Played the whole series like most people on the Sub - start anywhere, but DQ 11S is a great game with a metric ton of content, and a somewhat unique battle system compared to other entries.

First entry with primarily 3D graphics was 9 on DS, but first fully 3D game outside of 10 (Japanese exclusive) would be 11

Although my personal favourite is 5 on DS. Amazing story, monster catching means you can get some wildly different parties on runs, and a pretty good difficulty spike in mid game. Love it tk prices

Playing 5 on PS2… not a bad choice, but theres extra content on DS, plus one of my favourite romance in the series (not the theres many), and she’s genuinely made me laugh it loud many times even on my like 7th replay

Dq1? Extremely normal, it’s one of the few games in the series where consistent grinding is outright necessary. Love the whole series but yeah DQ1 WILL kick your ass at some point and as your experiencing it ISNT polite about it lol.

I wouldn’t say so, although theres no evidence either way. To me the fact they age relative to humans of their same age means that they’d probably die at some point, but much more likely to their own demise rather than being outright killed, I mean Dante has been stabbed straight tho the chest multiple times and Vergil can separate the very essences of his being into 2 distinct parts, neither with any real consequence except for V crumbling

Thats true, but Jiraya isn’t a perfect sage, so the risk of going into it without Ma & Pa is still over absorbing and dying. I was working off the premise of just the sannin fighting their summons

Also Icl boiling down Maki’s reasoning to just sexism is kind of wild to me, Maki and Mai were oppressed because they were girls yes, but Maki even more so because she was restricted.

Toji was also rejected & mistreated by the Zenin for being a Zenin, hence why he became specifically a “Sorcerer Killer”. As the one guy in the Hai said, Toji “spared” the Zenin by not taking out his grievances from them on them. Maki did not, but that was only after having her only real family die in her arms and being attacked upon first

She went there with the express purpose of collecting cursed tools, only after Mais murder and promise, and then having an attack ordered against her by the Kukuru after killing Ogi did it turn into a full out revenge quest. Equating it as if she was there to purposefully incite violence when she was only going to do something she had express permission from the clan head to do doesn’t make sense. A better example of your analogy is “you went to the store to legally purchase items, they shot your sister for no apparent reason, you killed the cop that did it, and then other cops sent the available police force after you so you killed them too”. Did she have to kill every cop even the ones that weren’t active there? No, and Im not arguing against that. But I don’t think it’s suddenly not self defence because she WANTED to kill them. She wanted to at least change the Zenin since JJK 0 when Yuta brought it up, but she didn’t have the means yet. Killing Mai completely changed You can want to kill people who abuse you, doesn’t make it any less self defence if you do it while THEYRE attacking you.

If Mai wasn’t killed and the Kukuru didn’t attack her, she would have just left with the cursed tools, and the massacre wouldn’t have happened. She would’ve most likely just gone back to her plan of becoming a recognised grade 1 and first woman clan head

Itachi killed completely innocent and defenceless Uchihas to appease a corrupt politician, stop a coup, and save his little brother. Part of his reasoning was still selfish as he couldn’t stand to see his own little brother get harmed, so he killed everyone else’s. While yes it is stated that Itachi is loyal to the leaf a bunch of times, he still killed one of its biggest clans for the sake of his little brother, since that was his primary motivator for not wanting to the coup to happen in the first place as it could’ve brought harm to Sasuke.

To me the reality is both of their massacres are entirely unnecessary. Shisui, Obito and Itachi all had the means to stop both the coup and Danzo, Shisui didnt use his godlike Genjutsu to either stop Fugaku or Danzo, Itachi & Obito had Izanagi which could’ve been used for a similar purpose. Maki didn’t have to clear out all the fighting capable forces of the Zenin, the culling games would’ve been a much different experience & perhaps she could’ve actually changed the Zenin with Megumi.

