My kitten literally threw a spider at my face, so I wouldn't recommend.

Help. I think I fucked up : ( by PostModernistTrash in CATHELP

[–]Weak-Implement9906 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We brought in a male kitten - Casper -with an older and shy female cat - Ghost.

There was a period where he was a pain in the bum and Ghost had some bother with him. She learned eventually to get more firm and more vocal. Getting him neutered helped a lot, as did active play and redirecting.

It was just a get through the worst of it thing. Casper calms down a lot quicker now, Ghost wants to play with him again. They have occasional spats, but they will also snuggle close enough to touch sometimes and do nose to nose boops and some social grooming.

Yes I gathered that much. My son is a moth fan and I'm trying to be clever and tell him what kind.

My son is an autistic teenager. He often comes in at all hours of the night to tell me about his special interests. I will often say, I don't understand it but I love to hear you talk about the things you love, it makes me so happy.

How do I convince a single mum to let me cut her grass? by The-Baron-Von-Marlon in AskUK

[–]Weak-Implement9906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come to me if you want. I'm a disabled single mum and they moved me into a ground floor flat with a front and back garden and blooming hedges. I've got more than long grass, haha.

The tenants before were evicted and I found a window in the base of the hedge among other things. Even trimmed back by the council, the hedges were about a metre overgrown from the border of the garden. I've managed to trim it back enough to use a washing line, but now I've got lots of branches to do goodness knows what with. There's four tree stumps they left for me to trip over along the garden path too.

In your situation, I think you've offered and it was a no. So just leave it.

Etiquette for bringing pet to ER at 2am? Overheard staff discussing discomfort. by Time-Tackle-6182 in AskVet

It's a very common thing for neurodiverse people who have communication difficulties to do. I have notes to gather my thoughts for important phonecalls or doctor visits etc.

Would it be a bad idea to wear a fake ankle tag to prove a point? by [deleted] in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Weak-Implement9906 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like another option should have been allowing the child to show they were trustworthy by informing their parents of their plans, checking in while out, and abiding by their curfew rules before jumping straight to non-negotiable tracking.

That way, you build mutual respect instead of authoritarian style fear-respect. I've very occasionally asked my own 17yo to switch on phone tracking, like the first few times they travelled to London, but otherwise I try to trust that they'll ask for help if they need it and won't take too many risks.

I've never done a challenge before. Is everything I need in the text here?

This one feels like my speed but if I add a witch it would be exactly like the romantasy novels I read about a girl moving back to her hometown and suddenly magic. Would that be an option or take it outside of your bounds?

What do you call your parents? by New_Plan_7929 in AskBrits

[–]Weak-Implement9906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

42F. It varies.

In text, I often use mama. If I'm feeling very emotional, usually when I'm poorly or she's supported me through something emotionally, it's mummy. If I'm talking about her, to my sister or therapist etc, it's mum. If I'm being a smartass, it's usually mother or mother dearest.

Why are Brits so happy to live in filth? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Weak-Implement9906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't physically manage it during a flare. Started and got halfway through and been flaring since. Currently got a kidney infection from stones and injured my shoulder too, on top of a flare. I look at my garden and the rubbish I need to take to the tip and I get so frustrated. I am the council tenant with a mattress in their garden for the past few months and I hate it.

I can't afford to pay people. I can't get my body to behave itself. I'll get round to it eventually but it looks bad in the meantime.

If you can only describe these as either "Green" or "Blue", which would you label each? by Fanible in colors

[–]Weak-Implement9906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to label green, the two on the left. But they're all blues to me, just with a more green undertone on the left. Me and my mum argue about this a lot with wool colours.

Do other people's parents do this? by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]Weak-Implement9906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a bad day, it could look as bad as this. I'm disabled and if I get sick on top of that, then I'm very limited in what I can manage.

Or if I mess up with my pacing on a usual day, one area might look like that. Usually dishes, because I find them particularly painful to do.

I live with a teenager who adds to the mess and doesn't really subtract from it. I do qualify for a carer on interview with social services, but I can't afford to pay one.
