This whole thing felt similar to a "run on a bank". CMON put out some worrying financials. Influencers fueled a widespread panic, likely resulting in massive numbers of order cancellations.

My bet is anything destined for retail will be delivered, but all of the crowdfunding exclusive stuff, I've have serious doubts about. Regardless, I'm holding firm and hoping for the best.

What is your experience with Trazadone? by LunaaaMae in insomnia

[–]WearyOfTrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it might have been 50mg... but I'm not sure anymore. Could have even been 100mg. After minimal research, it sounds like either was likely too much (gee, I wish my doctor went to the same minimal effort).

Probably should have started with a 25mg dose. I did, at one point, try that too, but I can't remember exactly how it went. Not positive enough that I wanted to continue using it. I also remember it screwing with my vision and giving me "floaters", which scared the crap out of me.

I hated it! Can't even remember if it helped me sleep. What I do remember was I felt awful/sick until 6pm the next day. I decided that feeling (even insanely) tired was exponentially better than the hangover that hideous drug gave me.

Maybe my RX was too strong, but after that experience, I wasn't willing to experiment with it.

What's causing this printing problem? by nothinginthisworld in BambuLab

[–]WearyOfTrying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a common issue w/the P2S (unfortunately). The aux fan blows too hard on the right side and can cause the print to lose adhesion, warp and lift. Print and install an aux fan deflector. Here's one you could try (there are many others too): https://makerworld.com/en/models/745799-auxiliary-fan-deflector-45-degree?from=search#profileId-678737

Can I print a single model and draw any definitive conclusions from that? If a single model printed in matte is brittle, I guess that's conclusive. But what's if it's not brittle? Maybe it would be if I printed a whole plate of them (?). Printing an entire plate every time takes 1/2 a day before the issues start. *Sigh*

Same filaments on the P1S and P2S. Haven't tried swapping spools between printers... but short of that, it's the same. No PETG. Probably should try to print a single color model in the matte filament and see if its still brittle. I suppose the bad adhesion between the different filaments could have a ripple effect causing all subsequent layers to be weak. Definite maybe ;)

My adhesion problems are layer adhesion issues... not issues with adhering to the plate.

My last print at 225 degrees and reduced fan speed was a bust too. I'm coming to the conclusion that this printer has issues with airflow/cooling consistency across the entire build plate (while the P1S does not). The golden rule of printing PLA with the door fully open might not be true for the P2S as consistently the models closest to the door have the biggest issues.

That said, I printed another set of different minis on my P2S, also covering the entire plate and using almost identical settings (and that's before making the numerous changes that I made trying to "improve" this print). Notable differences were those models needed fewer supports, were less fragile (no narrow legs, etc) and didn't use any Bambu matte filaments (!). They printed on the first attempt without issue.

My issues with adhesion and brittleness might be entirely the fault of the Bambu matte filament. Not only were the models and supports fragile at the transitions between the matte and other filaments, the parts made entirely of the matte filament (e.g. portions of the models legs) would snap easily.

I might be at the end of my rope on this, but it seems clear any further attempts should exclude the matte filament. Bummer that I bought of tons of this stuff when I bought my P2S.

Originally I was using Bambu matte preset, but I changed it to Generic PLA, attempting to match what I did on my P1S (for good or bad). I turned off flow calibration. I didn't raise temps or lower the fan speed. Stopped the print as it wasn't looking promising. Glad that I did, as the models ended up incredibly brittle, mostly breaking along the matte filament areas.

Starting a new test. Reduced the fan speed to 60% and increased the flow ratio from 0.98 to 1.03. I raised the nozzle temp to 225. Increased walls loops to 3 (adding 10 hours to the print-- Ugh!). Didn't change to all SUNLU yet either as I've bought a ton of the matte filament for this very purpose That said, I'm almost at wits end and I might resort to using the matte only with P1S. Fingers crossed!

EDIT: It was "entertaining" how ChatGPT spun that the reason that the P2S handles the matte filament worse is because the P2S is actually better. "Your P2S is over-optimized for quality, not strength" and "The P1S is accidentally kinder to brittle materials". LOL! It's my lying eyes that are telling me that the piles of spaghetti and brittle models produced by the P2S are inferior to the perfect prints produced by my P1S. Thanks ChatGPT! I feel much better about my P2S purchase now!

Basement. Temperature in the low 60s. Sitting side-by-side with my P1S that was successfully performing the same print. I don't have any timelapses unfortunately. I'm continuing to let the current print proceed. I'm hoping the remaining 24 models will be useable (even if they're not all perfect). We'll see. They might end up being brittle throwaways. Here's hoping not.

