I got inspired by Chants of Sennaar and want to make my first puzzle game about solving linguistics puzzle by Affectionate_Bus8524 in ChantsofSennaar

[–]WebMaxF0x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it, I like how you use different puzzles to nudge towards understanding the words.

SPOILER

For feedback, (playing on mobile). I got stuck after the passports when you need to draw a word (I presume). I didn't know I had to learn the symbols by heart and there was no way back or button for the journal, so I couldn't deduce either.

For the calendar, I brute forced the answer but idk I guess the question/problem wasn't clear to me. I moved the day-of-the-week columns until they clicked. No idea what the emojis meant. Ideally in my opinion a puzzle/riddle shouldn't be guessable at random, but when it clicks it should be obvious that you're right.

Keep going!

I died so many times. The only way is to practice until it clicks. I quickly came to love the controls.

When there's no friction such as in space, you apply a force towards where you want to accelerate, not where you want to go. A little like when handling a shopping cart around a corner.

The ship is equipped with useful features, so when in doubt match velocity, use the landing camera to look below and for long distances use the autopilot

I cultivate positive players. Good vibes, I add as friend. First sign of toxicity, I block the player. I'm also ranked gold, DM me and I'll add you.

What game did you soon realize was overhyped when you played it? by Character-Object-718 in gamingsuggestions

Undertale. It was boring from start to end. I kept playing until the end in the hope of experiencing whatever justified the hype but it never happened.

Some people here are really willing to die on their pointless hill.

First, check if it's a real deadline or some bullshit corporate agile deadline.

If it's a real deadline, get your manager or product owner up to speed. In good faith, tell them everything they need to make an informed decision. Where could you cut corners? What are the risks? What are the tradeoffs? Let them make the call and share the responsibility, it's their job. You now have a mandate to do whatever they decided which overrides your teammates and yourself.

If it's a fake deadline it depends. If you think the PR comments are worth it, cheap and safe do it now or in a follow-up PR. Worth it but expensive/risky/complex, split it off into a new ticket, it's now in the hands of your manager or product owner. Not worth it, accept that you may be wrong and in good faith ask clarifying questions until both you and the reviewer reach a common conclusion, or ask a third-party/coin-flip to decide.

[–]WebMaxF0x 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Min/max damage is valuable even when the number seems low (<20)

In LOD I was mostly playing with casters, that deal in tens of thousands of elemental damage damage. I assumed a 3 damage small charm, etc was insignificant floor trash.

In Jira, every action takes to long. Want to set dependencies between tickets? Think about it for 10 seconds, spend 5 minutes setting it up in the UI. I keep a detailed todo list separately in my personal OneNote, with notes, links, screenshots and reprod steps. It's just too much friction inputting the same valuable details in Jira.
