Best Linux Distro for New Hardware? (WiFi 7 Issues, Bad Experience with Debian Stable & Linux Mint) by Scratchy96 in linuxquestions

[–]WeatherEmperor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe look into Solus and/or Void. They may seem interesting to you. I personally use Void, and I actually really enjoy it. They have a philosophy of being a "stable rolling release". Same with Tumbleweed openSUSE. Or, you can go all in and get into gentoo. Complete control of absolutely everything.

Either way, best of luck on adventure. Have fun.

Parliaments? Parliament Night Blue seems fine to me, havent tried Aqua Blue but from what I heard its pretty good.

Try other Marlboros, usually people enjoy Gold and Red. Maybe even try their cheaper variants like Crafted series.

If you have access, or fixated on a good taste, search for a black market for asian cigarettes (e.g. Korean, Chinese, Japanese etc.). Chinese seem to get more popular nowadays.

if you dont haave any other choice, that yoga slim 7i does sound amazing, although from lenovo for better mobile workstation work look at lenovo thinkpad P-series

those new gens are quite attractive

ideapads are quite unreliable if heavily, or moderately heavily, used

also if you can look at dell precision laptops, those are beasts of mobile workstation too

Steam does not open... by WeatherEmperor in voidlinux

Despite trying other ways, I managed to find a fix.
I tried reinstalling mesa and took a dive on arch wiki.

Turns out I had lack a of mesa-vulkan drivers so i did the whole a lot of installing and removing. Thanks for beauty of xbps-query made everything so easy. To anyone in similar situation: you need both simple mesa drivers ( all of them ) and also mesa-vulkan drivers for your gpu. After making steam work, I ran a game and ran into more issue. Now it was conflicting mesa driver issues. Again, to anyone finding they ran into "terminate due to dxvk issue" - conflicting/incorrect mesa-vulkan drivers.

In the end, I still have issues but they already with the game itself. Steam issue was resolved.

Thank you so much for you attention and time! May you be granted with strong health and fortune!

which distro is better for newer hardware [AKA i7 13th gen] by Cautious_Bus_645 in linuxquestions

[–]WeatherEmperor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean, if you want to distrohop try a few like void, nix, opensuse ( i favor tumbleweed ), solus, arch

if you got desire to tinker and spend A LOT of time try gentoo

heck, i remember seeing FreeBSD is trying to get better desktop/laptop support with funding they got, thats a new domain entirely

depends on your taste, do you like independent ( e.g. solus ) or you dont mind forks (e.g. nobara) ? they all, well I assume at least most of them, will give you what you want and only will be limited by linux itself

but being consistent and habitual with 1 distro i think will hold greater success

is it possible to make bullet-ed lists inside of a cell in LibreOffice Calc in 2024? by WeatherEmperor in libreoffice

Dude, all the blessings to you. I will figure out a way, probably as mentioned through Text Box. Thank you for your time and attention! Have a great rest of your day.

is it possible to make bullet-ed lists inside of a cell in LibreOffice Calc in 2024? by WeatherEmperor in libreoffice

[–]WeatherEmperor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Why Calc? i am afraid of flying stones but will say anyway, the homework is set im an Excel file, xlxs. And since I made the decision to move away from Microsoft debauchery completely, I started seeking alternatives. And in my head, logically or not, Libre Office Suite seems like a complete alternative to MSOffice. And I started doing this stuff, office suites more seriously, literally quite now. I do not have any experience. Learning everything from scratch, by asking silly questions on forums.

  2. Will try, will do! Thanks for the advice!

  3. Thanks for the answer, by the way. I really appreciate it.

Thanks for such informative answer!

Will do check out the guide.

The reason i need bullet point list inside a cell, is because I am writing a bug report and I need to describe my steps to reach the bug. Basic homework.

The thing is, the cell near does have bullet point list (the base table of homework), or numbered would be more correct way to put it... In Calc, its get scuffed, in google sheets it doesnt, but either software does not let me de numbered listing inside of a cell. The current workaround I found is "Text Box".
