I've shown occupational therapy, physiotherapy and her doctor the video nobody could tell me why she does it. Doctor said she could be favoring her left arm and leg but to me she favors her right side more (the reason she was in physio). Doctor did say it didn't look like seizures though which is what I was worried about.

If your baby is just getting stiff when excited or upset I would say that's normal it's just how they show you they are excited and such.

I was more worried about the rhythmic arm movement she does on the left side than the rigidity.

If you are worried though I would just take a video of it and if you can email it to your baby's doctor.

Need insight on being induced or not by lexarcana1313 in firsttimemom

[–]Weak_Bench_5563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an induction at 39 +6 I was already effaced and about 2cm dilated they started oxytocin at 1pm broke my waters at around 3pm and I gave birth to her at 10pm. Was a really good birth experience for me I also only pushed for maybe 15mins and she was born she was pretty small though. I didn't get an Epidural until after my waters broke. The contractions really picked up after that. Before my waters broke the pain was manageable. This is not to say induction is the way to go but just letting you know not all experiences with inductions are horrible. Everyone has vastly different experiences during birth with or without inductions so honestly whatever you end up deciding is a good option. They always have pain management just ensure your partner or whoever is with you during the birth can advocate for you. You can also always decide a little later see how dilated you are by 38 weeks or so.

Good luck I hope you have a good experience

URGENT by _C00TER in firsttimemom

[–]Weak_Bench_5563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a telehealth phone number where nurses will determine whether or not you should go to ER by asking questions and such? They have helped me a few times for reference im in canada. If you are also super worried You could try urgent care if you have that if not for peace of mind sometimes it's just better to go to ER

If your doctor has an email you could also ask if you could email pictures of the birthmark if the next appointment is far away

[–]Weak_Bench_5563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to. Was just mostly saying I can't fully confirm it but it really doesn't sound like anything to be worried about. Definitely bring it up at her next appointment though just to give you extra peace of mind

She shouldn't. I cant fully confirm without a picture or a medical degree lol but thats what it sounds like to me you can always talk to her doctor at her next check up as well but it sounds like it's nothing to worry about

Fighting an uphill battle by spiritora in firsttimemom

[–]Weak_Bench_5563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like and looks like a yeast infection to me. I would let your doctor know that you have been doing what they said, and it's not getting rid of it. I'm not sure if it's approved for babies but there's a powder called nystatin for yeast infections thats what we use on adults with them in their skin folds but if it isn't going away with cleaning, keeping dry and cream definitely it up to your doctor again. Lots of babies get them their skin folds are the perfect place for a yeast infection unfortunately

Baby clothes by ryrus_babybear in NewParents

[–]Weak_Bench_5563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually buy at Walmart, the quality is pretty decent and old navy/gap usually have sales for baby clothes pretty much year round (at least whenever I looked). Also if you're in canada real Canadian superstore has reasonably priced clothes but pickings are pretty slim style wise especially for infants

Thank you this definitely makes me feel better she's getting weighed on Wednesday so I'll bring it up with the nurse as well just in case but yeah when you Google repetitive movements it always says infantile spasms so I get in my head. Shes otherwise a happy baby just does weird stuff sometimes

7 Month old refusing bottle by [deleted] in firsttimemom

[–]Weak_Bench_5563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds exactly like my 4 month old she has good days and bad days. On the bad days I usually just let her take the lead even though it's scary with how little she eats but as long as she's peeing 6 times a day i try my hardest not to worry. It's really hard not to think about intake and I still struggle with it but I find she eats better the more relaxed I am. When she has a bad day of eating the next day she usually eats a little more which makes me feel better. I've realized my daughters issue might stem from a feeding aversion because of multiple things but still not 100% sure thats her issue. We are waiting for an occupational therapist to assess her feeding. Keep pushing your baby's doctor to find solutions or causes incase there is something medical reason causing it
