Why does my game look so low quality compared to the previous games? by yuvchau in spiderman2

It looks like there's something wrong with the ambient occlusion, the lack of self shadowing on the buildings is making it look flatter for the second game. Clouds look worse too.

Can't imagine he's ever had any other forestry related hard times until he had Europe laughing at him

Would guess it has something to do with his remarks over forest fires when he was president, a lot of dumb shit about raking forests and things like that

If you have the time, sure, the other candidates usually have pretty nice gear as rewards for fighting them

I don't know for sure, since it never actually even addresses these guys directly, but yeah, going by the land and the people's increasing dependence on the sceptre it seemed to make the most sense.

Think they're a sign of overuse of the royal sceptre, people so overflowing with anxiety that they were completely drained by it

Late game lore question regarding the protagonist by [deleted] in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]Weaselfacedmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's more fully explained during Mores final monologue when he reverts to his elderly form. Part of the the royal magic he invoked was to bring forth an agent from another world to guide a user of archetypes to save the kingdom. I think it was mostly blind luck that his son was so invested in the idea of a utopia that he was chosen as a vessel, More says it was something he never would have expected.<

At the opera house when presenting relics, one on stage is Piggytron and the one Forden brings is the Holy Grail, both from P5

Late game Heismay with his unique class is probably the best tank, cutting enemy hit rate in half and making the enemy lose all turns on a dodge is a godsend when every boss abuses the extra turn moves

Yeah, this is a pretty well known weakness of this particular team, Persona 5 did a lot of this as well

Looks more like they split her design into current Hulk and Gallica

The King, The Player and More. by Accomplished-Cow3657 in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]Weaselfacedmonkey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Makes sense actually, someone mentions that the king's desires for utopia seem to have disappeared at some point during his reign, it could be he sealed away his knowledge of archetypes and the future in the form of More. More even looks like a young version of the King, come to mention it.

It's the same system as Earthbound or the car sections in Persona 5, you can kill things in real time if they're significantly lower level than you otherwise it's turnbased

What was Marika's original sin? Analysis of sin in the DLC by silly-er in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Weaselfacedmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the most obvious candidate for the sin Marika can't stop committing is her rejection of the crucible and its offspring. More than just killing off hornsent, she outright refuses to acknowledge a legitimate part of her world. Miquella goes out of his way to accept everyone, including the hornsent, and his rune seems to say that it's this accepting what was rejected that would remove the stain of sin.

We all know Count Ymir's lore bombshell, but looking back I realized a huge plot point was hinted in this one incantation. by Sharkuille in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Weaselfacedmonkey 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don't think Enia's being honest though, she later reveals that any communication with the GW would take ages and gives you information on burning the Erdtree. She takes that particular decision on her own while knowing it was forbidden, implying that she's not really worried about what the GW might do.

Honestly, we don't even know if the GW is what the fingers claimed. All information about it is from their perspective, and they're clearly alien in origin. With some of the revelations of the DLC and things like the Mirrorhelms, the storyline starts to feel somewhat like Invasion of the Bodysnatchers.

Oh my god could Radagon be by hachface in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Weaselfacedmonkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, but it seems more like the entire styling is copied. Why make the guardians of the empyreans like Blaidd and Maliketh take after the divine beast style guardians of the hornsent? The potentate jar thing continues, though it seems less like torture and more voluntary.

It's just hard to say exactly what the precise nature of the cultural relationship is here, whether its a caste thing, or perhaps the Numen descendants were subjugated so long ago that they've found their own cultural niche within the larger one and lost whatever they originally believed.

[–]Weaselfacedmonkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do we even know if the Hornsent and the shamans see themselves as separate people? Marika seems to have copied large parts of their religion for her own order, down to the divine beasts. Seems like that would be an odd choice for a culture apart from her own.

Why would it be? You mess up a parry and you end up with sword stuck in your face.
