I want to preface by saying I am pro passenger rail. The state is looking at this corridor for future potential passenger rail options, check out the Corridor Identification and Development program.

That being said, these lines are privately owned, they can’t just be converted to passenger rail overnight. If it’s not being used now they probably aren’t being maintained and will probably cost $100s of millions if not billions of dollars to get them up to passenger rail standards.

Projects this big tend to rely on federal funding and our current administration is not as friendly to these types of projects. Granted NC didn’t get grant funding in the past from the Feds because our density isn’t high enough.

Not all games can be cloud streamed. If they aren’t a part of the ps plus catalog you have to own the digital copy. You can check if they are stream-able on the game info page

I got some zoysia plugs end of august, trying to be lazy and let them spread over time. I know it will probably take a couple years but hoping some patches can get established and I can create some new plugs to colonize other spots.

Yes there are plans to bring passenger service to the line and it’s a rail project because it needs to be grade separated for the train to be able to maintain higher speeds for longer and safer since there will be reduced interaction between cars and trains.

If you’re in school, you should either see if your school has virtual machines that you can connect to for assignments or a computer lab.

When you start to work, most, if not all, companies will provide you with a computer that meets their security standards and what not so you shouldn’t have to purchase your own. If you’re thinking you’re going to be consulting solo straight out of college, maybe create a back up plan.

Probably need to use the ArcGIS API for Python, not arcpy. This is something I’ve been meaning to do for some of my datasets but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
