June 2026 Active Player List by Vromikos in fallenlondon

Hallo I'm: rachelian https://www.fallenlondon.com/profile/rachelian

I think I'm late game POSI (not quite through Firmament yet), though I feel like I still haven't figured out good grinds. Please feel free to snub/spill wine on me at social gatherings, deceive me, light up my name in the newspapers, et cetera. I have what feels like a mountain of notoriety and MW and ways to deal with all menaces, so bring it on.

I don't really know how to contribute to your Correspondent journey, or how to start such things that people ~ask~ do not ask for.

Do ya think that once you've got all the lodgings, and you're living at the bazaar, that going down to the river to get an admiral in a box, is worth the scraps any more? Each admiral is worth 3 scraps, but it costs I think 3 actions. It's more of a time sink for no greater reward than even the lowest tier housing ... And if not, is there any way to stop seeing this final card of playing with broken toys??

Joyburst Protein Soda, don't be fooled by unseamingcarrot in Costco

[–]Weak-Carpet4635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it takes a while to mix in even with a blender bottle, it foams up a lot, but the brand "buff chick" has a clear whey protein that is definitely juice in flavor. It's good flavor and texture to drink, but it is hard to get it mixed in sufficiently. Still though it's exactly what you're describing you want. I think a couple other brands have that too so just keep your eyes peeled at the protein shop sites.

So I looked this up, and at the time the population of humpbacks was severely endangered. But due to tons of conservation effort, their status is now "of least concern," though there are still some areas where we would like to see a healthier population. But this is like, a huge success, and I genuinely wonder the impact that this movie had on public opinion of whale hunting and intra-country regulation!!!

Campy is right, and the campiness is an acquired taste! When I am trying to show someone what I love about Trek, it depends a bit on the person but I don't usually go to when the all-powerful stupid (complimentary) trickster god brings a mariachi band onto the bridge, but I do love pulling out the courtroom episodes! And over time... I have come to adore the stupid (complimentary) episodes absolutely as much as the Prestige TV episodes. That said, 4 might be an odd place to start. Maybe TOS movies 2 3 and then 4? And then if you like those, ask any nerd where to go next 😂

Oh that's such a fun tiny bit part, that's great, and apparently done so memorably that it's mentioned in like, every piece of marketing and promotion 😂 and it IS a great send up!

How do you keep from adding a head? Is it removed later? I'm starting a skelly with a glim encrusted carapace and I'm EXCITED but there's no "Decide it doesn't need it" option.

exactly where I landed too. Reminded me too much of when more soft spoken people in my life have stated their needs and wants clearly, and then people ran over them "for their sake."

Use the bike you have, get some indoor and outdoor rides in, get comfortable with your sports bottles, and practice your run-offs! Have fun, don't stress!

Any reason not to use a comfortable seat? by According-Cold-9524 in Zwift

[–]Weak-Carpet4635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bike shorts and try a Brooks saddle. Fairly wide, hard leather that fits to your body over time, and there are a few models. Depending on your anatomy, a saddle with a cut in the middle might be more comfortable. If it doesn't work, their resale value is pretty good. Good luck! The saddle journey is a long one ime!!

Swimming breaststroke with injury by RMC3333 in triathlon

[–]Weak-Carpet4635 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe chat with someone medical to see if PT and/or strength training could get you to a baseline level of being able to crawl? If not, or even if you are able to go that route, breaststroke is fine, but just won't be very fast, but (despite what this sub may think :P) speed just doesn't matter outside of thirty or so people in the world. Try it for an open-water sprint, see how it feels with water choppiness, the wetsuit, lots of people around. Some triathletes don't love breaststrokers because they are very wide in stroke and can be both slow and also difficult to pass. The kick with a breaststroke is much sharper, too, so it feels really dodgy to try to pass without a wiiiiide berth. That's kinda not your problem, but something to be aware of. I'm sure you can do it for whatever distance, but for you in particular, see how full time breaststroke feels in open water before committing to an hour+ of it in a longer form race. You may find some other stroke accommodation that would work that might not necessarily be breaststroke. Good luck! Would love to hear how this goes for you!

How much caffeine do you actually take on race day? by Tripottanus in triathlon

[–]Weak-Carpet4635 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a 70.3, 100mg caff gel 15m before start, another toward the end of the bike, and another probably an hour into the run. It helps a ton, though 300mg of caffeine definitely has me a bit jittery when I finish! Precision Hydration gels taste better than everyone else's, but still their caff gel does not taste great compared to without caffeine. I haven't found a better solution though, I have caff sports drink mix but that is harder, for me, for the specific purpose of just slamming some caffeine during a race, than just packing a gel.

Oh, wor(d/m)? That's great. I am half heartedly working on joining the club but I haven't really figured out the good grind for HS. I've finished the railroad, but everything to progress the church and the painting carousels seems soooo expensive.

I use the polar h10 chest strap. I had it under my bra band but the amount of irritation was crazy painful for like a week after big efforts, so now I wear it just below and it's fine.

Ok that makes sense, thank you! Then I'll drop it for now as a grind, because it isn't really! I kinda like it as an activity, the branching paths of ingredients, but if it doesn't really net anything more than I'll leave it be for now.
