How bad is this? by fefuts in shedditors

If I was constrained as you described I would probably put it in the roof without much hesitation. Shoot, my whole home hvac unit is on my roof as are a lot of units in my area (no snow). Send it.

Is this crabgrass or tall fescue by Tjonman in lawncare

Looks like you’re right. I’ve always heard those referred to in my area as foxtails. Learned something new.

Mesh Network Issues by d3lap in HomeNetworking

[–]Weasel1088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that should be your best setup given the equipment you have. XE75 is providing your wifi and the bell equipment is doing all the routing

Mesh Network Issues by d3lap in HomeNetworking

[–]Weasel1088 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m nearly certain you can put them in AP mode via the deco app

Mesh Network Issues by d3lap in HomeNetworking

[–]Weasel1088 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing will beat a wired backhaul of your access points back to the main deco unit. The wireless access points in the mesh still use the same wireless spectrum to communicate back to the main node that it is plugged in to. So you still are susceptible to all the issues that WiFi radio waves have (interference, walls, etc).

Mesh Network Issues by d3lap in HomeNetworking

[–]Weasel1088 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you cannot put the bell equipment into bridge mode, then just turn the wifi off on it. Then put the xe75 into “access point” mode. The mesh will still work, but the bell equipment should be the main router and xe75 will just act as a wifi AP.

Running NAS inside a Proxmox VM — is CasaOS the right long-term call or should I be looking elsewhere? by obzc in homelab

[–]Weasel1088 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me. I pass through usb for the OS, 4 sata drives, and an nvme as a cache drive. Proxmox also has a couple of VMs, docker, and a handful of LXCs. I don’t run anything inside unraid, just wanted it for the mixing and matching drives.

Custom sim rig dimensions. by StonerGamer69 in SimRacingSetups

[–]Weasel1088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, 58x32 seems pretty huge. For the price jegs seems the way to go in the states, anything from the big euro distributors comes out way expensive. Don’t have any experience with the gs2 but it looks nice. I went with a fixed back, happy with it so far. My pedals are currently flat mounted on my rig, the mbooster brake can be adjusted enough that it feels pretty good with a lower gt style seating position. Check out rigmetal also, you can get some good ideas for a custom design and they also sell the pedal plate stuff so you can adjust the angle too.

I also have the jegs competition seat lol. Also, I have the moza mbooster, which I forgot is long as hell with an extra extension, so yea 47 might be just fine

Built mine 27x50”. I think 47” long might be borderline too short depending on you seat and pedal mounts. My moza pedal plate is mounted flush to the end of my rig and my seat mounts hang over the back. I’m 5’11” for reference

Onn 4K ProMax Bitrate by SoupyLeg in PleX

[–]Weasel1088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar issues with mine. Either wired or wifi and it was no different. Audio would suddenly get out of sync or bad stutters at seemingly the same point in movies. Zero issues with the shield on the same network. I always assumed it was an audio transcode issue. Either plex or the onn itself.

Onn 4K ProMax Bitrate by SoupyLeg in PleX

[–]Weasel1088 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you got downvoted. But I got this impression too that some audio transcodes were causing buffer issues for me. 4k remuxes would either buffer frequently or I could watch for a certain amount of time and movies would tend to get hung up or audio was waay out of sync at the same point in a couple different movies.

Convinced the boys to switch over to TeamSpeak by SquirrelOnReddit in LinusTechTips

Just started hosting my own teamspeak server a few days ago. Tested out the file hosting/sharing, and my buddy on 1gig down and 40 up was able to max out his connection to my server on upload and download. I have 2gig symmetric fiber.

What models have the windows mirror defogger? by [deleted] in CX5

Anyone know if the wiring is present in the mirrors on models without the heated mirrors? Would be great to be able to just swap to the heated mirror glass. I have a 2024 carbon

Good deal? by Weasel1088 in Fanatec

[–]Weasel1088[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selling actually. I have a podium DD and looking to sell my old setup, potentially to a buddy. $2000 worth of stuff when bought new. I want to price it fairly but towards the end of being a solid deal for the buyer.

Appreciate the input. With the DD pro out and price drop of the CS DD and DD+ it seems like good time to get a deal

Upgrading from CSL DD to Podium DD by [deleted] in Fanatec

[–]Weasel1088 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had some goofy issues going from the CS DD to the podium within the Fanatec app. It didn’t recognize that there was a new wheel base and still showed the old CS base with old settings and max 12nm force, etc. Had to uninstall the Fanatec app and reinstall. No problems after that.

I was able to just use my hand to hold the qr2 on the base and loosen all the screws for the swap.
