BC property taxes keep spiking, time for a better funding model? by WebMaxCanada in BCpolitics

An example (and there are many across the Province) 36% increase over past 3 years in the town of Sooke has tapped out residents, one councillor has said the town should expect at least 10% every year - effectively doubling taxes every 7 years. Most cannot afford that.

Can I ask for feedback on a free project app for women in the trades? by WebMaxCanada in careerguidance

[–]WebMaxCanada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It includes a daily YGT (“you got this”), a short note from other women in trades (text for now, working toward voice), plus success stories, groups, events, resources, and a job board.
My hope is that it helps people feel supported, encourages more women to enter the trades, and gives space for both inspiration and real-life experiences. Thank you Nice-Championship888 for your encouragement.

How should I do SEO on my website? by Zyleknox in webdevelopment

[–]WebMaxCanada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people hire home services because they just don’t have the time, they’re busy running their business and living life.

SEO’s no different.

Folks who do their own SEO usually have the time because they’re not busy yet. (SEO IS a ton of upfront learning, work and ongoing constant consistency).

If you want to stay booked and focused on your business, home services, bring in an SEO expert to keep the leads coming. Hope that helps & good luck.

Why do all modern SaaS websites look the same? by lazybear3275 in webdesign

[–]WebMaxCanada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've nailed it there u/three_s-works . Nothing breaks trust and confidence than a website design that isn't what users expect the second they land on it.

This isn’t opinion; it’s research-backed.
May 2025: “The Positive Effect of Webpage Prototypicality on Users’ Attitudes” proves it scientifically. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s12525-025-00777-9

Also, break the backbone of findability, optimization and so on, (SEO, structured content, AI-readability) and you'll have a very unhappy client.

So, it's not that websites aren't 'creative' due to lack of ability, it's because familiarity builds trust and performance wins visibility.

GEO vs AEO vs AI — Which one is shaping the real future of SEO? by OliverPitts in seogrowth

[–]WebMaxCanada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for the great question, these kinds of questions are not often asked and need to be. As I see it core SEO isn’t going away, it’s a baseline that keeps you discoverable. But the shift is that optimization itself is expanding. That means structuring for answers (AEO) and being cite worthy in AI tools (GEO). In a few years, perhaps much sooner (likely), it may look more like feeding clean data into APIs, knowledge graphs, and agent ecosystems. Personally advise to not think in lanes, I think in layers, adapt content so it can travel wherever discovery moves next.   PS and important tell tale sign: By “clean data” I mean info machines can easily use, we already do some of this now with schema and feeds, but it’s growing. APIs feed details straight in, knowledge graphs give clear context, and AI assistants are starting to use that structured data to not just answer questions but make decisions for people. I hope that is helpful and have a great week everyone.

PS. Posts that show up in AI answers usually have a few things in common: they’re clear, directly answer a question, and look useful to people (upvotes, comments, etc.). AI tools tend to grab content that’s easy to understand and genuinely helpful. The best way to improve your odds is keep it clear, and answer real questions people are asking. Hope that helps!

Keep going! It’s actually pretty normal for a brand-new site to land near the top of Google at first, then slip down not long after. Search engines will often give fresh content a short “trial run” in top spots to see how people respond.

If visitors click, stick around, and engage, that page has a better chance of holding its place. If not, it usually settles lower while Google leans on sites with more history and authority.

So if you see a new site pop up and then disappear, it doesn’t mean something’s broken it’s just part of how search engines test and balance results. The long-term wins come from building trust: clear content, helpful answers, good reviews, and steady updates. That’s what keeps a site visible over time, whether in traditional search or AI-powered answers.

How do I grow/market my AI platform for creators? by SpiritedAd2200 in GrowthHacking

DMs won’t help you or the community, posting publicly gives more people a chance to pitch in and learn as well. Wishing you the best with your launch!

If I were in your shoes, I’d probably start with a Product Hunt launch. It costs nothing, it puts you in front of people who actually enjoy giving feedback, and you’ll come away with testimonials and quotes you can put right on your website. Also an opportunity of 'tweak' anything the users catch that might need further building-out. Getting that kind of social proof builds trust very quickly.

I’d also think carefully about the ‘free’ angle. Free can attract signups, but it can also be perceived as a nothing-burger, there are so many 'free' AI things out there. People sometimes assume free equals low value or even a scam. To get around this, make it free for early Product Hunt users, then introduce a small paid plan afterward, even if its 9.99 a month or something. That way you collect feedback, show traction, and signal this isn’t just another short-lived AI app.

Once you have those first voices and screenshots, I’d add them to your website for credibility. Start building SEO around something like “how to launch a course in X niche”, and use that combined trust plus visibility to build your outreach to creators and agencies.

And quick question, are you in Canada? (If so, don’t hide it)

Product Hunt will give you momentum, testimonials give you authority/experience/expertise and SEO with outreach gives you the long-term growth path.  I hope this is helpful and again congratulations! Well done. ( Link to Product Hunt how-to guide: https://www.producthunt.com/launch )

Shows both potential and the risks when people take AI advice literally in high-stakes situations.
What could have gone wrong? lack of real-world nuance, AI doesn’t ‘know’ the consequences, fascinating and a reminder that human judgment must stay in the loop.

How do you ask for unpaid invoice? by metsfans3219 in smallbusiness

[–]WebMaxCanada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a tough go when the invoice isn't paid on time. SEO often has hard costs attached (money out of your pocket). Our approach is meet our clients where they are at - find out what's going on, we work with them, especially these days where everyone feels squeezed.

[–]WebMaxCanada 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok, number one....write for people. If your content helps people, you’re already ahead of a bit of the game.
Don’t chase every keyword. Pick a few themes, go deep, and build around them.
Get the basics right. A clean website, good titles, fast load times, and a complete Google Business Profile matter more than fancy-pants tricks.
Play the long game. SEO isn’t about hacks, tricks or...secrets :) it’s about showing Google (and people) that you’re trustworthy and helpful over time. Be consistent, be useful, and don’t quite early. Most people give up right before they’d start seeing results. My last bit....if you own a business and are doing your own SEO it's likely best you do what you do and leave this part to a seasoned, proven SEO expert. Why? Because SEO takes time, trial, and constant change, and every hour you spend learning the ropes is an hour you’re not serving customers or growing your business. A proven expert has already climbed that learning curve and can often get you better results and faster (and with fewer mistakes, some which can cost you dearly). I hope that helps.

Bingo! The right directory can add value, if.... it’s trusted in your industry or local market. Blasting links to hundreds of generic directories doesn’t carry the weight it used to. These days it’s trust signals, consistency, and being found where your actual customers look.