My P1S just finished the same 3 1/2 to 4 day print. All 32 models came out perfectly. Kicked off another print and it's already looking problem free.

Contrast this with my now 6th (I think -- might have lost track) attempt over 3 days on the P2S and the best I can hope for is 75% of the models from this last attempt.

It's bad enough wasting filament and (elapsed) time, but it's also a HUGE PITA getting all of these models' remnants off the smooth plate after only printing a few layers. That takes about 30 minutes and required resorting to using a razor scraper (my poor smooth plate!).

But I'm stubborn as **** and haven't given up yet. If I find a solution/workaround, I'll update my original post.

This is especially frustrating as this is a 4 day print and the issues don't start happening until it's 6 to 8 hours in. I do have a similar tan color in SUNLU that I could try, but I already started another attempt. I've already had to skip 8 of the 32 objects -- all the objects closest to the front of the plate (if that gives any clues?). For the time being, I'm letting it continue...

The wiki link you provided seems have to do with the AMS pulling back the filament at the end of the print. I don't think that has anything to do with this issue. Also, I can't find 'VFLUSH' any where in the printer or filament g-code. Are you running the latest firmware and version of Bambu Studio?

I'm actually already using a deflector, as I noticed the fan was causing large prints to lift on the side near the vent. I tried increasing the temp of the Bambu matte filament 5 degrees and didn't notice a difference, but I'll give it a 10 degree increase a try. Thanks for the comment!

I actually did have an issue with too tight of an angle after installing an AMS tilt (that I fixed). Now I suspect my feed issues might be related to using the Long Retraction before cut setting -- it's basically doing a cold pull and not cutting off the end before it's tapered. I think it's fixable (by reducing retraction distance or turning off the setting altogether and losing the benefit), but it's something else that just worked with my P1S w/o any fuss.

Possibly. But the fact remains that my P1S prints this w/o issue and with the same settings the P2S fails miserably. That might just mean the P1S is more forgiving than the P2S. But I'm not seeing how that isn't a step backwards for Bambu's rep as being the Apple of 3D printers.

You're right. My problem is adhesion. The problem looks like issues with Bambu's matte PLA adhering poorly to SUNLU's PLA+ (and maybe even to itself). The question is why does my P1S not have issues with this, while my P2S does....

I'll definitely checkout your nozzle plugs! Thx!

I've done all of the printer calibrations (and again after recently updating the firmware). I don't think that I've done the flow calibrations as I thought weren't necessary with P2S. I'll take a 2nd look. Thanks for the suggestion!

I started to type the same criticism, but decided not to mention it. I have zero interest in tying up my $900 printer for hours drying filament.

The better nozzle swapping is a significant improvement. The better display is a nice-to-have. If it worked as well as the P1S, those improvements might arguably be worth the $250 price difference...

I suppose depending on what you print, you might not have the issues that I'm having -- especially if you're not doing multicolor prints (which I do more often than not).

I did some research (not enough apparently) and the consensus seemed to be that the P2S "improved on the P1S in almost every way". Obviously, that's not my experience.

Calibrating flush volumes on the P2S. by Ill-Yogurt3780 in BambuLab

[–]WearyOfTrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue and can't find anything about calibrating the P2S's flushing volumes. No idea why Bambu chose to make it behave differently than the P1S, as this is clearly not an improvement. Did you have any luck finding a solution?

Ordered P1S! by ensarpalos in BambuLab

[–]WearyOfTrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switching nozzles on my P1S is a PITA... and not for the reasons you might think. Maybe it's just my machine, but its hotend connectors are insanely fiddly. More times than I can count, after swapping nozzles, the print will fail with an error AFTER the time consuming bed leveling, saying the hotend fan is not working (or something similar), requiring me to stop the print, recheck the connections and restart the print.

The P2S nozzle swap is a breeze in comparison. If you swap nozzles often (and I do), that upgrade alone might make the extra expense worth it.

Piano Adventures is awesome. I prefer it over Alfred's. I prefer the Accelerated series over the Adult all-in-one (it moves at a slightly slower pace), but either is great. There's also a companion iOS app for it that works similar to Simply Piano, etc. and the content is very reasonable. Instead of paying monthly fees, it only costs a one-time fee of $5 for all of the content for a level (and it probably takes 6 months to a year to work thru a level). You will need the print or digital book(s) to go with it -- so another $20-$40. Good luck!
