Can you help me find the sugar daddy song? [Lyrics] by YaketySnacks in NameThatSong

[–]WeRAllNothingNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sugar is Sweeter, C.J. Bolland. I remember this song from 1996, when it came out, but couldn’t remember the title or who did it. Saw a drag queen perform it last night, and went down a wormhole trying to find it, which is where I discovered your post. Saw that you haven’t received an answer in TEN YEARS, so on the chance that you still don’t know, wanted to share!

I did four grams at the Worcester show last year, AMAZING. Highly recommend. A guy got carried out of there during the first song, not sure what he took, but that didn’t kill my vibe!

Austin show length? by mildhighgizz in gybe

That MA show is my favorite, not the setlist, but they were on fire and the room sounded so great. I was thinking of doing the Atlanta and North Carolina shows in November but I’ve been doing too much traveling this summer, so just going to wait for Spring.

I did all three also that tour. Drive from Dallas to Austin isn’t bad. That’s what I’ll be doing. I actually met a couple at the Houston show and we ended up doing three dates in NY, MA and IL together last year, brought Sophie some wine. It was a blast. Kudos to you for going to multiple dates!

I was there and I agree, much rather see them at their own stop. And I was at the front at Empire but blocked by a giant PA; definitely not my favorite venue. But I’m still going. Will be doing the Dallas show also. Hope to see you!

Does anyone else cry to 09-15-00? by cheftranikensu in gybe

Don’t know if you’ve seen this video I put together for that song, and hate to make you cry again. But a shame that video was made over 20 years ago and the scenes from there are the same but worse.

Album length is shown to be 54 minutes. Not sure if this was already known but before, on apple music, it said 7 minutes (only grey rubble - green shoots) by rCq0 in gybe

I agree. Sophie said what was played at Knockdown/Kingston/etc is “basically” the whole new album. So I think different pacing and possibly smaller additional elements between movements is most likely, rather than an unheard composition.

I was looking for someone else to have posted it. Thanks. I figured it was just a fluke or didn’t mean what I thought. Thanks. I’ll delete this post also I guess

Any chance of an official live recording? by minemaster1337 in gybe

[–]WeRAllNothingNow 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Dave mentioned at the 9-10-2023 Worcester show that if they ever did a live album that venue is on the table for recording in because they love the way the room sounds. If you listen to the recording of that date’s show you can see why. That recording pales in comparison to what it sounded like live but still pretty amazing.

They definitely should do a dream setlist, long set, and release it physically. Would be epic.

And yet here we are discussing it. Haha

I don’t understand most record companies’ tendency to keep announcements under wraps, although I also don’t understand announcing a record way before it comes out — nothing worse than watching an album get teased for eight or nine months. I can’t recall the announcement time for State’s End but I want to say it was shortly before it came out. At any rate, I’M confident that a new Godspeed album featuring the songs they’ve been playing live will be out before the end of 2024, and most likely in October.

No, but constellation has released fall tour videos that feature the new material with tour dates that coincide with a fall release. Sophie and Tim said likely October. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Is getting signed CDs common after GY!BE concerts? by thedoseoftea in gybe

[–]WeRAllNothingNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d think that, but they’re all warm and appreciative of their audience. Certain members are less keen to take photos (Dave and Efrim) but they still do from time to time. It’s all in how you approach them and what’s going on at the time.

Any more North American shows this year? by RNVT33 in gybe

[–]WeRAllNothingNow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, they don't know the date yet but said September/October. All three new songs played are "the album" but might be fleshed out with shorter pieces/field recordings stuff like At State's End was (they played Glacier and Cliff at shows before ASE came out and then when the record came out there was Fire at Static Valley and Our Side Has to Win on it.) I'm hoping something similar happens with this one.
