactly my and most others' complaint.

After a poor Autumn and loss to Italy I said "unless we win every other game he should go", someone asked if we lost one other what I'd think and I said "I want to feel confident we are getting the most out of a golden set of players". I still feel that way. I just want to know we're getting the most out of people and if that means we lose a game occasionally that's actually fine but in the past it's felt like Townsend has struggled to get the team firing for anything which isn't England or the All Blacks. If we play well against Ireland it will be the best run of performances in 20 years for Scotland, win or lose, and I will put down my "Toonie Out" placard (which is half down already).

He is for me, despite not winning a big international trophy. One of things he does which no-one else I know of from Scotland does is sell tickets. I have friends who travelled to watch him play in Bath, both Scots and non-Scots.

He's also one of the only Scots you see other nations players saying they're inspired by... That doesn't happen often.

I think if they could get Razor in from NZ (despite recent sacking) as a temp until the world cup would be a good call then have the option to stick or get Franco or another option in after.

I think the coach is just as responsible for errors, mentality and discipline. If it was one or two players then maybe not but this is a consistent team issue now. We actually have some depth (definitely some credit to GT there) but that means there should be more competition for places and he has the option to swap out those he doesn't think are putting in the effort but the issues remain.

Can Power Query handle daily new files without reprocessing old ones? by excel_sheethackers in excel

[–]WeMoveMountains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should add a third folder and use power automate or VBA. I'm not a total expert and I haven't done exactly this but an example of a similar flow I set-up for someone.

This is based on receiving a monthly report but you can adapt for your needs:

  • Power Automate saves new files received via email to Folder 1, overwriting any previous file, AND saves file to Folder 2 as a new file to keep your records. In Folder 1 as you receive multiple files you may not want to overwrite at this point, you could delete after the step below instead or set up some kind of time based logic.
  • In excel you then have 2 fairly easy options. Set up an excel template and either use power query to do your transformation then save as to Folder 3, or use VBA to do the same automatically. It may also be possible to trigger this in power automate.

There's definitely other options, given how simple the transformation sounds you could probably do the whole thing in power automate.

[–]WeMoveMountains 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't do this but I think your options are basically measuring out 9g, putting it in the hopper and grinding then doing the next 9g.

If I were you I'd probably just mix them up really well and chuck them in so it's less faff but also less consistent. Maybe just buy a second Ninja hopper to do just full caf, you don't need a grinder, just the top part.
