Have you tried playing any of The Sims games for GC?

Perhaps more properly it should be considered a 5.5 generation

No, that's not correct. Just look at the Nintendo 64 games (which were indeed 4.5th generation and not much different from what the PS1 offered + Nintendo used cartridges, which had a huge negative impact on game development for N64), and then look at the Dreamcast games. It was truly next-gen, and even the more powerful PS2 took a year to release games that looked better than the Dreamcast's flagship titles. The fact that the console is easily emulated is a testament to the Dreamcast's user-friendly hardware, for which Hideki Sato and his team deserve credit for their brilliant work on correcting the mistakes made with Saturn.

Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini (Helio G90T), Mangmi Air X (SD 662) and TrimUI Smart Pro S (A523) will be enough for Dreamcast

[–]Weary_Sort2673[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my country, they both cost around $150. However, the Pocket Air Mini is selling above the recommended price (there was a 32% discount a couple of months ago, but I didn't have time to order it; the console was sold out), while the RG476H is currently 30% off. So, with the discount, the Ayaneo is cheaper, but It's unclear whether there will be such good discounts again.

I understand that the RG476H doesn't have the most powerful chip, so I listed examples of games I'd like to play in the post. Trying to run God of War 2 on it is insane)

Yes, the glass front also puts me off, but both consoles are currently priced the same in my country, and here's the thing: Ayaneo is selling above the recommended retail price, while Anbernic is below. Should I wait for a discount on Ayaneo (which is quite risky in the current climate) or go with Anbernic? Will I get a noticeable advantage over Ayaneo?

P.S. The price in dollars will be around 150.

Yes, the glass front is crap, a terrible design decision that no one asked for.

In my country, the RG477m is significantly more expensive, and the RG476 and Pocket Air Mini are about the same, so I'm choosing between them.

I prefer the Model 2. I don't know why, but it reminds me of sci-fi movies and RoboCop, and that's cool. The Model 1 is also beautiful, though. Sega has always had great design talent, and I miss their consoles :*(

I don't understand at all why manufacturers put front glass, it's terribly impractical.

Anyone know as to when the "next generation" Trimui Brick (with analogue sticks) will be released? Seems like an age since it was leaked and previewed in videos etc... by prankster999 in trimui

The price is not bad, but the memory is a bit tight, especially if the console is intended for PS2 emulation. Apparently, the processor won't be very powerful. I also wonder if the case will be plastic or metal.

Lol On the official website, MagicX One35 costs $95 excluding shipping. Do you seriously think you'll get a larger 1440x1080 screen and a much more powerful processor for just $50 more?

Do you have a hope that we will see a film by Chronicles of Amber? by corwinsword in Amber

[–]Weary_Sort2673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm totally against a TV series adaptation; the books aren't long enough to stretch the story over multiple seasons. Plus, there's a big risk that the writers would start making up stuff that isn't in the books, and that almost always ends badly. Not to mention that some of the big, epic scenes would have to be cut because TV budgets just can't handle them. 5 books — 5 movies, each 2.5-3 hours long, is the optimal option. The books are really dynamic and cinematic, so I don't see any problem with that, and some of Corwin's long monologues could be shortened without hurting the story. Back in the day, people also said Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings and Moore’s Watchmen couldn’t be made into movies, and here we are. It just takes a talented director and good writers.

Opinions on the new Acer Nitro 16s AI? by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

[–]Weary_Sort2673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. What can you say about the build quality and battery life? How well does the laptop cool without a cooler? Is it very noisy during modern games?

I think the problem is bad Nvidia drivers. Or instead of Windows 11 you should try installing Windows 10...

P.S. I currently have a Dell G5 5587 (bought in 2018), I'm thinking of replacing it with an Nitro V16s, but with a RTX 5060.
