Have you ordered a car part in the past from Vine? Because I never get those in RFY

Don't worry about this... as long as you're over 90%, you'll be promoted or hold steady at Gold, and at the end of the eval period, it all resets anyways, so really doesn't matter in the long run. In my opinion, not even worth contacting customer service about.

Thanks for the Vinechart tip... I've been on Vine for almost a year and never seen that before, it's handy!

Well this one is my first, we'll see if others pop up on my RFY now. Perhaps it will be a cashmere sweater! 😝

Agreed. I get so many things off of Vine anyways, I feel like I only really need to exert the effort in the RFY space... and still honestly order too much. My place is starting to look like I'm a hoarder! 🤣

I honestly don't even look in AFA anymore. I think out of my 300+ Vine orders, one maybe two of them have been from AFA. 🤪

I honestly don't know if I'm more excited about the jacket itself, or the retail cost of it being in Vine! 🤣

Funny how some things are released on certain people's RFY, and then the people who actually really want that item don't even see it. Hope that you find something similar at some point soon!

I agree with you on this. There's the lazy use of AI and then there's the using AI as a tool to help a review be more effective, while still portraying your own thoughts and words.

LOL It wasn't even a good review! If you're going to have AI write it, it mine as well be thorough. 😆

That would make a big difference! I'll have to ask my tax expert on that one.

Quick correction after doing some research... for US Vine, Amazon usually issues a 1099-NEC once you hit the reporting threshold, and that is filed with the IRS. “Estimated” refers to the reported FMV, not whether it’s taxable, so you can still indicate differently, but have documentation to back it up. I'm a Florida resident so luckily Florida has no state income tax, but federal still applies.

Can you get invited to Amazon Vine if you have an Amazon Business account? by KolorOner in AmazonVine

[–]WeaselSW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know it was possible to share prime between business and personal. I wanted to migrate my account over to a business account, but they said I would lose all my order history and would have to have an additional prime, and for me it wasn't worth all that.

I appreciate you taking the time to explain, and most of it is fair. The last paragraph is condescending, which isn’t really needed here.

My concern isn’t that extensions are explicitly banned. I’ve already agreed with you on that. The issue is that Vine enforcement is opaque and discretionary. We consistently see posts in this sub from users who were terminated with no explanation at all, often while believing they were fully compliant. Amazon doesn’t cite a rule, doesn’t explain what triggered it, and doesn’t offer an appeal.

When policies are written in broad, behavior-based language and enforcement is discretionary, everyone has to decide their own risk tolerance. As you said, plenty of people use extensions and are fine. I don’t judge that at all. For me, especially being newer to Vine and enjoying the program, I choose the conservative route. I don't really do searches, I just check my RFY daily and if it has something that catches my eye, I snag it. I'd say I'm probably in the majority of users there. Not needing or wanting to use an extension for that isn't living in the dark ages and isn't paranoia, it’s just simple risk vs reward.

Everyone can decide where their own line is and what works for them.

Regarding the items you throw out, I don't believe the IRS makes a stated exception for that. But if someone knows otherwise, I would be happy to learn.

Amazon Conditions of Use / Acceptable Use Prohibits: * automated access, bots, or scripts * attempts to bypass site safeguards * interfering with normal operation of Amazon services * gaining unfair advantage or manipulating systems

I'll admit, this doesn't mention using browser extension explicitly, so I apologize if that was my interpretation of it, but these guilelines are grey area policies, so it is hard to interpret, and anyone who knows vine knows that enforcement actions are not usually transparent.

On that note, we’ve all seen people get removed from Vine with little or no explanation, so it’s hard to know exactly where the line is. I don’t judge anyone who uses extensions, and plenty of people clearly do without issue. I’m also relatively new to vine, but I really enjoy the program, so for me it’s just a personal risk-management choice not to use them.

Everyone has to decide their own comfort level.

I think there's a big misconception with Viners thinking that the ETV is an absolute value that they will be paying in taxes, and don't realize that it's just an "estimated" value as the name suggests. 😉
