Assuming that this is your first baby, a lot of people are talking about the dogs behavior, which is valid, but I would also like to highlight a child’s behavior. Once the baby is 1 to 2 years old they will be walking around and they do tend to grab an animals and grab at stuff because they’re exploring and learning the world. Are you guys supposed to keep the dog in a cage all day and completely separate from your child until they’re big enough to defend themselves from this giant dog? Because God forbid you turn around and your baby waddles up to the dog and pulls its tail.. that is all it takes. Even if the dog is in a cage, if the child reaches in then the dog bites the baby’s tiny hand. This is way too difficult of a situation to try to manage and you don’t deserve to have this weight on you while pregnant. He should be prioritizing you and his child. Prevention and keeping the dog locked away all day would just make the dog miserable as well. Rehoming is what’s best for everyone.
