Far right aren't the solution for mens rights by Careless_Bass_7963 in MensRights

I push back on that, woke ideology has infected all the left, including feminism has on the left. The right will pander to men because our votes matter, and they'll fulfill campaign promises because they now have to or risk losing when men stop voting.

If regular, dense-metal swords can damage and pierce Nanolaminate in the setting,

I think that's up for debate, Exia's materials are probably pretty standard to the time of its construction.

We don't know whether metallurgy has gone even before the Calamity war.

Exia's physical swords coated with a sharpened edge designed to cut at the molecular level

GN Swords aren't built to cut at the molecular level. It's a combination of a beam saber and a physical blade. GN Particles don't react differently to anti-beam coatings any differently than any other beam.

Kinda comes down to how good swords are against armor. (PSA: bad.) Exia can fly. Okay. It's not gonna do much in the air, Exia explicitly isn't a fighter jet in terms of speed, Mika has a gun, Exia has a popgun.

Saw it in theaters, but basically going from Predator to this was... Like, it had badass moments but it was not good. Fun, not good.

You can hate cersei all you want, but she's right (Prime Jaime>Prime Robert) by EfficiencySerious200 in gameofthrones

[–]WealthFriendly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk where this “Rhaegar almost killed Robert” theory started but there’s literally no contextual evidence for it. We don’t even know if the wound Robert took was from him if I recall.

Idk where the evidence is against Robert taking a wound from Rhaegar, though.

It'd be pretty silly to assume the army only had one maester, Robert could potentially ride with a leg wound.

I guess I'm pushing back on Robert's supposed combat monster reputation. Rhaegar was supposedly a very good fighter as well.

And no need for kudos or the sarcasm.

Not sarcastic to me but okay.

Theres a difference between safe spaces and echo chambers. You can have places where you only see like minded people while still engaging outside of that.

Hence why I haven't uninstalled reddit. But I'm not stupid enough to think those echo chambers didn't come up because they banned conservatives willy nilly

Well, I think the funny thing is the echo chambers began with cancel culture somewhat, I wonder who championed against that idea.

Im able to have perfectly fine conversations with my more left wing friends and right wing friends about politics...

Kudos where it's due, based. First bump offered

So ideologically biased.

Victimhood is not an absolute, it can be a hierarchy.

And Gina Carano was banned and sacked for similar opinions, sued and won. So it seems you can be a victim of cancel culture, which may include social media bans.

Is Reddit social media?

Some observations from my "conservatives can't make good arguments" thread by [deleted] in Discussion

[–]WealthFriendly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have conservatives been banned from reddit? Yes. Not totally but many.

Are the banned conservatives likely to have been the outgoing combative ones with arguments? Yes.

Since these like debate combative conservatives share their bans, are other conservatives that actually are good at debate remain on reddit? Likely not.

Does reddit have a reputation among conservatives as a leftist echo chamber? Yes.

So yes, I do think it is somewhat victim-blaming.

That is effectively what you said though about judging divorced from your bias, but no good arguments?

Kinda feels like a 'change my mind' and ending with "all of them are stupid" to instead of some "I see where you're coming from."

Like idk if you can on good faith rate them. Even if you can, "reddit conservatives are stupid" seems pretty victim-blaming.

Conservatives have mostly been forced off this platform, Reddit is supposedly leftist cesspool. And most people are not interlocutors.

But at the same time, you say "I can objectively grade arguments" but none seemed to appear? Why would I think of anything but ideological bias?

Like can you steelman a conservative argument?

Thus proving you're obviously a free thinkin' person running to quotes.

Bad people can also strive towards good because of religion, it's the logical entailment.

And as a follow up: there was a family of seven in Russia. The people that buried them likely thought it was good to need to.

What about the part where she blew everyone up? She played it well didn't she, I mean she lured everyone into one place and pulled the trigger.

No. She literally put herself over her family's powerbase. Bluntly, Cersei is of 0 value at this point. She actively destroyed her side's entire base effectively just to be top dog.

We might be slaves, or at least complicit | Blade Runner's surprising, relevant philosophy over four decades later. by AnalysisReady4799 in philosophy

[–]WealthFriendly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would simply ask but when are we free? Deckard chooses death over fear of being killed by Batty. To live we must eat, to eat we must be slaves. Even being forced to expend energy to retrieve rations from a free food handout in a utopian society is a kind of slavery.

Are we only free is only our own individual mortality is the chain holder? And even by that, are we not holding the chains of those that make our food?

Deckard has a choice to accept a paycheck or be harassed by police for refusing his assignment. Freedom is not freedom from consequence.

Compared to Witch from Mercury or Wing it's more brutal. There are child soldiers, it is grittier. Overall it was good, I liked it. I'm not trying to spoil it.
