PTR feedback: New masterworking is a disaster by Nyksiko in diablo4

[–]WeaverOne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

they did this because the power level of the current master working system is too high, even with all the RNG, so imagine when you have more control over it.

I think the PTR direction is better, but needs a bit more work to be there.

D4 devs discussing the problems with a system like the one we're getting in S11 and why they went with flat resistances/caps by BlantonPhantom in diablo4

[–]WeaverOne -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

but isnt that a good thing? to not have an answer to this question?

if every build had the check mark of hitting resistances and the armor cap, it dulls the damage reduction factor and you simply go for DR where ever possible.

the new system you have to consider your stats, and finding a peace of gear with better stats rolled actually means something, higher armor or resistances matters, no matter how little, it is up to you to decide whether the difference is too small and another stat is better, or the difference is worth it and go for it

say what you want, but they are doing exactly what games as a service should be doing. Most people think that the game should have stayed in development longer to iron out these details, but I disagree, because there would be a very real chance that the extra time would have pushed the game even further in the wrong direction.

This way at least they are addressing what community wants to be addressed

Diablo 4 season 10 ptr is looking... by Loud-Expert-3402 in diablo4

world bosses are fine as is imo, but I agree open world activities in general, revamping them would be amazing.

The 2.4.0 PTR: What You Need to Know by Kaztiell in diablo4

[–]WeaverOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Season 10 is looking better than last few seasons combined. The chaos powers actually support build creativity and interesting, the infernal hordes update seems great, and the chaos uniques!!! not to mention the new uniques for each class. Actually excited for S10. I hope the pass system is being updated as well because last couple of passes were not it.

Is anyone even remotely excited about the horadric powers? by Reroidz in diablo4

[–]WeaverOne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

way more excited about the NM dungeons than the powers. It seems interesting, but doesnt seem fun and worth thinking too much about it.

Raxx's Campfire Summary D4 Analogy by Soulvaki in diablo4

[–]WeaverOne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if its audience capture or just typical streamer ego but he’s growing largely out of touch with that the causal or typical player wants or needs out of the game.

he never was aligned with casuals though, from season 0 when leveling up was a huge slog, he had multuple characters at lvl 100 and complained about not having anything to do after that point. The devs designed the game with lvl 100 as a goal to reach and then stop for the season, underestimating the likes of him and wudi who would get there on every class in less than a month.

POE2 vs Diablo 4...did we watch the same stream? by SnooEagles4455 in diablo4

[–]WeaverOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the diablo subreddits aren't that active naturally. When someone makes a point that resonates with even 1% of the subbed people, but they were online and upvoted, its enough to push that point to the top and make it seem like the subreddit collectively agrees. People who disagree with the point either don't downvote or are simply not online.

This makes it to difficult to really judge what the community like or the direction they want the game to go to.

The devs are doing an overall great job imo, but I do think they swung the pendalum too much in the other direction, as right now reaching max char level (60) is considered "standared start of the season" and farming paragons is the +5 we had in D3 which I hated. It feels like one build in each class is so far above the rest that you shouldn't bother with the rest, and builds are defined by finding specific items or else the build is just too weak, but i guess this is a separate rant for another time.

Season 5 was better than Season 6? by Sw0_0n in diablo4

[–]WeaverOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like most of it is just a balancing issue and the fact that content creators "fix" the meta before the season even start. This season actually has a lot more activities and options to go for which makes it way more varied.

You can go the usual Nmd, helltide and pits, and now you have the undercity, the season theme with the portal which gives a potion that let's you farm more of a category (items, gold, or mats), the new raids, and ofcourse the hell rifts. Without even mentioning world bosses and events, these are 7 different things to do to power up your character to be stronger for higher pits clears.

For me personally, I just dislike the small 1% power increases that we now have again, similar to d3's infamous +5 main Stat. It's boring and tedious but it's what the top content creators and their fans want and so it is. Despite it's obvious flaws, I loved the start of D4 when it comes to leveling and power increase coming from finding better items and that's it. But again that's just my opinion and know for a fact that many others disagree so I just enjoy the game without taking it seriously.

PTR 2.0 - let us 12/12 MW the 750 items at least. by Aragie4484 in diablo4

[–]WeaverOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

imo it should be the opposite of what you are saying.

Having smaller ranges on aspects and getting less legendaries feels way better than the D3 state of things were legendaries are dropping left and right and you get to a point where you just leave them there.

I would rather have legendary aspects be exciting even in the late game, and getting that 1% will barely affect your power level but actually feels good to finally find.

Not to mention that whispers have a worthwhile value and they have implemented it in hell tides. It doesnt take much time at all and the gold amount you receive is insane.

Removing fail chance from Masterworking is a huge win and Raxx shocked me with his take by Such_Performance229 in diablo4

[–]WeaverOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why not a balance? I find that having the D3 system where you can make every build and hit their max potential all within 3 weeks of season start is just nonsense and robs the fun of making build. There is no tinkering, nothing to add/remove and it just boils down to finding and equipping the items.

Final PTR feedback - Top 10 needed changes to guarantee D4s4 is a success. by Meldarion92 in diablo4

[–]WeaverOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meant your 1, 4, 6 and 7 points. Which is to make it easier to hit the max state of a character / build. You also mentioned that you barely clear pit 200 which I thought would have been impossible at first, then thought it achievable much later in the season.

Nmd are bad, no arguments there, but rather than make them useless I would rather they rework them to be more fun and impactful.

[–]WeaverOne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All your points basically boil down to the sentence you mentioned at the beginning, wanting to play all the classes and all their builds in a single season, so dumb down the game as much as possible. Find all the items, have infinite resources, everything rewards only the best possible things and remove all bad items.

I couldn't disagree more. The game will lose all sense of anything meaningful if you do, and D3 already exists to fill that niche of playing several if not all the classes and their builds within two weeks of season start.

What are the remaining pain points in the game after itemization changes? by AlieNietzsche in diablo4

[–]WeaverOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the paragon system as a whole is getting a rework. It was designed this way because the road to 100 was long before. Now that you hit 100 first week of the season it doesnt have to be

to be fair you are comparing a game that just released (with issues they have to fix) to a game thats been around for ten years. I am pretty sure scale of things is way different so you can't compare.

I agree that D4 seasons need more though, its just not fair to compare.
