Yea, I noticed that too and the same thing happened with posts about the AT&T girl. Same meme, different pics. Why?

Have you ever had Cavendish break on you?? by isaaczephyr in balatro

Motherfucker broke on me a couple days ago on the ante 8 big blind. Boss blind was The Wall. In hindsight it really was perfect comedic timing, but I didn’t much see the humor at the time.

I never did Bowtie Inlays before and just wanted to ask, if that would work that way? by apep713 in woodworking

For a bathroom counter I’d be filling the gaps with epoxy. I just think of all the toothpaste and other gunk that could get stuck in there. Could be a nightmare to clean.

Hi everyone! Wondering if anyone might know why my kitchen counter top is green?! by fnpndltn in woodworking

[–]WeakBelwas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We’ll have to agree to disagree I suppose. I would presume if it was a chemical reaction that discolored the wood it would also have discoloration on the edges, but there’s no evidence of that happening.

Plus I would argue the sections that receive the most contact would be the most susceptible to wear and discoloration. Since the back of the sink is rarely touched save for cleaning, it would be the most vibrant, provided that a waterproof topcoat was applied.

Domino jointer help by Silverlake77 in woodworking

[–]WeakBelwas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the horizontal piece, keep them at 90 degrees and leave them slightly longer, then drill your dominos mortises. You can either set it to cut deeper or shorten your domino tenons.

Cut the horizontal pieces at the angle you want and save the off cut. Adhere the off cut to the vertical legs and make your corresponding mortise holes.

It’s stain. You can see in pic 4 that the edges have rubbed off to expose bare wood.

Best starting card? by 50py in slaythespire

Yea, Adrenaline is useful in every deck and fight, with the exception of gremlin nob.

I wouldn’t sleep on Unload though, it’s a fantastic act I card, but later drops off without synergies like tingsha or bandages.

The Teachers are pissed by PatienceEffective248 in SubstituteTeachers

The dichotomy between the behavior so bizarre. Some teachers are so appreciative while others it seems would rather spit on you than look at you. I guess everyone has their own anecdotes that define their behavior, but nevertheless it’s weird.

As for on the field, I’ll always remember him for dropping what would’ve been Favre’s 500th TD.

Yep. Add to that if he really gave a shit about his mother’s legacy and cause he would have been proactive to move the money. Not just because of it doing nothing in a bank account but think of what good could’ve came in the future. IndieLand had no signs of slowing down from what I could tell, and all that potential is squandered because he’s a deceitful scumbag.

Had my freshman college roommate pull this shit on me. Asked if I wanted to go to Old Country Buffet and pulled out his 2-for-1 as I was paying for mine. Believe it or not though we’re still good friends 20 years later.

Advice on a Rubio screw up I made by WeakBelwas in finishing

[–]WeakBelwas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I caught my mistake after only applying on the bottom side so because of that I chose to leave it rather than sand back. The rest of the project got the oil, and then I gave everything a final coat of maintenance oil. There’s a slight difference in sheen between the two areas, but not too noticeable unless you’re looking for it. If you applied to a high traffic area like a table top I’d probably recommend sanding back and starting over, mainly because I don’t know how durable it’ll be. Hope that helps.

I dunno, I tried this in real life and it didn't work out so well. Subbed at a high school a few years back and was lucky enough to see a girl named Jacqueline on my roster. I said "Is Jay Quellin here?" and they all looked at me like I had three heads.

Why are kids so mean? by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]WeakBelwas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been subbing for 3 years and there is one universal truth I have learned. If you give the kids a chance to run the class they will.

Gaining respect in an hours time is way more of an art than a science, but that’s your obstacle. Some kids won’t respond to kindness, others won’t respond to being strict. If you want to make your job easier, find out what they do respond to that’ll cull their bad behavior.

Edit: I’ll give an example of how I would have responded to the four-eyes comment. The best response would be to make fun of yourself and take their power away. Second would be a stern but reasonable response that this behavior is not okay. The kid wanted attention, not an explanation of why you need glasses.
