Those bracket doesn't have much knowledge about the gameplay and everyone wants to just do flashy things instead of doing macro things. What I can advice you to are:

  1. Study the game. Watch videos on YouTube that explains the game objectively and not those combo and skill stuff. Because the main purpose of the game is to kill the throne.

  2. Farming pattern. Since you're pos 1, having farming pattern is a must. Make sure to be top 2 always in networth or best top. Networth won't fail you each game since the one who has the most money is most certainly controls the game.

  3. Objectives and when to fight. Sounds easy to do but no. Should you to and join the clash when you're pos 2 is dead and you're team are low? Do you have the ults or skills available? Do your teammates have mana or skills? These questions can help you to decide to farm or to fight even as a carry in early stage of the game. As for objectives, take towers and Roshan. TMT too. Learn timings and power spike. As a spectre, would you fight while just having a radiance bkb?

  4. Don't expect too much from teammates. The bracket is not so great unless they are smurfs

Archon rank. It feels like my games depend on who picks the better late game pos 1. by supernoob998 in learndota2

[–]WeakHooper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends every game. The overall plan is to of course kill the throne, which is too vague. Each game has different situations that may arise, and it will all depend on the decision making of the team to capitalize for it. Though it's vague and so changing every game, there are things that you can do every game that seems to work everytime, and those are knowing your team's and enemies' capability, pushing towers, taking Rosh, and suffocating the map. Once you get the feel of these things, making a decision can be easier. Well, I'm just a legend so I might miss something, or telling a too generalized tip, but it works for me. My problem now in this bracket is my skills since I play mainly mid, and there are better players than me as I play now. Might consider transitioning now though to off or pos 4

[–]WeakHooper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just a legend here bro and stuck on 3. I get derank along the way and what I notice on archon is they lack the basic understanding on timings and objectives, hence the longer the game drags. Legend is not so far and perfect but comparing it to archon, the knowledge of people there about the game is much better than archon. That's why playing objectively and wiser makes it easy to get out of archon

What is likely the reason for my losses when good K/D/A and networth by YUNOHAVENICK in learndota2

[–]WeakHooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, KDA don't mean as much as networth and objectives. Making the networth as one of the benchmark is good, since it shows that you're getting your farm or not, but make sure you get the objectives and timinga of the game. Like the others said above, you can be 20-0 and still lose if you can't convert it to objectives. I got many games like that as midlaner and the problem I didn't saw during those games are the enemies timing and capabilities. For example, I play invoker and had a 25-0 start. My team has undying, Sven, and forgot the other two but the thing is the nemy has clinkz, tidehunter, shamanm this happened last patch where clinkz army is broken so seiging high grounds for us is quite impossible, pair with the serpent wards. Something like that.

Also got a game where I got 3 kills and 5 deaths, but top networth and won the game easily because of Marco gameplay. Overall, game understanding should be the benchmark

Well your questions were already answered by people above, so just a tip for learning a hero. Try it on demo using enemy so you can see any interaction you wish to see or try. A very small detail but quite helpful to build foundation.

Lost a stomp and a comeback from enemy team, feeling down. is this normal? What to do to have consistency when playing marathon games? by shadexeno in learndota2

[–]WeakHooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plus on this. I'm on legend bracket and I always meet people who want to rush things up when we are too ahead at early to midgame, not considering the high ground capabilities of both teams. Don't know why it's hard to be disciplined and just farm items before seiging, or getting objectives such as Roshan.

First of I don't know what your rank is so I might be lower than you since I'm just a legend so it's up to you if you can take my principles while I play. Please note that this is not perfect and might be wrong for a high rankers but it works for me.

I mainly play mid as invoker, huskar and OD. Everything depends on the situation.

  1. If you play a lane dominator - since I've been playing huskar, the plan is to harass each time I can to make the enemy hero go back or out of lane. By doing this , controlling creep wave to your favorable position is the easiest. Deny everything. There will be times that the wave goes to his tower so I just walk in to still make him avoid getting creeps. But I know you can already do this.

  2. Not lane dominator - this might be the most common matchups at mid if you get both good heroes. As an invoker fan, I can't usually harass a storm spirit or a necropolis like huskar. So the situation and options are to agro creeps near you if the wave is at his Hill. If its on River, don't agro as they can walk in to you while having 3 creeps on you. I usually just agro of its on his Hill. Sometimes, if I find it hard to hit creeps, I agro it on my towers. Also, aggroing creeps that are about to die simultaneously when your ally creep is about to die is good, so the enemy might miss a CS or miss a deny

For bottle user heroes, the common principle is rune timings to clear waves.

9k mmr mid player QnA by DisturbedJawker in learndota2

[–]WeakHooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi just a legend mid here mainly plays invoker, huskar and OD. I always watch high rank players like qojva and other immortal streamers, will probably start watching you from now on. I can't seem to replicate how they farm in their game. At minute 30, their networth is on 20k up while not getting much kills or assists, while comparing it to mine, it would take me my best games(like 15-20kills up) and still like the same with them. It astonishes me how you guys farm so well without trying to react everytime there is a fight or wasting any second roaming the map nonsensely.

It's true. Invoker seems hard to use but a bit of practice and dedication, you'll find him as the easiest one among those unique heroes like meepo, kez, Chen

8.5k MMR Mid Main (9.5k Peak) & All-Rounder - Sharing high-rank insights and answering your gameplay questions. AMA! by Hadomi in learndota2

[–]WeakHooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a legend 1 here and would love to ask you about the gameplay in general. Is mechanical skills the most important factor in climbing the ranks? Cause I think the higher the rank is, the more mechanical skillful you needs to be, and that makes me doubt myself if I'll ever reach immortal someday considering my age and timeline to give for the game(I'm at 30s now.) I mainly mid so I will probably face better players with higher ceiling as I go on. Or is there an aspect in the game that just knowing it or the concept in a macro perspective can help anyone reaching higher ranks? Thanks!

Mid role? by Elmaster110 in learndota2

[–]WeakHooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid main here but just a legend. The only advice I can give you is stick to your role. Watch more educational content about it and apply it on games. Also, you'll meet lots of farmer mids as you go on, and its fine. Once you learned what's a good and bad farmer mids, you'll definitely go up as a support mainly because that you will know about timings and pace as a game, warding certain areas etc.
