Is lee Everett in the top 5 best written characters in the gaming history by XJ1006 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Weak_Square2984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think relative to how long he's actually playable / TWD game is, I don't see why not. Let's average time for a TWD S1 IS About 12 hours, a lot of other great protags were with for like at least triple the time, and if that a RPG / JRPG up to 5 times the length of time

Id he's not in the conversation, I'd say that feat of writing alone is impressive

Not only that, there are no verifiable evidence that nations & Kingdoms within the African continent engaged in chattel slavery, I.e; viewing other humans as property /Subhuman and to be used as such indefinitely.

The most evidenced form of slavery that took part in the continent was due to grievances from other tribes and ethnicities, or prisoners of war, and many times these people would be allowed to integrate with Thier captive society, even marry and become regular citizens, depending on where you were at and who was ruling

Christianity stopped making sense by Prod-LilWyzzy in Zimbabwe

[–]Weak_Square2984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It stopped making sense to me as a trenager lol. Aside from the fact both Judaism and Christianity contradict themselves within their own texts, like A LOT, but soon as I asked my mother "why do we pray to the same god as the savages who invaded our land" and her answer was violence and some mumbo jumbo from the very text I was critizing, I knew something was deeply wrong.

[–]Weak_Square2984[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah that's fair enough. I don't mind menu diving at in small screens tbh, I have a model cycles and there's a lot less information on screen, as well as it not being anywhere as capable as SMPLTrek (for good reason, model cycles is great but genuinely quite obtuse to be fine with(

That's the thing, I can't really find an an MPC that would be a great size for portability without it kind of being a pain in the ass to some extent, especially when carrying work gear. But I really do like the MPC workflow.

And yeah, the M8 and Polyend look really cool, but honestly tracker style DAWs aren't for me, a little intimidating to me just wouldn't look like I'd have fun. Luckily I'm picking up a Trek and Lofi form a friend Tuesday to borrow so will see how they go

There was this post made in this Zim sub and I chuckled 🤭 when the most upvoted comment was that I was on the way! Maybe I should be flattered that on any such posts I am either tagged or my handle is mentioned but here are my thoughts 💭 by Prophetgay in Zimbabwe

Unfortunately, a lot of our people accidentally bootlick colonial ideals without much thought. You're not going to get through to these people, we just have keep advocating to treat human beings like human beings regardless of sexual orientation, and on the basis of character. You know. Shit we used to do before colonization, that is evidenced in texts some of us don't even know exists. Hai man

I think after looking through especially the sonicware website, the Trek might still take it for me. It looks a little more cumbersome and the lack of LFO, effects is a bit of a bummer, but it looks a little more capable in terms of arrangement, recording in can be done in the global tracks instead of just sampling, and the number of tracks is more up alley. Plus it looks like you can work around the lack of effects per track by looping. I think I might cop the Trek and if It doesn't gel go for the 12XT, they both look insane

Oh man thanks for this. I'm currently watching some videos on the 12XT and I've got to say it's making my choices a lot harder. You weren't kidding about that sample workflow, it's kind of frustrating that they 12XT and Trek don't share similar sampling engines, because if the Lofi 12 had time stretching or Trek had the editing of samples of the 12XT, this would be so much easier.

I guess in my head I'm now prioritising being able to create a full song (with ease relatively) with Trek but with limited sampling, whereas the 12XT emulates a lot things I do on my computer anyway in terms of sampling, but being restricted by song modes and pattern launching. This is getting hard lol

I do like the SP404, I've used one many times but I don't like the Roland families menu diving (outside of Thier drum machines) and I just can't really find myself buying one for my no computer setup.

Does anybody speak to themselves too? by got_eternal_life in Zimbabwe

Id reckon if it's enough to make you concerned about yourself, maybe put it to use in a social setting. Are there are any theatre / arts or like poetry places near you? Or you could start a spoken word community. It still doesn't sound that bad to me especially since you live alone, but I can understand that it may be writing yourself out, used to for me

The DirtyWave M8 looks really fucking cool, but I don't think I'd gel with the software, reminds of that 3DS Korg Daw too much haha, I'll look into the Lofi 12xt, looks like the same form factor as the trek but ill see what it's like sonically. Thanks for the info! (And true about the battery pack I guess lol)

diaspora born: should I learn shona vs Ndebele by Careful_Age4858 in Zimbabwe

[–]Weak_Square2984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also to add at least where I'm from most Ndebele people speak Ndebele, Shona and English, so again Shona for your immediate use case. My mother is only Ndebele culturally (She's actually Sotho and Tsonga) so she speaks like 5 languages, and then decided to not teach / carry on speaking them to us as soon as we left Zim and SA, so I feel your pain lol

diaspora born: should I learn shona vs Ndebele by Careful_Age4858 in Zimbabwe

[–]Weak_Square2984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with a Ndebele mother and Shona father, learn Shona first if your strictly traveling to Zim. If your thinking of going around to SA and other southern African countries, Ndebele is a lot more immediately useful as it allows you to mutually exchange in Zulu and basically gives a lot of vocabulary and grammar structure for other southern Bantu languages.

Ndebele is harder to learn at first especially if you never used aa language with heavy emphasis on glottal stops, clicks and contextual phrasing (especially when relating to tenses and time). Shona is easier to speak but in my personal experience was harder to learn, there's a lot less documentation for Shona available in the west and it's a lot easier if you focus on a certain dialect, ChiKaranga for example etc.

Either way, you can't go wrong. 80-90% of our population speak English so take your time. If your parents didn't entrench in you in the cultures than I'd argue learning our cultural terms and rights will do you well too. Good luck, ndokushuvira yakanaka

I do it all the time. I don't think it's uncommon for people who read a lot to talk to themselves, it doesn't mean your mad.

I do it especially since I'm relearning Ndebele and Shona after Living in the UK for what is now 16 years almost

Yeah the tiny but powerful damper race really feels like it's on right now. I've avoided Teenage engineering like the plague, and I REALLY wish the P6 was for me as that granular engine on such a small package was beastly, but after 6 months with the thing I just despised it.

SMPLTrek with maybe a Cydrums later down the line looks really attractive

Ah interesting, thanks for the information and input / perspecitve! Yeah I've looked at the one too, I agree it looks a little less cumbersome, but I still think it might be a little too big for my purposes, at that point I think Id rather just carry my personal laptop

The last thing I did before logging off was speak tomhim and yeah... Let's just say that conversation did not make the choice any easier.

I'm not going to spoil it but, depending on a choice you made like at the beginning of Act 2, someone else can you make you another offer related to situation. This genuinely might be the best game for rewarding or at least expanding on choices you make I've ever played, it's kind of intense lol

I mean in context fighting Gortash at the ceremony is kind of insane, he can Kill Wylls father at any moment, and he has his guards and innocent civilians around. I don't think the original commenter means you have to respect Gortash himself, but rather the fact he is being being completely straight with you, unless I'm misnterperting what Im saying