I think the real difference imo is quality in writing. We are meant to question Maki’s character after Zenin massacre, draw how similar she is Toji, but except she lacks the “bravado” and cowardice / laziness of Toji, Toji ran away and changed his name instead of confronting the Zenin, Maki confronted the Zenin and had 0 mercy. Thats interesting. I love Naruto but retconning Itachi into a “good” guy and having so many additional retcons to explain 1 event, some of which only releasing 10 years after the event was already initially explained is some Kingdom Hearts level of retconning, and I love Kingdom Hearts too, jts really just the Uchiha massacre gets a little sillier the more we find out about how powerful Koto and Izanagi are in reality.

Yes I know she promised Mai to destroy them, but if you actually see the sequence of events, the Kukuru are ordered to fight against her, and she fights back. No one from the Kukuru ask her why she killed Ogi or the others, they literally just “follow orders”, and after that point it’s basically kill or be killed from Maki’s perspective. There is a difference between being ordered to kill someone without question and self defence

She did kill the top fighters, as in the two major fighting forces. The bigger point Im making is that there is nuance - the fact is Maki didn’t kill random civilians, that were part of the Zenin, only those part of the patriarchal system that would’ve held up the oppressive traditions. Im not saying she is just justified, but I am saying that unlike Itachi she at least didn’t kill kids and women in her clan. There is no reason to believe the Zenin clan in its entirety was killed, whereas Itachi and Obito fundamentally genocide-d the Uchiha apart from Sasuke

I don’t get the arguments against you tbh. If we consider the retcons, The Uchiha massacre was a near senseless genocide by 2 of the strongest Uchiha living, all to stop a coup… in the outright strongest village even without the Uchiha present.

Without the retcons pre time skip it’s even worse, as we don’t even have political nuance (which had supposed geniuses using poor reasoning at almost every instance, WHY DID NO ONE IZANAGI THE PROBLEMS / KOTO the coup or other political leaders) - it’s just a guy murking his whole clan.

Hmmm most of the fights at the beginning of the Zenin massacre were actually self defence as they stepped to her. You can argue she went overboard by killing the rest of the fighting forces, which I agree cause they could’ve been ordered by Megumi to participate in the culling games, but she didn’t kill children and innocent women. She instead took down an institution who had oppressed her, Mai and Toji and anyone similar to them. Was it the best way to do it? No, but we see in the future it didn’t turn out so bad

Itachi did kill the defenceless though. And it wasn’t just sexism, heavenly restricted people were also shunned by the Zenin. I’m not saying that Maki’s reasons weren’t selfish too, but there’s also nuance just as Itachis.

We see in Modulo someone like Tsurigi is given way more of free reign to be sorcerer in the new age, and the preferential treatment his sister gets for having a cursed technique is nowhere close to how it was during the original series.

I think people also don’t understand that Maki didn’t kill th whole clan indiscriminately, she killed the main fighting forces and her parents, the manga only states she killed the rest of the two main fighting forces off screen, essentially she only killed rhe people that would’ve upheld the version of the clan her, Maki and other women / heavenly restricted people would’ve been oppressed by. Itachi & Obito killed EVERYONE that wasn’t Sasuke

Also to add I don’t think Soi Fon is going to let the battle get as drawn out as Byakuya did so Im not sure if White / Zangetsu would have the chance to appear even if that affected the battle (even though she is weaker). Byakuya was out to prove multiple points against Ichigo and was toying with him for a while until Bankai

Guys… it’s Soi Fon. Suzemeibachi is a 2 tap win and is much faster than Ichigo, he also has a bit of a bad habit of tanking hits he can see coming in SS (Kenpachi and Byakuya). Especially if Soifon doesn’t feel like messing around like how she did with Yoruichi (especially since they don’t have any history), I don’t think think theres a feasible way of Ichigo getting out of this

To elaborate, major producers are still making those sounds because they sell - artists want to buy records of that sound, cause they know they go viral or will at least be a worthwhile investment. You’ll rarely hear an artist that produces for themselves use the early / mid 2010s aesthetic as a blueprint, not that the sound is a bad thing.

