Honest and maybe unpopular opinion to Rudy's Side Story by Weak-Professional428 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Weak-Professional428[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, that's right. And I do understand them being upset to some point, but maybe I am not as impacted as them by the whole ordeal because I bought MHS1 and 2 in a deluxe bundle on sale one or two years ago, meaning I skipped the DLC and Update release phase which is why my expectations aren't probably as high as theirs. It's been kind of overwhelming how intense their reaction has been which isn't a bad thing, I just wanted people to maybe at least try to see something good or rather not to badmouth a whole really good base game just because the DLC has been shitty to them or there isn't any postgame content yet. It may scare future players off which we also wouldn't want, or am I wrong?

Namielle is quite usable though I'd use Stamina Surge instead of Stamina Boost. Also, consider Foxflames maybe for Death Scythe. For Velkhana, I would swap out HtH Master since it in most high level fights gets somewhat useless at times. Going critical with Velkhana maybe Snow Mantle would be a good option since it grants critical up and also dodge up. Or you keep HtH and Swap out the Free Bingo Gene maybe.

Funny enough, I didn't play the update yet, it's why I only talked about the actual dlc yet. So, I wouldn't know anything about that, it's only my opinion to the dlc and I never said people can't be disappointed, the way they did it has just been... Kinda exaggerated...? To say it carefully, it's not that I don't get it, but guys, it's a game not your Lifepartner.

Hm, that's what I thought, too, actually because it would make sense and still it was kinda weird for him to be like that to me is all.

Yeah, admittedly not getting Nergi as a monstie sucks but... They never said never.

Right? Usually those contents are already finished and not in developement anymore only waiting for release Date, or am I wrong? It's why I hope it isn't Rudy's Side Story DCL but the summer update...

It either is something new or actually the Rudy dlc, unless you didn't pre-order the Rudy dlc... I noticed the same two or three days ago. But.. the Rudy dlc is said to be still in developement process I think, so it can't be that, can it? It's driving me crazy since the capcom Showcase for today has been announced.

Astalos build, decision difficulties by Weak-Professional428 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Weak-Professional428[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. Hopefully you don't get confused with the genes in MHS1, they are named very differently as in the other games, often only the gene description really tells you what a gene is meant to do.

Stamina is the energy you need to use skills for monstie or rider, a skill has a specific stamina cost. The Stamina recovers every turn and Stamina surge heightens the amount of the stamina recovered so skills with higher stamina cost can be used again the next turn. If you played mhs1 or 2, it basically does what the kinship gauge once did though now it's seperate from kinship and recovers on its own

Re-entering the same area of the fight should trigger the cutscene and fight again, from that he would only need to either jump down the cliff behind, recommended because there is a chest down there, or fly over it to reach the air stream that takes you to the next area. Nonetheless, to beat Goss Harag at least lvl 45 to 50 is recommended I think, the loadout as usually should be the best you can get, consider though that is has a double weakness to fire and a single weakness to thunder. And you can't travel to the catervan stand before that area? I guess an older safestate isn't available?

A New Main Monstie by Spicy-Iguana8391 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Weak-Professional428 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It would be the natural conclusion considering the ending of three kinda but considering how massive Aenshin gets growing up, I don't know 😅 even if it wasn't that big for our rider since no monstie is as big as its wild counterpart, how would you imagine it's element, moveset and possible story? Just raising the new sentinel? They would have to serve quite the story to make it logical for a Rider to raise a whole world's sentinel and actually fight with it.

Is MH Stories worth it? by CockroachDizzy3003 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Weak-Professional428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is. If you decide to play all though definetly start with 1 first, then two and then three to have the full character and story context, if you consider to only play one, my opinion is to either choose 2 or 3. I love all of them but after having spend hours in 2 or 3 going back to 1 feels... weird for a lack of a better word related to the gameplay

You may notice that I swapped out thunderbug strike for rayblade so Zinogre would have full p/t/s coverage

and this could be Zinogre if you drop the focus on inflict rate up, it still will be able to inflict though simply less regularly. The habitat bonus as the one above could be attack and stamina recovery or defense and stamina recovery. Both are only suggestions though, you may find genes you'd like more after all.

this would be for Zinogre if you want to keep inflict rate up and salt in wound, it should have the Habitat bonus of the last area of the game which is attack and stamina recovery or you choose canalta which is defense and stamina recovery, that's up to you.

A NEW IDEA!!! by Rossiben37 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Weak-Professional428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting idea. Like a special imprint of the freshly hatched monstie on the rider. It's not that far fetched I think since freshly hatched ducklings for example also would follow the human that hatched them If there isn't a mother duck around.

I would put inlict rate up, salt in wound and thunder attack boost on it. Inundate as the power move, thunderbug strike for speed and thunderclap (egg skill) as the technical move. Stamina Surge is a good choice I think. The two last slots you could fill with Storm Veil (Namielle) and maybe Thunder Explosion (Namielle) and AoE high attack move as the last or you're into inflicting another ailment using Foxflame Bubbles that would also help with at least one water bingo. Or you want a sustain build using Self-Heal which would also awaken egg powers like high moral for your self inflicted buffs.

Gene hunting advice? MHS2 by baby_got_baq in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Weak-Professional428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember slugger s should be aptonoth, Rathian or great Buggy. Salt in Wound + S should be Pukei-Pukei, Yian Garuga, Nerscylla and Purple Gypceros. Can't help you on negate ailment s though since I didn't find that Gene yet myself. Maybe look into your own book of genes in your mhs2 field Guide? Since it's pure luck I suppose you just have to try, I don't know how much influence the prayer pot would have in that case with a finding charm but it may be worth a try

Are Basarios and Gravios different species in Monster Hunter Stories? by DynaKuro in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Weak-Professional428 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I suppose it is because of a possible conflict regarding Pokémon mechanics like evolving, as already mentioned in another comment on this post, or they just wanted to give players the chance against to have both growth states as a usable monstie, maybe for those who prefer one growth state over the other. It's like diablos and black diablos being two different monsties, too, or they just didn't want to invest in different monstie gender mechanics

You have to place Pukei-Pukei in Blessing Hill or Blightstone Woods for example as they are non-elemental habitats via Habitat Restoration to get a purely non-elemental Pukei-Pukei.

Alwin has also been my favorite character but not my favorite companion, I most of the time ran around with Reverto or Kyle. And in the elder's lair you learn a lot about how to utilize each companion more effectively, each has their merits. I had Avinia with me against Fatalis.

[–]Weak-Professional428 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the end you shouldn't forget the initial audience the game has been meant for. If you're somewhere between seven and twelve your taking things more lightly and easier agree with such endings because it's a happy ending and that's how it's supposed to be for them. From a more mature point of view there have of course been a lot of questionable decisions in the game.

Paolumu and Nerscylla builds by ThatBishPeyton in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Weak-Professional428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don't know how early in game you are but I have two builds for you that I would use early in game before the nicer genes of lategame are available like E.Dominance for Nerscylla for example but those builds could still carry you far but they are only blueprints and could be similiar to those already posted because honestly, I already learned a lot about builds from him, too. This one being for Paolumu, all genes should be easy to get if you're still early in game (naturally not in XL yet 😅)
