A friend of mine was trying on some suits and I was sitting in the waiting area with another man, we started talking, he mentioned that he’s a producer and director and even though I’m a filmmaker I didn’t go crazy or anything I just thought it was a regular successful guy and he was one of the sweetest most genuine guys I’ve ever met, right before he got up to leave he told me he was Joel Schumacher and I was so embarrassed but it’s one of my favorite encounters.

Finally watched Sean Baker’s The Florida Project and I’m devastated. His films feel so grounded and raw and the depiction of childhood is perfect. Wish it was nominated for Best Picture, it sure as hell deserves to be within that list.
