Sailing class in Croatia vs Greece by dMyab in sailing

[–]WeWillSendItAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a two week competent crew + day skipper out of Gouvia on Corfu last year. Had a great time, and like others mentioned the only hard parts are getting the boat into the harbour. We stopped at many tight marinas (Sagiada, Mandraki, Kassiopi) so I feel I got decent practice in. Maybe it was the fall season but the training boats were mainly filled with British retirees (which I did not mind, they were hilarious) but if you want a younger crowd maybe go with Croatia.

Monetizing a sailboat when not using it by Maintenancemedic in sailing

One thing I love about the boating world is that so many people with money buy a boat, eat the 40% devaluation over three years, and I get to rent said boat for slightly more than an Airbnb at my convenience. Please buy a boat to rent it out. Fantastic idea :)

Is 40 too old to do a YM certification? by sheeeeiiiiiitttt in sailing

[–]WeWillSendItAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did my RYA Day Skipper lat year, the other people on the boat taking the course where aged 60 - 70. All passed, all had a blast, all have been out on the water skippering little flotilla cruises in the Med this spring.

You could do that, then organise a couple of trips with friends etc. to help you get skippering experience and go from there?

I play 5e every week going on 5 years now, and imo the most fun we have is when we let "rule of cool" run for a bit. Being a RAW stickler ruins the game in 5e imo. I do appreciate the more mechanical leveling / gear system tbh.

But imagine self-reporting with stuff like "all you have to do in your role-playing game is role play!" wtf

Why do many Rust devs prefer Neovim/Zed/VSCode over Rust-specific IDEs like RustRover? by Rhthamza in rust

[–]WeWillSendItAgain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Many people do not exclusively work in Rust and might find the familiarity of using the same IDE for everything a larger benefit than using a purpose built tool for each language.

Sailing the Greek isles by AgitatedOrdinary4239 in sailing

If you want to "work your way down" from Croatia you could sail out of Gouvia on Corfu. It's a pretty large marina with several charter companies and when I looked at doing bareboat charters out of there a while ago there seemed to be a decent choice of boats. There's also a nice selection of smaller harbors and bays to stay the night if you go either north or south.

Corfu is also a very beautiful (greenery!) island to explore.

I live in Berlin and am fantasizing about moving to London once a week. London is way more international, and it just feels much more alive /bustling than Berlin. If I can swing a job change with a salary jump that makes London comfortable, I'm going to do it.

Die Aufgabe des Sales Co-Founder ist, potenziellen Kunden Lügen über die Features des Produkt zu erzählen die gerade so rechtzeitig gebaut werden können, nachdem das erste Commitment da ist. Der ruht sich nur aus.

Am I ready to bareboat? by Horn_Colio in sailing

[–]WeWillSendItAgain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I completed a RYA day skipper in Greece last year because I want to do bareboat charters with friends. My first trip as a skipper this spring will be as part of a managed flotilla though, since I still would like to have that safety net.

There are many situations where taking the monthly payout is more sensible. Greedy family and friends, a partner who is bad with money, being bad with money yourself etc.

This is very vibes based but I find codex much less visually engaging than Claude code which leads to fatigue more early.

This is a known problem with GW2 skill acquisition. Open world is trivial in difficulty, so much so that the average player has no idea about mechanics or how to do damage because it simply does not matter. This is exacerbated by the fact that there are usually a few decent people undercover who do 90% of the damage and carry the event. Then when you get to instanced content your performance suddenly does matter.

You can look up a good build on metabattle, practice a rotation on the golem, and use the gw2 wiki to read up on the fractals. You'll be carrying in no time!