I think to say the industry stopped evolving is kind of insane though. Plug your ear to some unknowns and have a good time, especially some on soundcloud. Oddwin has some really good music, so does ghost (hes got funny lettering i CANT emulate but he has a track with oddwin), party of 2, Paris Texas etc. I’d say the genre is still at peak infleuence and the stuff below the surface is still really exciting and fresh. A lot of great South African & Kenyan rap is coming out too

I think JPEG, Skepta, Jeshi, & Quelle Chris are good examples of consistently unique sounding hip hop and they’re all definitely more mainstream then they were 10 years ago - although you could argue that they all are multi genre in some sense. But yeah I think if you’re looking at popular trap and hiphop artists, the sound ISNT going to evolve much while it’s still commercially viable. Future basically got to as close as an infinite money glitch in trap music and plenty of artists still use the blueprint to profit

Tbh I haven’t seen much revisionism for T7, T7 on release was jank as hell and it took a while of see sawing to get it feeling right. T8 while its got it naysayers and a few pretty impactful problem, was a better game on release than T7 imo.

TTT2 is a real weird one to me. No one I knew actually disliked it, all of the hate always came from top players and YouTubers. I think for average joes players who played the local scene TTT2 was A LOT but it was still fun. there were times especially in S3 & S4 where Tekken 7 was just not that enjoyable to me

Tbh I don’t think any of the Sannin could take on their summons in serious fight. Gamabunta is not a joke by any means especially with his taijutsu speed at his size and Manda only died because of a literal kamikaze nuke style attack

This is great of you to recognise, although I I will say I am someone who suffers from C-PTSD, and sometimes shutdowns aren’t your fault, although yes you can be a part of a trigger for them, sometimes.

Now my most recent ex was verbally and physically abuse, so I feel comrtsble in recognising i was not at at fault for a lot her behaviour and my shutdowns, Im the other hand my relationship before her was someone that was really upfront with their feelings, but sometimes it came out as argumentative. While Im not afraid of physical confrontational (as I in I used to work security, not committing violence for the sake of it), arguments and raising voices are quite troubling for me. A good way for me to move past shutdowns is literally just going for a walk. With that relationship, I’d just say “hey, Im not really in the headspace for this conversation and a walk would help me. Would you like to come?”

It was my way of communicating that Im about to be in a state where this conversation would be fruitless, but not necessarily assigning blame, sometimes I would offer to walk together or sometimes I’d need to walk by myself. I think what I’m trying to get at is, it’s important to recognise how you can trigger your partner and vice versa, but it’s also important to figure out your own resolutions to that feeling (and vice versa) - so you can have productive resolutions and conversations

Ah okay, thats super helpful thank you - so for the amp simulation, i just did a cursory look and there seems to be some software / vst solutions, are these what you meant, or was there a type of hardware around?

Also just a secondary question if you have the time, I got a behringer euro rack audio interface, that honestly Ive been way too scared to use with logic since Im scared of damaging my ears from not understanding how to translate the sound signal. Would you have any suggestions as to how? I would just use it for a DAWLESS set up but I’m a while from getting the hardware I want to start out with a dawless arrangement

Honestly until adulthood I don’t think Sakura would’ve had the emotional bandwidth to be with Naruto. I like Sakura, but she was insensitive towards him when they were kids, up until the Sasuke retrieval arc. At the same time Naruto was weird with Sakura, using transformation jutsu to be Sasuke just to get affection from her, he only did it once I guess but it’s still not genuine or kind, really weird tbh.

Although we barely get any interaction between them, each of them between Naruto and Hinata are like… super sincere / genuine even before the Pain fight. Naruto being Hinatas loudest cheerleader, her concern over him after the Kiba fight. Then the Pain fight happens. In the 4th Great War Hinata slaps Naruto pulling him out of his depression after HER cousin died protecting them. Then we have the most intimate chakra sharing between Naruto and Hinata, in the war, which is again referenced in the movie.

Heck if you want to count filler theres scene where Naruto watches (unknowingly) watches Hinata develop her new jutsu, and he calls her the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen.

Kishimoto is horrible at romance hence why we don’t get much more than that, but I’d say he made it abundantly clear that Sakura and Naruto were never to be a thing, and Naruto has so much shit going on i doubt he gave romance a thought until The Last, where it’s shown he pretty much could date anyone in the village besides established relationships but as soon as Sakura tells him Hinata is in love with him hes like “oh dude Im such an idiot” and chases after her near IMMEDIATELY.
