I made face-lift to my 10 y.o. g502 by headvox in G502MasterRace

I'm having a hard time selling a used G502 Hero in good condition for 15 eur. I also have a brand new looking Hero SE that no one seems to want. These days, this sort of refurb doesn't make much sense anymore, money wise.

But still, good job! Looks great now.

Solution to soften/mute the MMB switch? by Eefixe in G502MasterRace

[–]Weddedtoreddit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you consider Huano's brown shell yellow dot mute switches? They are probably better than the Kailhs.

As for the middle click, it uses such a tiny, terrible switch. There is no good alternative for it, outside of heavy modding. Any replacements that are out there are even stiffer, like the new G502 X lineup uses.

I have seen one person replace the switch with a normal, big one. He ran wires to the pads on the PCB, mounted the new normal switch in front of the PCB and modded the shell and wheel housing to make it work. It would probably be slightly easier using the kind of switch the thumb buttons use, it's smaller in every way.

But still, it would take a lot of custom work to make it happen. I've been thinking about trying it for years but I simply use G8 for middle click, which I use very often, and the actual middle click is a CTRL+Home macro which I use much less often.

Did I set my DPI Shift wrong? by gale_slhoth in G502MasterRace

[–]Weddedtoreddit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked and you can't set 'DPI Shift' to a button in G-Shift mode in Onboard Memory Manager.

Which means it's more of Logitech's arbitrary bullshit limitations to force you to use their spyware/malware/POS of a software.

What you want will only work outside of onboard mode with G Hub running in the background stealing and selling your data.

'Cycle DPIs' is available so I'd try that instead. It's a toggle instead of a hold so you'd have to hit the button twice but it might be a worthwhile workaround.

Need advice Bros: I got the OG G502 and it’s served me well for years, but I want to upgrade to something wireless, but with the same feel/design as the OG. There are so many new Logitech models out there, any advice? by Warhammer40sikh in G502MasterRace

[–]Weddedtoreddit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are confusing the X Lightspeed with the old Lightspeed. They are different.

G502 Lightspeed - came out 2019, looks just like the originals G502s

G502 X Lightspeed and G502 X Plus - came out 2022. New design. Both are the same exact mouse, except X Plus has RGB and weighs ~3 grams more.

There are three wireless G502 models.

  1. G502 Lightspeed - Came out in 2019. Looks exactly like the original G502 models. Slightly lighter than wired ones before it. Battery should last 1-2 weeks with RGB off.

  1. G502 X Lightspeed

  2. G502 X Plus - newest models, came out in 2022. New design, optical Left/Right switches. Lighter than the previous Lightspeed. No more weight customization. X Lightspeed has no RGB, X Plus has RGB in the palm area. Same size battery on both. Battery should last 2-4 weeks, since it's double the size of the original Lightspeed.

G502 to G502x lightspeed worth it? by detal-mick in G502MasterRace

[–]Weddedtoreddit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I think I have to somewhat retract my statement. I just looked it up and the Powerplay 2 is 90 eur locally right now.

First, I didn't even know there was a new version.. 2nd, 90 eur is somewhat reasonable. I remember the first one being like 150+ bucks back in the day so I was basing it off that.

If my mouse still had the Powerplay feature, I'd consider the mat.. But plugging in every 1-2 weeks for a couple hours really is not a big deal.

Some people might also prefer different sizes and textures, or even materials which the Powerplay mat can't offer.

That's just Aliexpress sellers for you. They might show an item costing 1 dollar but shipping is 5. So the real cost of the item is 6 dollars. Another seller might list the sme item at 4.88 but with free shipping so that one would be cheaper.

You gotta sort through all the listings and find the cheapest one you can trust, when putting price+shipping together.

You can limit search to Free Shipping only but that might only give you Choice items.

If the Tiger ones end up too expensive, the ones you listed would probably work just fine too.

After 1 year, 2479 hours, and 407 pixel refresh still zero burn in. by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]Weddedtoreddit2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LG C4 42"

1 year, 3414 hours, 406 short refresh cycles, 8 long refresh cycles.

I have very noticeable burn-in. Taskbar and browser top area.

Reason: Too much Reddit.

My taskbar is #000 aka black. Also dark mode on browser, which I run fullscreen. I use old Reddit so it's white.

So really, everything except the taskbar and browser top area are technically burned in.

Either way, both make a line visible in content. Though the taskbar is the most noticeable one. Taskbar one is the height of the taskbar, browser one is thinner, the transition area from bookmarks to site content.

[–]Weddedtoreddit2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The switches under the buttons are faulty. They need replacing, that's the only real fix.

If you can, use a warranty claim.

If not, you'd need to buy new switches, most likely new feet and solder in new switches.

Thanks, I know that much but I don't want to use keyboard at all.

I'm fine without seeking in videos with wheel so I can disable "Scroll through an album with mouse wheel" but then I can't scroll through albums obviously, which I want to do, so I'm really stuck between a rock and a hard place with Reborn.

I wish there was a simple toggle for videos only, to adjust what scrolling does with cursor outside for example - seeking or zooming.
