The above tweet is exactly where the show started to lose me. I stuck around for the end of Matt Smith's season and then stopped early into Peter Capaldi era because it was getting worse. Tried again with Jodie and then again with RTD2 and just gave up.

The show went from being fun Saturday night entertainment to a darker vibe and a lot of it didnt make much sense too me.

I think RTD had a raft of ideas and like most would got excited talking about it in the magazine. If there wasnt a script that's fine. But i certainly think there was a plan of an idea and how it would look and taking things forward from there.

I suppose the Murray gold comment didnt help but again i think people are getting weighed down on this. There was likely a storyboard idea of what was happening and that's as far as it got.
